Patch. – Ulcerated p. on right side of tongue, large and irregular, and very deep, Acid Muriaticum

Patches. – Tongue covered with a white coating, which peels off in p,, leaving dark-red, tender and very sensitive spots, Tarax.

– movements of tongue are difficult and very painful; it is very red, with dirty-yellow coating on upper surface; shows marks of teeth and has large gray p. on edges, Merc,

– aphthous p. on roof of mouth and tongue, Phosphorus

– swelling of tongue, which is covered with a whitish, thick, tenacious coat, which is detached in p., Merc,

– deep insular p. on tongue, Aralia, Kali carb., Mancin.

Patchy, Arsenicum

Peels. – Tongue covered with a white coating, which p. off in patches, leaving dark, red, tender, very sensitive spots, Tarax.

Peeling of tongue. Ranunculus sc.

Pendulum. – P.-like motion of tongue, Lycopodium

Pepper. – Sensation as if covered with p., Cannabis indica, Lachesis

– burning-like p. on lips and tongue. Aeon,

– smarting and burning of tip of tongue, as from p., Agar,

– burning on tip of tongue like from p., Teucrium

– smarting, as from p. at root of tongue, Teucrium

– burning as from p. on tip of tongue, followed by ptyalism, China.

Phagademic. – Tongue deeply and widely fissured in all directions, with a large, deep p. looking ulcer in center, Fluor, ac.

Phlegm. – Much p. in mouth and on tongue, Causticum

Pimples. – P. on tip of tongue. Hell, (painful. Kali c), Natr. carb.

– tongue swollen, numb and stiff, with p. on it, Calcarea phos.

– p. on palate and tongue, Nux vomica

– burning p. on tongue. Kali nit. (Belladonna, Tarax.)

– p. on edges, tongue thick, heavy, Curare.

– p. on tip, stinging when touched. Helleborus

Pricking. – Sensation at times as if tongue were paralyzed, with p., Cedron.

– sensation of p. in the tongue, with a feeling as if something was under the roots of tongue pressing it upwards, Ustilago.

– salivation with p. and swelling of tongue, accompanied with a copious secretion of viscid mucus. Helleborus

Projecting. – Spasm of tongue; p. it from mouth, forcing it between teeth, rendering speech indistinct, Secale.

Propulsion, tremulous, Agar, (embarassing speech).

Protrude. – Tongue white and so much swollen that prover could not p. it, Mercurius cor.

– cannot p. tongue, with sore throat, Sabad.

– can hardly p. tongue, it trembles so. Gels,

Protruded. – P., stiff, lame, Hydrastis ac.

Protrudes. – P. out of right corner of mouth, Conium

Provoked. – Tongue not coated, but very dry, which p. drinking, Rhus tox.

Ptyalism. – Excessive p.; swelling of tongue, Caladium

– swelling of tongue, with p., Mercurius cor.

– burning on tip of tongue with p., China,

– burning as from pepper on tip of tongue, followed by p., China.

– dry, rough tongue, with much thirst and p., Dulcamara

– sore mouth, gums and tongue, with fetid p., Digitalis

– tongue coated green, with p., Nitr. ac.

– tongue coated yellow, with p., Xanth.

Pulled. – Sensation as if tongue were pulled out by roots, Rhus ven.

Pungent. – Sharp, p. disagreeable taste in mouth, especially at tip of tongue and back of throat, Lobel.

Pulp. – Tongue covered with grayish p., Mercurius cy.

Purple. – Tongue p., black; white, Opi.

– aphthae; dirty -looking ulcers, and p. blotches in mouth and on tip of tongue, Plb.

– p. -colored tongue, Raph., Hydras, Opi., Stry.

Pulsation in the tongue, Galv., Vesp.

Pus. – Carcinoma; ulcer on right border of tongue, eating into it and discharging p., Silicea

Pustules. – Small circular patches like small-pox p. in mouth and on tongue, Tart. em.

– p. on tongue, Mercurius ac., Am. carb. (burning and stinging). Ant. tart., Hepar, Sepia
