The tender gums are made much worse by any application of heat; they are very much better from cold applications. They are liable to be very much worse in a hot room, and, as I say the attack is liable to subside about midnight. It is worth while remembering that the toothache pains of Chamomilla have entirely different modalities from the other pains.
The impression you get of the child is that it is tired. tired mentally and tired physically-just generally weary. And in spite of that, they are restless, twitchy, fidgety. And one of the almost constant things that I have come across in the Zinc. children is that when they are tired they get a very persistent, aching pain in the lower cervical region, very often with burning pains going right down the back.
With regard to dysmenorrhoea very often Mag. phos. would help in the acute attack, and the remedy which had helped him the most was Tuberculinum 6, and it very often eliminated the need for Mag. phos. They all knew that Carbo veg. was a “corpse reviver”; with regard to Veratrum alb. he had a very severe diarrhoea one day, with a cold clammy sweat. He took a dose of Veratrum alb. and in twenty minutes was relieved.
Chamomilla kids are awfully liable to get attacks of acute colic. I think mostly they get attacks of acute colic because they are given in to by their parents; they see something that they want and scream until they get it, and that evening they come down with acute abdominal colic mostly the fault of the parents.

In the compound fractures I think you mostly have much more nerve injury as well, owing to the fact that the ends of the bone come in contact with the cutaneous nerves, and you get much more stabbing pain as well as the bruised condition. And you very often find you want a dose of Hypericum, rather than Arnica, in the first instance, until the fracture has been set, and then you want some Arnica to follow it up with.
