Inferior Extremities

Ascending steps is very difficult; walking upon a level is not. The limbs fall asleep while lying. Feeling of numbness, and great inclination of the whole right leg to fall asleep, especially in the lower leg. Numb sensation of the whole right leg, as if it was going to sleep, with great subsequent heaviness in it, in the morning after waking. The lower extremities frequently fall asleep. While sitting, first one and then the other limb falls asleep. Great heaviness suddenly of the left leg, so that he can only move it with great difficulty, as it paralyzed, at night in bed and during the following day while sitting. Burning and pain in both limbs, also even with acute stitches. HIP. Weak, weary, and bruised in the hips and limbs, especially in the calves, on walking (13th day). Stitches, fine, but very acute, in the left hip-joint while standing; after sitting down, there sticking-tearing down the whole leg, as if in the marrow, which disappearing after rising from the seat. Tearing, at times crawling, in the hips or in the parts enveloping them (19th, 21st, 30th days). Tearing in the hips and knees even while sitting. Tearing pain in the left hip from time to time. Pinching-tearing in the hip-joint. Pain as from a blow in the upper part of the left hip-bone while walking and on touch. Bruised pain in the hip-joint, with pain on motion and on sneezing. Jerking in the left hip-joint on turning the leg. THIGH. He is as weary in his thighs as if had been used up by walking, for many days, mostly in the afternoon. Paralysis of the whole thigh, with a feeling as if it would fall asleep. Feeling of loss of power in the both thighs above the knees in the evening. Dull pain in the nates. Pain like a suppuration in the nates and thighs from sitting. Jerking in the muscles of the thighs. Jerking in the muscles in the nates. Stiffness in the knees (2nd day). Stiffness, tension and weakness in the right knee, as if tightly bound up. Painful falling asleep of the knees on walking fast; he cannot bend them well. Paralytic drawing in the lower legs. Twitches on the anterior surface of the left lower leg while standing. Tearing and drawing, with a feeling of great weariness, in the lower leg, especially in the ankles, on waking at night. Stitches in the tibia. Tearing in both tibia, with pain in the periosteum when touched and a feeling of tension while walking. Tearing in the upper part of the tibia beneath the knee. Tearing in the left tibia. Tension in the calves, as if too short, on rising from sitting during the day. Tension in the left calf, as if the tendons were too short, while standing, not while sitting. Cramp in the right calf (after 24 hours).. Cramp in the calf and sole on drawing up the leg at night in bed. Tearing in the upper part of the calf (20th day). Tearing in the right calf, extending deep inward on pressing and rubbing. It caused pain in upper part of calves as if bruised, or from too much walking, and on stretching out the legs, stiffness from half way up back of thighs to tendons Achilles, as if the tendons were tightened. ANKLE. Severe drawing and sticking in the left ankle and stepping upon it for several hours in the morning after rising, most painful in the evening with throbbing in it and sticking in the heel; she is unable to rest upon the foot, and is obliged to keep it constantly suspended; It feels too heavy, swollen at the seat of the pain and hot to touch. Stitches beneath the malleolus. Violent Stitching in the tendons behind the right external malleolus when running, disappearing during rest. Feeling as if a stitch were shooting in to the malleolus; when walking a feeling as if the feet would break; She was obliged to remain standing. Tearing just above the malleolus (20th day). Swelling and redness of the soles of the feet, with burning in them, even while lying down, though still more when stepping. Pressive pain in the sole of the foot while stepping and while walking. Pressive pain in the heel. Stitches as with needles. Crawling in the soles of the feet extending towards the toes. Crawling pain in the soles of the feet with painful sensitiveness of them. TOES. Chilblain on the ball of the great toe, with sticking- cutting pain; it is red and thick. Inflamed red chilblains on the toes, with pressive pain. Bluish red chilblain on the ball of the great toes, inflamed, and with cutting pain and needle-like Stitches in it, especially when in the boots or shoes. Cramp in the left great toe, so that he is unable to stretch it out, in the evening while sitting. Pain as from a sprain in the first joint of the great toe, while walking, most acute on bending it up (11th and 33rd days). Tickling- Sticking in the tips of the toes. Stitches as with needles in the balls of the great toes. Stitches in the corns. Fine Stitching, with itching on the tip of the great toe. Tearing in the toes (4th, 7th, 11th and 20th days). Tearing in the first phalanx of the great toe (11th, 16th, 19th, and 34th days). Tearing in the tip of the great toes (11th, 17th and 36th days). The tips of the toes are very painful on walking. Gnawing painful on the side, as if it would grow in to the flesh (14th day). The corns are painfully sensitive.

Sleep

SLEEPINESS. Frequent yawning. Sleepiness early in the evening, with morose silence. Sleepiness in the afternoon (3rd day). Sleepiness with yawning, while walking in the open air. Sleepiness after dinner disappearing in the open air. Constant sleepiness in the afternoon, yawning and suffering expression. Great Sleepiness during the day; she sleeps even while sitting. Great Sleepiness; she could even sleep during breakfast (soon). After eating, great sleepiness, with chilliness and yawning. Overpowering sleepiness in the afternoon and evening. Attacks of sleepiness while eating (2nd and 4th day). Sleepy very early in the evening (after 10 days). Very sleepy in the morning and waking late. Very sleepy, with yawning in the forenoon, lasting till noon. In the morning, after a good sleep, he soon obliged to lie down again, and after 3 hours sleep feels well. He immediately feel asleep, but also began to dream. Dreams at night, with restless sleep, and frequent waking. Many dreams, with uneasiness and tossing about in sleep. At night he passes from one dream to another. Sleep full of dreams, with frequent waking (10th day). Sleep restless, full of dreams. The whole sleep is full of vivid dreams of the business of the day. Dreamy sleep, with talking in it. Talking in sleep. Loud talking in sleep. Violent crying in a dream at night. The child cries and tosses about restlessly at night. Frequent voluptuous (1st 14 days). Lascivious dreams, after coition, at night, with emission. Anxious dreams, she cries of help. During the menses, she again falls asleep after waking in the morning, but remains in an extremely unpleasant condition between sleep and waking; is distressed by hearing things, which makes her anxious, though at the same time she knows that she is dreaming, but is unable to open her eyes, and can only with difficulty arouse herself from this condition. Anxious dream of danger to her from passing forms, some of which lay hold of her. Anxious dreams; that his father was about to beat him. Dream of robbers (11th day). Dreamed that the cathedral was on the fire; on waking up (which she often did) could of nothing else; got up for half an hour and lit a candle to get rid of the idea; then on sleeping again had the same dream again and so through the night, the last dream being that her own house was on fire; on two other nights dreamed each time about different subject, but the dream was repeated over and over again, as on this occasion (seldom dreams at all). In dream she fell from a high mountain. Dreams of diseased parts of the body. Horrible dreams disturb her sleep. All sorts of frightful figures pass before her eyes during sleep. Dreams of masked persons, ghosts, and devils. Dreams of dead persons, as if they were living, and quarreled with her. Dreams of serpents, disease and death. In a dream one announced his approaching death. Nightmare, at night, with a dream as if a stone were lying upon him, and at the same time the larynx were being gradually constricted, with ineffectual efforts to wake. Little sleep for six weeks. Almost always cold, and could be warmed only with the greatest difficulty, for several weeks.
