Abdomen

Hypochondria. Aching at right hypochondrium. Boring pain in left hypochondrium (third day). Slight circumscribed, pressive pain in left hypochondrium (after first day). Stabbing pains in left hypochondrium. Sticking in the left hypochondrium (after one hour, second day). Stitches in right hypochondrium (third day). Tearing shooting pains in right hypochondrium, of short duration. Sensation of soreness in the right hypochondriac region, coming and going off at intervals during the day (after seven hours and a half, second day). Dull pain in hepatic region, increased on taking a full inspiration, and in coughing (third day). Dull, heavy pain in the hepatic region (fourth day). Sticking pinching pain in the hepatic region half an hour after dinner (tenth day). Violent sticking in the region of the liver, aggravated by even slight pressure, in the evening (thirty first day). Slight shooting pain in region of liver (fifth day). Dull, aching pain in liver posteriorly (fifth day). Constant stitches in the liver while walking rapidly, increasing in violence and pre venting farther walking, but soon disappearing, followed after two hours by a pain in the left knee, as from a sprain, which also soon disappears. Violent stitches in the region of the spleen, extending into the lumbar region, aggravated by motion and pressure (thirty first day). Umbilical and sides. Sensation of weakness above the navel (as if he had taken a cathartic), on waking at 5 A.M. (eighth day). Peculiar aching above and to the left of the umbilicus (second day). Pressive pain in a small spot in the intestines to the right of and near the navel (ninety ninth day). Slight pressive pain in region of naval (after three hour, second day). Cutting in the left side of the abdomen, increasing and decreasing in paroxysms, lasting half an hour (first day). Violent sticking pain in the right flank, extending up into the left chest as far as the clavicular region and acromion process, and into the side of the neck, causing a sensation as though the parts were tense or stretched; these stitches were not at all affected by breathing or motion, only aggravated on stooping; the whole attack was very violent, and lasted an hour, accompanied by restlessness and depression of spirits (first day). General Abdomen. Abdomen swollen and tender. Abdomen inflated, and sensitive to the lightest pressure. Very severe gastrointestinal inflammation, with severe cramp in various parts of the body, chiefly calves of legs and inner parts of thighs. Ulceration of the bowels. Distension of abdomen in evening,; after eating. Distension of the abdomen and rumbling in it, as though a watery stool would follow. Great distension of the abdomen (forty eighth day). Great distension and discomfort in the abdomen after dinner (ninety third day). Rumbling in the abdomen. Rumbling in the abdomen, with uncomfortable feeling about the umbilicus (fifteenth day). Rumbling in the intestines, with emission of odorless (sixth day). Rumbling and gurgling in the abdomen. Rumbling and griping in the intestines (ninth day). Rumbling and griping in the abdomen, with discharge of offensive flatulence (twenty third day). Frequent rumbling in the abdomen, followed by profuse pasty evacuation, after which tickling in the rectum persisted for two hours (eighteenth day). Constant rumbling noises and griping in the intestines after breakfast, soon followed by a second very thin evacuation, succeeded by retraction of the anus and some nausea (ninety fifth day). Peculiar rumbling in the intestines, lasting for long time after a stool, followed by eructations of flatulence. Borborygmi, with rumbling in the colon, especially an inspiration (first day). Tension in the abdomen (thirty fourth day). Tension in the abdomen, with heaviness in the stomach, in the evening (seventy seventh day). Feeling of constriction in the abdomen at times (thirty seventh day). Sudden cramp like contractions in the intestines, with nausea, towards noon, lasting a quarter of an hour, and followed by a pasty stool, with subsequent burning and tenesmus in the anus; a similar attack about 4 and also at 10 P. M. (the last, however, not followed by stool). Griping in the abdomen,; (45 drops, third day). Griping in the intestines while walking in the forenoon (sixty ninth day). Griping in the intestines beneath the umbilicus (soon after a new dose), (one hundred and twenty first day). Griping and rumbling in the intestines (twenty seventh day). Griping in the abdomen, with nausea from time to time (thirty second day). Griping in the intestines, followed by a semi liquid stool, with much rumbling in the intestines, in the morning (ninety fifth day). Occasional griping in bowels (40 drops). Frequent griping in the upper abdomen, with without stool (thirty fifth day). Slight griping and rumbling in the abdomen (after a quarter of an hour). Violent griping in the whole abdomen (tenth day). Violent griping pain in the upper and middle abdominal regions, on going out after break fast, so violent that perspiration stood upon the forehead, and I feared it was the commencement of ulceration of the stomach or intestines; the pain, however, soon moderated, and after two hours and a half entirely disappeared (fourteenth day). On being exposed to a draft of air, even on warm or hot days, there was experienced twisting and griping in the abdomen; the stools were usually hard. Cutting, as though one were cutting and piercing the abdomen in all direction with knives (tenth day). Cutting in the abdomen, but more in the parietes than in the intestines, lasting half an hour, towards noon (eighty ninth day). Cutting and griping in the abdomen, as though diarrhoea would follow (thirty first day). Violent cutting and griping in the abdomen (seventh day). Violent cutting and sticking in the intestines. Violent cutting colic, but especially spasmodic constrictions in the upper abdomen. Transient stitches through the abdomen, extend ing backward toward the spine (fifteenth day). Short stitches in the intestines beneath the umbilicus (one hundred and twelfth day). Colic. Colic, which suddenly disappears (twenty sixth to thirtieth day). Repeated attacks of colic (thirty third day). Moderate colic. Severe colic and diarrhoea. The whole abdomen is painful to careless touch, as if sore (thirty first day). Abdomen sensitive and distended the whole day (twenty second and twenty third day). The sensitiveness of the abdomen did not entirely disappear after the last proving; after two months it became worse, and so continued for several weeks. Abdomen very tender in region of sigmoid flexure. A very tender point midway between umbilicus and spine of ilium, evidently the ascending colon, which frequently bulges out (after nine months). Hypogastrium and Iliac Regions. Griping in lower belly, as if something was piercing the bowels; worse on deep inspiration; better on pressure; this lasted for two days. Always awakes with the uneasy feeling in right iliac region (after nine month). Pain fullness in the right inguinal region and right hip joint, transient (sixth day). Pressive pain in the inguinal region, as if a hernia were about to protrude (fourth day). Strong feeling of bearing down towards the right groin (after nine months). Pain in left inguinal region, darting through to the right (sixth day).

Rectum and Anus

Painful retraction of the anus, especially violent on the days when there were no stools, lasting several months. Burning in the anus after a normal evacuation. Burning in the anus after a pasty stool (one hundred and twenty seventh day). Burning in the anus for a long time after a scanty evacuation in the morning (sixty ninth day). Burning and pressure in the anus for a short time in the fore noon (thirty seventh day). Burning pain in the anus. Fullness in the hemorrhoidal vessels (thirty fourth day). Sensation of a plug in the anus while sitting in the afternoon (ninety third day). Dragging in the anus. Dragging and biting in the anus at noon (ninety first day). Dragging in the anus and tenesmus of the sphincter at noon (seventy first day). Dragging and burning in the hemorrhoidal vessels after active exercise (thirty sixth day). Much dragging in the anus after a somewhat hard stool, after wards great pressure in the hemorrhoidal vessels, still later, at times, dragging and pressure in the anus, which even amounted to acute pain during dinner the pain was so violent that he could scarcely sit (ninety fourth day). Great dragging in the hemorrhoidal vessels, with a feeling of soreness in the anus (ninety second day). Indescribable sensation of twinging and pressure in the anus, as though violent diarrhoea would ensue, and sudden relief after the emission of flatulence (seventeenth day). Pressure in the anus at noon (ninety third day). Pressure in the anus after a normal stool (twenty third day). Pressure in the anus after a normal stool (twenty third day). Pressure in the hemorrhoidal vessels, while sitting after active exercise, in the evening (ninety sixth day). Great pressure and burning in the anus, with desire for stool, in the fore noon, but only emission of flatulence; while still at stool, sudden outbreak of perspiration over the skin, especially on the face, where it ran down streams, disappearing as suddenly as it came on (ninety fifth day). Stitches in the anus (one hundred and twenty sixth day). Feeling of soreness in the anus (seventy fourth day). Sore pain in the anus, preventing walking, towards evening. Sore pain in the anus after prolonged motion. Itching in the anus. Violent itching in the anus while walking (fifteenth day). Desire for stool towards noon.
