Skin

Irritation on the upper part of the chest and arms, and a fine rash about the forehead and around the borders of the hair, with much itching; not subject to anything of the kind (fifteenth night). At intervals the skin of the abdomen felt stiff and stretched (fifth and sixth days). Tingling in the legs, which disappeared after the second day. Formication below the knees (after second dose, first day). Itching in right temple, in evening (second day). In the swell of the deltoid muscle on both arms, a burning itching, compelling to rub and scratch, which relieve for a short time (thirty-fifth day).

Sleep and Dreams.

Sleepiness. Yawning and stretching (third day). Yawning and stretching all over (thirty-second day). Sleepy, but easily aroused (after one hour); sleepy (after four hours). Very sleepy at other times than the usual sleeping hours (after forty three days). During evening tried to compose music but could not; for a sleepy feeling which pervaded the whole frame compelled the prover to retire at the unusually early hour of nine (second day). Desire to sleep (sixth day). Feel drowsy and retire early (third day). Slept soundly without dreaming much; about the middle of the night woke suddenly and evacuated the bladder, a very unusual thing with the prover; slept again until a quarter before six, when awoke suddenly and again emptied the bladder; slept again till eight, when the bladder was evacuated again (first night). Sleeplessness. She has not slept for several nights; must rise twenty times to urinate; knees turning and twisting; likes to have a pretext for getting up; if aroused by anything she can`t sleep again (sixty ninth day). Cannot sleep at night, but lies with the eyes wide open (twenty-second day). Wakefulness (eleventh night). Wakeful during the night, but when asleep disturbed by bad laborious dreams (thirty first night). Unquiet sleep, frequent waking as if from being frightened (twentieth night). Went to sleep soon after midnight, waking often (sixty-first night). No sleep after 2 o`clock in the morning (fourteenth night). Restlessness at night (ninth to eleventh days). Restless during the night, with lascivious dream toward morning and seminal emission, which woke me (twenty-third night). Restless sleep (fourteenth night). Restless sleep, full of dreams, which cannot be recalled (sixteenth day). Dreams. Dreams all night (eighth day). Queer, half-waking dreams, with burning heat the whole night; things occurring at short intervals appeared as if very long intervals were between, as, for example, when a child got up to pass urine, the intervals between getting up and passing urine and going to bed again seemed very long (fourteenth day). Slept well all night, with unpleasant dreams (sixth night). Sleep broken by disagreeable dreams; arose earlier than usual not refreshed by sleep (first day). Troublesome and disagreeable dreams (sixth night). Frightful and laborious dreams (fourteenth night).

Fever.

Chilliness. Chilliness (seventeenth day). Chilly feeling all over the body (second day). A little chilly (second day). Chills running from the face downward, with a congested and constricted feeling of the chest, as if too narrow, and might be relieved by letting out some of the blood. Sudden chills, not followed by fever, but with fullness of the head (after 12 drops). Severe chill towards evening, causing great pain in and about the heart, going through into the back under the scapula; the pain is constrictive, the heart feels as if it were squeezed in a vice; the blood seems to have all gone to the heart, causing a feeling as though I must bend double; I can hardly walk straight going home; the heart fairly shakes with the cold, although the weather is mild (third day). Chilliness over the face, followed by fever, congestion to the chest, and slight momentary spasmodic twitchings around the heart, during the forenoon (fifth day). Cold chills in the back particularly after going to bed at night, with hot flushes toward morning (twelfth day). Cold chills run over the face; chillier than in cold weather, with hot congested sensation in the chest (first day). Creeping chills down the back, every night on going to bed, for a month (after two weeks). Extremities cold and clammy (after 12 drops). Cold feet and hands (forty-third day). Cold hands and feet, and cold sweat on both most of the time, particularly so when having fluttering of the heart. Cold hands and feet; perspiration, indeed, so profuse that they were constantly wet with cold, clammy sweat. Everything in the east exciting produces cold hands (fourth day). Coldness of the outer side of the left leg, as though cold wind was blowing upon it. Coldness of the feet (twenty-eighth day). A cold feeling in the back, as if cold water were poured upon it, on going to bed (eleventh night). Heat. Great heat. Great heat and general lassitude, in the afternoon (sixteenth day). Burning hot the whole night, with queer half- waking dreams (fourteenth day). Slight feverish symptoms (second and third day). Heat and full bloated feeling of face and head. Heat in the hands continuing through the night with perspiration (after eight hours, twenty-first day). Heat in the hands, arms, and lower limbs, with general restlessness; a feeling of outward pressure, as if the blood would burst through the veins (eleventh night). Heat in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, extending thence up the limbs, with restlessness through the night (twelfth night). Heat in the lower limbs, with restless movements (after eight hours, twenty first day). Great heat in the hands, arms, feet, and legs, with strong desire to put them out of bed into the cool air (twentieth night). Great heat in the arms and legs, with pulsation of the blood vessels, in the early part of the night (fourteenth night). Burning heat in palms of hands and soles of feet, extending thence up and over the whole limbs, with general restlessness of whole system, at 5 P. M. (after nine hours); greatly increasing in the evening and after going to bed, with constant searching for a cool place in bed, or desire to put them out into the cool air, which temporarily relieved the burning and restlessness (eighth, ninth, tenth, and fifteenth days). Hot hands (after six hours, twenty-third day). Feet and hands hot (seventeenth day). Very hot hands (after 2 P. M. twenty-fourth day). Fever heat of the extremities through the night (sixteenth night). Sweat. Cold perspiration on back of hands and on feet, with fainting feeling in a warm room (after forty-three days). Much sweating in the axillae, especially in the right, a symptom never previously noticed. Moisture of the palms of the hands (fourteenth night).

Morning diarrhoea; early, dull headache; twinges, etc. in chest; pain in mammae; when moving, drawing in sacrum. (Forenoon), Chilliness over face, etc. (Afternoon), About 5 o`clock, all symptoms; obtuseness; towards evening, pain in temple; from 3 to 5 o`clock, pressing down, etc. around pubes, etc.; congestion of chest; lassitude, etc.; pulsation over body, etc.; towards evening, chilly; heat, etc. (Evening), The symptoms; irritable; headache; hot pain in forehead; frontal headache; in warm, room sensation from temple; burning in forehead; backing cough; oppressive feeling in chest; after going to bed, restlessness. (Night), From about 5 P. M. to 8 A.M. all symptoms; excitement; despondency; after going to bed, confusion in head; etc. in forehead; pain in eyes; towards morning, feeling in lower chest; in bed, heaviness in region of heart, etc.; when lying down, pain in region of heart; in bed, pain in back; pains through hip, etc.; after lying down, aching in knees; after going to bed, chills in back, etc.; heat, etc.; heat in hands, etc.; heat of extremities. (walking in open air), Headache, etc. (After eating), Nausea. (Giving up self-control), All symptoms. (Lying down), Constriction in side of chest; pain in mammae, etc. (Pressure), Pain in temples. (Walking), Pain in temple. (After ceasing to walk), The pains.

Amelioration
