Throat

Objective. Ineffectual hawking (after five minutes). Frequent hawking on account of rawness in the throat (after three quarters of an hour). Hawking of mucus (soon). Hawking of mucus (after three-quarters of an hour, and one hour and a half). Frequent hawking of mucus in the morning (forth day). He hawks sweetish mucus, at 2 P. M. A piece of watery mucus comes into the throat, which is easily expectorated without hawking (after one hour and a quarter). Subjective. Heat in the throat, with hoarseness (after two minutes). Burning and rawness in the throat (after one hour and a half). Burning in the throat and palate, lasting a long time, afterwards in the palate only. Slight burning and some pain in the throat (after two hours). Dull pain in the throat, chest, region of the heart and stomach, and in the scapula, only on the right side (after one hour). Painful drawing downward in the throat, when swallowing and when not, frequent and long-lasting, disappearing after eating soup (after one hour). Dull sticking pain as from a lump in the throat, which extends to the left side of the back. Tearing from the occiput to the throat, only somewhat relieved by rubbing (after half an hour). Scraping in the throat. Scraping in the throat before and during cough (after three hours). Scraping in the throat and larynx, with hoarseness and frequent need to cough (after 16 drops). Rawness in the throat, lasting an hour, frequently returning in the afternoon (after half an hour). Rawness in the throat with hacking (after a quarter of an hour). Rawness in the throat, causing some cough, soon disappearing, in the morning (fourth day). Rawness and scraping in the throat, which provokes a hacking cough (after five minutes). Frequent hacking on account of rawness in the throat (after three-quarters of an hour). Speech is difficult on account of rawness in the throat (after three- quarters of an hour). Roughness of the throat (after 20 drops). Roughness and scraping in the throat, on swallowing, somewhat relieved after swallowing (after five hours). A choking pain in the upper part of the pharynx, which involves the chest and causes a kind of oppression in it; this pain then extends over the whole neck and face; with dull sticking pain in the teeth and a feeling in some of them as if they had been raised up. She was able to swallow only after consciousness had somewhat returned. External Throat. Pain as from stiffness in the left side of the neck and throat, neither aggravated nor relieved by motion (after forty hours). Spasmodic contractive sensation in the anterior cervical muscles, while drinking (after one hour).

Stomach

Appetite. Appetite unusually great. Great hunger (after four hours). Appetite less than usual (second morning). Loss of appetite was the primary effect; the appetite became very good in the secondary action, better than formerly; he ate more, with greater relish, and it agreed with him (after twenty- four hours). Thirst. Increased thirst. Much thirst. Great thirst (after 16 drops). Excessive thirst, with dryness in the mouth, without heat at 8.30 P. M. also at 4 P. M. (second day). Eructation and Hiccough. Sweetish eructations (after half an hour). Bitter eructations, during and after breakfast (after one hour and a quarter). Eructations of a rancid taste (after five minutes), (and also on previous days). Eructations tasting of bitter almonds (after five minutes). Risings of tasteless water, after which the nausea gradually disappears (after half an hour). Heat rises from the stomach (after half an hour). A feeling as though hot vapor rose from the stomach to the shoulders (after one hour). Hiccough, twice (after a quarter of an hour); also, all day. Nausea and Vomiting. Nausea; immediately. Nausea in the stomach (after a quarter of an hour). Nausea and vomiting. Nausea, stomachache, after dinner (second day ). Nausea with colic, soon disappearing, in the morning. Slight transient nausea (after 20 drops). Became nauseated in the morning, with a feeling of hunger in the stomach, yet food nauseated him. A peculiar feeling in the epigastric religion, not exactly nausea, but somewhat similar to the sensation that precedes vomiting (after 15 drops). He feels sick and nauseated (after ten hours). He became sick, as if he had taken an emetic in the morning in bed (after twenty-four hours). He became faint and qualmish about the heart, with anxious warmth, as if he had taken an emetic, and could not vomit; in the afternoon (after forty hours). Vomiting. Stomach. Moving about in the stomach (after five minutes). Rumbling in the stomach followed by sour eructations (after half an hour). Prolonged rumbling in the stomach. Agreeable warmth in the stomach and abdomen (soon). Feeling of emptiness in the stomach (after 35 drops). Feeling of weakness in the stomach (after one hour and a half). Discomfort in the stomach, as from fasting (after a quarter of an hour). Feeling as of a disordered stomach, after dinner, disappearing after eating bread. Pain in the epigastric region, while urinating, disappearing after urinating (after two hours). Pain in the stomach with qualmishness (after five to six hours). Pain and nausea in the stomach (after half an hour). Pain in the stomach similar to a faintness, in the morning (sixth day). Violent pain in the stomach, soon followed by loss of speech, and death after one hour; without vomiting, convulsions, discharges from the bowels, or any external alteration (from about 10 drachms of Aqua Laurocerasi). Most violent pain in the stomach, followed by death. (* In a young person who had drank some Aq. Lauro. from a bottle. *) Burning in the stomach. Burning in the pit of the stomach, soon disappearing (after half an hour). Burning in the stomach, and warmth in the whole abdomen, after beer, in the morning. Cooling burning in the stomach and abdomen, lasting a long time (after five minutes). Feeling as if the stomach were full of water, with nausea (after quarter of an hour). Most violent distension in the stomach; loss of speech and death, but without vomiting, diarrhoea or previous convulsions. (* In a woman who drank 10 drachms of Aq. Lauro. in an hour. *) Feeling of contraction in the epigastric region (after half an hour). Contractive feeling in the stomach, at 2 P. M. A cramp like pulling pain in the pit of the stomach in the evening on getting into bed and lying on one side; with a small, weak, contracted pulse; this only disappeared when lying quietly on the back (after sixteen hours). Pressure in the stomach, with nausea (after half an hour). Severe pressure in the stomach. Violent pressure in the epigastric region. Cramplike sticking pain above the pit of the stomach. Violent stitch in the pit of the stomach (after two hours and a half). Violent stitch, extending through the pit of the stomach into the small of the back (after half an hour).

Abdomen

Hypochondria. The hepatic region is greatly distended, painful as if suppurating, and as if an ulcer would develop. Pain in the left hypochondriac region, neither sticking nor burning (after five minutes). Pain in the left hypochondriac region not disappearing on rubbing, also not aggravated by breathing (after one hour). Indescribable pain in the right hypochondriac region, extending towards the small of the back (after one hour). A simple pain in the right hypochondriac region (after five minutes). Burning in the right hypochondriac region at 3 P. M. Twinging in the left hypochondrium (after half an hour). Sticking, pressive pains in the liver. Sticking in the right hypochondriac region about 1 P. M.; extending towards the axilla, at 2 P. M. Frequent sticking and burning in the right hypochondriac region, so that the spot became painful even to touch (after three hours). Burning sticking in the right hypochondriac region towards the back, which after rubbing goes to the middle of the scapula (after three-quarters of an hour). Two stitches in succession in the right hypochondriac region, extending towards the back (after one hour). Two stitches in the right hypochondriac region; immediately afterwards burning, extending backwards (after three hours). Sharp stitches in the left hypochondriac region, extending forward, at 2 P. M. A very sharp stitch in the right hypochondriac region (after two hours and a half). A fine stitch in the right hypochondriac region (after three quarters of an hour). Some course stitches in the right hypochondriac region, extending backward, followed by a violent stitch in the nates so that he was obliged to cry out (after two hours). A paralytic bruised pain, extending from the liver to the shoulder, noticed on every inspiration. Beating and bubbling in the liver, as in a sore finger. Umbilical and Sides. Distension in the umbilical region (after half an hour), Pinching and tearing about the umbilicus at 2 P. M. Griping in the umbilical region, and two pasty stools in succession. Twinging about the umbilicus, at 3 P. M. Twinging about the umbilicus and sticking in the small of the back at 10 P. M. Twinging pain extending from both hypochondria to the umbilicus, where it is most painful; soon disappearing (after five minutes). A feeling below the umbilicus as if the intestines were cut to pieces, followed by moving about in the abdomen; relieved by emissions of flatus at 3.30 P. M. A feeling about the umbilicus as if something had torn loose there at 2 P. M. Rumbling in the right side of the abdomen (after two hours and a half). A painful weary sensation in the right flank, as if he had walked several miles (after twenty- four hours). Dull sticking-drawing pain in the right side above the umbilicus (after two hours). Painful drawing pressure in the right side of the abdomen, lasting a long time (after two hours). Cutting in both sides of the abdomen, disappearing after emission of flatus. Sticking in the left side of the abdomen at 3 P. M. Sticking from the right side of the abdomen, near the umbilicus coming out at the left groin (after one hour and a half). Several successive stitches in the left side of the abdomen; after the morning beer. A pinching stitch in the left side of the abdomen, that chiefly spreads upward. General Abdomen. The abdomen is hard, and the skin distended and tympanitic. Almost all food distends the abdomen, and he then feels stuffed. The abdomen is drawn more tightly together, with a general comfortable feeling (after four days). The abdomen is retreated, and if he presses it out there is a stitch externally towards the right clavicle (after one hour and a half). Moving about in the abdomen, during supper (after one hour). Moving about in the abdomen from right to left, where it becomes a sticking, and disappears (after a quarter of an hour). Moving about in the whole abdomen, with burning (soon),. Moving about in the upper abdomen; together with a stitch in the stomach (after three-quarters of an hour). Rumbling in the abdomen at 2 P.M. Audible rumbling in all the intestines (after a quarter of an hour). Emission of flatus (after a quarter of an hour). Emission of flatus after stool, after dinner. Frequent easy emission of flatus. Loud emission of flatus (after one hour and a half). Coldness and audible rumbling in the whole abdomen (soon). Burning in the whole abdomen (after three quarters of an hour). Feeling of distension below the umbilicus (after one hour and a half). Contraction and pinching from both sides of the abdomen, at 2 P. M. Pinching in the whole abdomen, especially in the middle, at 2 P. M. Pinching in the whole abdomen, mostly in the left side, followed by soft stool, without tenesmus (after a quarter of an hour ). Pinching in the upper abdomen, afterwards a stitch in the middle of it (after one hour and a half). Pinching and contraction in the upper abdomen, followed by sticking in the left hypochondriac region, near the back (after one hour). Violent griping in the abdomen, extending from both sides towards the center, followed by two successive diarrhoea-like stools, with tenesmus (after thirty-six hours). Twinging in the abdomen and moving about, followed by soft stool, (* This had also been noticed before taking the drug. *) (after one hour and a half). Frequent short twinges about the middle of the abdomen (after two hours). Cutting in the abdomen, in the afternoon while walking. Cutting in the abdomen, followed by diarrhoea, at 2 and 4 P. M. (third day). Cutting in the upper abdomen, and a stitch in the left hypochondrium (after one hour and a half). Violent cutting about the middle of the upper abdomen, coming from both sides, at 9 P. M. Awakened at 2 A.M. by terrible cutting and contractive pain in the whole abdomen, lasting two hours, followed by two successive diarrhoea-like stools, and cessation of the pain (seventh day). Two stitches in the middle of the upper abdomen, afterwards in the right hypochondriac region (after five minutes). Violent colic lasting twenty minutes, without alteration of the pulse (after half an hour). Pinching, sticking, pressive, flatulent pain in the right side of the abdomen, which disappears after the emission of some flatus, but soon returns (after one hour). Hypogastrium and Iliac Regions. Flatus accumulates towards the perineum and causes a forcing and pressing outward. Flatulence presses upon the bladder. Fullness in the lower abdomen, relieved by emission of flatus (second day). Feeling as from a swelling as large as a nut in the left side of the lower abdomen, with sticking pain, if she presses it with the fingers when stooping, relieved by becoming erect, at 2 P. M. Violent contractive pain in the lower abdomen above the pubis on both sides, at 7 P. M.; also in bed, lasting an hour. Slight pinching in both sides of the lower abdomen, which then extends into the small of the back (after one hour). Twinging, extending from both sides of the lower abdomen towards the middle, followed by stitches in the right hypochondriac region (after half an hour). Pressure and tension beneath both Poupart’s ligaments, as if a part would press through. Sticking pain above the right pubis, extending along the spermatic cord, while lying and on moving about, disappearing when sitting up. Contractive pain in the right groin, after dinner (after four hours). Contractive pain in both groins, extending downwards, so that she was obliged to bend up for two hours, about 4 P. M. Stitches in the right groin, on the ilium, at 1.30 P. M. Stitches in the left groin, on stooping, disappearing on becoming erect (after three quarters of an hour). Stitches in the left groin, if she inclines forward toward the left side, disappearing on becoming erect, at 2 P. M. Four or five stitches in succession in the left groin (after half an hour). Stitch in the right groin; then moving about in the stomach (after three quarters of an hour). Stitch like fleabite in the right groin, during dinner (after four hours). Sharp stitches in the right groin (after a quarter of an hour). Fine stitches in the right inguinal region, extending towards the thighs, an hour after dinner. Tearing extending from the umbilical region towards the right groin, at 6 P. M. A bubbling pain above the left ilium.
