Rectum and Anus.

Periodic rumbling and gurgling in the rectum (first hours). The rectum feels constricted. Burning in the anus in the morning (seventh day). Violent burning in the anus, after a stool (in the evening; also second day). A feeling like a contraction in the rectum. Cramp in the rectum extends upward from the anus. Fine sticking in the rectum, after urging to stool. A stitch as with an awl in the rectum during stool, which shoots from above downward; followed by discharge of some pasty faeces. Three tearings in succession in the rectum (after two hours. Crawling in the rectum as from worms, in the evening in bed. Itching and crawling in the rectum in the morning (second day). Desire for stool with passage of only flatus, while passage of only flatus, while walking (after one hour). Ineffectual desire for stool; she was obliged to go frequently.

Stool

Diarrhoea. Diarrhoea once, followed by burning in the anus (seventh day). Diarrhoea, without tenesmus, in the evening (fifth day). Diarrhoea twice, with tenesmus, in the morning (fourth day). (The diarrhoea, with tenesmus, from which he had suffered ceased), (after two hours). Diarrhoea, with tenesmus returns in the afternoon. Diarrhoea, at one time with, at another without, tenesmus (in the evening, first and second days, and in the morning, third day ). Diarrhoea, consisting of thin greenish mucus, with contraction in the groin, four times in two hours, without relief; at 2 P. M. (second day). (This prover was tormented by an obstinate diarrhoea commencing the day after the last dose, and lasting nine days; he had three watery stools daily, especially after midnight; which, however, were not ascribed to the action of the drug). Involuntary stool and micturition. Soft stool twice (first evening). Stool in the evening the third time, and after the stool tenesmus. Soft stool twice in succession, without relief of the pain, at 5 P. M. Two soft stools (second morning). Desire for stool; five minutes after a soft stool (after one hour and a half). Soft stool at 4 P. M. Urging and soft stool, after dinner. Pressure and soft stool, followed by some tenesmus (after one hour and a half). Soft stool, with pressing (after one hour). Thin stool (after two hours). Soft stool with tenesmus (second morning). Soft stool first (after eighteen hours); after the stool burning in the anus; during the stool twinging in the upper abdomen; after dinner. Stool pasty, seven hours earlier than usual, with slight pain as from a cold, about 5 P. M. Stool several hours later than usual, but of the normal consistence. Stool drier and harder than usual (after last three doses). A second evacuation of the bowels towards evening, which was difficult and dry (after 14 drops). Stool with pressure at 6 A.M. (second day). Stool at first somewhat hard, afterwards somewhat softer, with colic, as from taking cold, and tenesmus in the rectum, as though more stool would follow. Hard stool, contrary to habit. Hard stool, at noon, with urging. Hard stool, with some pressure (after three-quarters of an hour). Stool hard, with pressure (second morning). Hard stool, at noon, with urging. Hard stool, with some pressure followed by burning in the anus (eight day). Stool without much pressure, twelve hours too late. Stool hard, difficult. Constipation. Constipation, stool hard and dry (after 16 drops). Complete constipation for eight days. Stool every two or three days; after which the abdomen continued full, with a feeling as though he had accomplished nothing, and a peevish mood. No stool (first day). No stool (first and second day), hard stool (third day).

Urinary Organs

Bladder. It was impossible to pass a drop of urine, the bladder and sphincter ani were completely paralyzed; this condition lasted five days. Pressure upon the bladder after dinner; he had to press a long time before the urine passed, and then but little was evacuated; but he felt very much relieved (after three days). Urethra. Burning in the urethra, and urging after urinating (second morning). Itching in the forepart of the urethra. Micturition. Micturition (after three minutes), (he had urinated an hour previously). Urinating a second time, contrary to habit (after one hour). Urinates the fourth time, at 4 p. m. Frequent emission of scanty urine. He is obliged to rise from bed early in the morning to urinate, but only a little passes. Only a few drops of urine during the stool. The urine passed slowly and indolently. The urine waited some time before it passed, in the morning (eighth day). Urine after three hours as usual, but she was obliged to wait for some time before it passed, preceded by painful urging. Urine. Urine increased (third, fourth, and fifth days). Urine increased in the morning (second day). The urine is apparently increased; the first since the morning after taking (after three hours and a half). The urine seems to be increased in the afternoon, and becomes turbid over night. Urine increased in the afternoon, soon depositing a thin cloud. Urine increased in the evening, with burning while urinating (first day). Urine increased while walking (at 4 P. M. and also second day). Urine a pale yellow, at 3 P. M. the second time; deposits a cloud. Scanty urine (after half an hour). Diminished secretion of urine; he urinates only three times in twenty-four hours, each time but little passes. No urine (first day). Urine pale and of the usual amount (after one hour). Urine pale, seems to be increased (after one hour). Urine yellow and scanty (after three hours and a half). Urine watery yellow, scanty (after three-quarters of an hour). Urine pale yellow, the second time since rising (after one hour). Urine golden yellow, after short time a cloud forms in the middle of it. Urine too acrid, so that the pudenda are made sore thereby (at least, this seems to be the cause of the burning). Urine frothy all day; of the usual quantity (after two hours); three times in the day. The urine after standing a quarter of an hour looks like thick clayey water. A thin pellicle like a spider’s web forms after a time on the clear urine; in the middle of the urine large flakes float, and at the bottom of the vessels there is a reddish sediment. The urine deposits a small cloud (after two hours). The urine is clear when passing, but after awhile deposits very much red sediment, with white flakes of a gelatinous consistence (after four hours). Urine deposits a thickish red sediment.

Sexual Organs

Male. Erections in the evening and at night. Erections without fantasies, which had not happened for a long time, at 7 and 9 P. M. Voluptuous itching beneath the prepuce, with desire for coition. Female. Menstruation eight days too early (after 6 days). Menstruation eight days too early, though not more profuse than usual (after seven days). Menstruation eight days too early; during the first four days tearing in the vertex only at night, disappearing in the morning after rising; the discharge lasted eight days, was more profuse than usual, and painful; the blood was thin. Menstruation more profuse and long-lasting than usual (after seventeen days). Menstruation at the right time, but more profuse than usual; on the second day toothache; on the third day very violent cutting colic from 2 to 4 P. M. relieved by the application of warm clothes to the abdomen; on the fourth day menstruation ceased (about one day longer than usual; almost without difficulty).

Respiratory Organs

Larynx, trachea, and bronchi. Tenacious mucus in the upper part of the trachea (after 16 drops). Dryness and rawness in the trachea, as from mucus which he could not loosen, but was constantly obliged to hawk (after three-quarters of an hour). Pain in the trachea on coughing (second forenoon). Sticking from without into the larynx, which takes away the breath (after three quarters of an hour). Sensitiveness and a feeling of drawing low down in the trachea, aggravated by swallowing (after four hours). Some rawness in the trachea (after one hour and a half). Rawness and scraping in the trachea (after two hours). Rawness in the trachea, with pain like a drawing, and hacking cough (after a quarter of an hour). Scraping in the larynx, with hoarseness; followed by increased secretion of mucus in the larynx, and frequent provocation to cough (after 14 drops). Ticking in the larynx. Tickling and rawness in the trachea (after half an hour). Fine tickling in the trachea, during the rawness (after half an hour). Tickling in the trachea provokes cough (after half an hour). Crawling in the upper bronchi, as if tickled with a feather. Itching beneath the larynx, causing a hacking cough. Voice. Deep base voice (after three- quarters of an hour). Hoarse-swallowing and when not (after one hour and a half). Hoarseness, and a feeling as though the breath were impeded in the trachea (after half an hour). Hoarseness and ineffectual provocation to cough (after three- quarters of an hour). (* Hoarseness; (after 20 drops). Hoarseness and rawness in the throat, when swallowing and when not (after one hour and a half). Hoarseness, and a feeling as though the breath were impeded in the trachea (after half an hour). Cough in a few paroxysms (after a few hours, and frequently). (Violent cough; from inhaling the vapor of aqua laurocerasi in hooping cough). Frequent short cough with roughness and hoarse speech (after a quarter of an hour). A dry, short cough, with a feeling as if mucus were hanging in the throat and could not be loosened; an hour afterwards the mucus loosens easily. Short hacking cough at 2 P. M. Short hacking cough, caused by tickling in the larynx (after one hour and a half. Hacking cough on account of rawness in the trachea (after one hour). Easy hacking of a piece of mucus (second morning). Respiration. Slow, moaning, rattling respiration. Sobbing respiration. Respiration very slow and scarcely perceptible. Frequent deep breathing (after one hour). On inspiration breathing was impeded in the epigastric region (after one hour and a quarter). Very short breath on account of sticking pain in the right shoulder and liver. Not so much dyspnoea as usual, while walking, but motion was easy (fourth day).
