Stitches in the left hypochondrium, even while sitting, at times followed by sensitiveness of the part. Stitches in the hepatic region. Umbilicus and Sides. Abdomen above the navel tympanitic (after six days). Great tympanitis; the right side of the abdomen especially distended (fourth day). Pain in the umbilical region.

Labor like pains about the navel and in the back, so that the patient lay as in opisthotonos. Griping pain in the navel (third day). Griping, moving about, and dragging below the umbilicus, followed by urging as to diarrhoea, though a consistent stool was passed. Colicky flatulence in the right side (after third dose, second day). Dull stitches in the right side of the abdomen.

Violent griping in the left side of the upper abdomen, extending towards the epigastric region, followed by a sensation of something living there, while standing and sitting. Griping in the left side of the abdomen, and afterwards in the epigastric region. Stitches in the right side of the abdomen, with violent tearing in the head, while sitting. General Abdomen. Great distension of the abdomen; (eighth day). Distension of the abdomen (first two days); (fourth day); (seventh day). Distension of the abdomen caused by moving flatus, with evacuation of a thin stool instead of flatus (first twelve hours); on the second day, with the moving flatus in the abdomen, a bruised pain in the intestines; on the third day, incarceration of flatus in the right side of the abdomen, with pressive pain; on the fourth day, incarceration of flatus in the right side of the abdomen, with griping pain. Abdomen distended and very sensitive (third day).

Abdomen distended and very painful to touch. Abdomen distended, painful (third and fourth days); (third day). Abdomen distended, walls tense (fourth day). Abdomen distended, exceedingly sensitive to the slightest touch. Distension of the abdomen, with some oppression of breath (first day). Flatulent distension of the stomach and abdomen, with inclination to eructate, that, however, did not always relieve. Distension of the abdomen seems to be diminished by taking coffee. At night the abdomen was full and pressed up towards the stomach, especially after midnight it was very much distended. Abdomen distended by flatus, though with emission of much flatus. Abdomen distended, hard, with much flatulence. Abdomen swollen, exceedingly sensitive. Abdomen very full, tense. Abdomen puffy, even with good rapid digestion. Great fulness in the abdomen. Abdomen hard, tense, on eating a little, with little appetite. Abdomen very tense and distended (third day). Abdomen distended, tympanitic (second day). Abdomen greatly distended and tympanitic. Abdomen was somewhat swollen, and was sensitive on pressure (first day). The abdomen was tense, and covered with a cold clammy sweat and extremely sensitive. Fulness in the abdomen immediately after eating, though with appetite. Great relaxation of the abdomen after a soft stool (after three days). Abdomen was retracted (fourth day). Abdomen contracted; pressure excited plaintive cries and irregular movements (after seven days). Easy emission of flatus at times, in the evening, with desire for stool. Emission of much flatus. Frequent emission of flatus, without colic (after four hours). Emission of much odorless flatus (sixth day). Frequent emission of odorless flatus.

Emission of fetid flatulence, in the afternoon and evening. A great deal of offensive wind, with several loose stools. Passing great quantities of loud wind from bowels. Flatulence, with “sinking sensation at the stomach” (fifth evening) Emission of very offensive, at times loud, flatus. Unsatisfactory emission of flatus, in the evening, after lying down. Rising, like flatulence, from the abdomen up to the throat; this was followed by eructations, when it went down. Pressive incarceration of flatus in the lower abdomen while sitting and lying, scarcely at all felt on walking; it seems as though the abdomen were drawn inward, with a disagreeable sensation. Incarceration of flatus, with coldness of the body and heat of the face. Incarceration of flatus beneath the ribs, with oppression of the chest.

Ineffectual efforts to emit flatus (after an hour). Inclination of flatulence, with eructations (after two hours). Very loud rumbling in the abdomen (after an hour). Rumbling in the abdomen.

Great rumbling in the abdomen (first day). Sensation as if the abdomen were entirely full after a very moderate meal, with loud rumbling in the abdomen (third day). Painful rumbling in the abdomen. Rumbling and gurgling in the abdomen, or a sensation as if bubbles of air would burst, with inclination to eructate.

Frequent rumbling in the abdomen, with frequent emission of flatus (first day). Moving about, rumbling, dragging, and gurgling in the abdomen, at times extending towards the sacral region. Rumbling and gurgling in the place of a hernia. Rumbling of flatus in the abdomen, as if diarrhoea would occur (after forty-eight hours). Rumbling and movements in the abdomen (second day). Rumbling in the abdomen, with frequent emission of flatus, worse after supper (first day). Movements in the abdomen (fourth day). Rumbling in the abdomen and desire for stool, without relief (third day). Rumbling in the abdomen, even after eating (after four days). Rumbling in the bowels, but slow stool.

Rumbling and discomfort in the abdomen. The bowels rolled and tumbled about, and were frequently distended with gas (sixth day). Rumbling and gurgling in the abdomen, with emission of much flatus. The symptoms pointed to extension of the inflammation of the mucous membrane of the duodenum, which seemed to close the bile- ducts and cause a great accumulation of bile in the gall- bladder. Tore off with violence everything placed on his abdomen (after seven days). Abdomen extremely sensitive to touch (seventh day). Abdomen sensitive to every touch or change of position.

Sensitiveness in the abdomen, below the navel on pressing upon it. Most violent cramp colic, first in the right side, afterwards extending towards the back (also in the right testicle), and extending upward in the epigastric region, with perspiration, loud groaning, and distortion of the facial muscles (after seven days). Violent colic during the menses (after thirteen days).

Colic and diarrhoea. Colic, without diarrhoea. Violent colic (first day); (third day). Colic. Colic followed by a thin brownish stool (twelfth day). Constrictive colic, with some chilliness. Colic, with pressure below the left short ribs and accumulation of water in the mouth (second day). Colic, with frequent ineffectual desire for stool. Paroxysmal colic about the navel, extending inward, with nausea and accumulation of water in the mouth; pressure of the hand over the fundus of the stomach was very sensitive. Colic relieved by bending up and lying on the right side. Woke with cutting colic, lasting an hour, at 1 A.M.

(after twenty-one days). Colic, with rumbling in the abdomen and empty eructations (first day). Violent cutting colic. Violent cutting colic, in the evening, before going to sleep. Flatulent colic, especially in the sides of the abdomen, as from incarceration of flatus here and there; flatus was passed within twelve hours, though in short interrupted emissions, with great exertion. Attacks of colic starting from the place of a hernia and extending to the stomach. Colic pain, as if diarrhoea would occur, transient, but frequently renewed, followed, on pressing inward above the ileum, by a violent sore pain. Colic, with sore and sticking pain, relieved by lying upon the abdomen. Colic, in the morning, preceding a hard stool. Twisting colic, with much rumbling, in the abdomen, at noon and evening, after eating.

Sticking colic, with paleness of the face, chilliness, and headache, at noon (after twelve days). Violent griping in the abdomen at 2 A.M., followed by a thin stool, that is succeeded by burning in the anus; repeated at 5 A.M. Violent griping pains in the abdomen. Severe griping pain in the bowels, with tenesmic inclination to stool (third day). Frequent griping in the abdomen, as if diarrhoea would occur. Spasmodic griping and constriction below the navel, as if in the uterus, in the evening, during and after stooping. Griping in the abdomen, after dinner. Griping in the abdomen, followed by sour-smelling fecal diarrhoea, then by some tenesmus and burning, with erection, in the morning. Griping and moving about in the abdomen, with diarrhoea of brown liquid, followed by some burning, and relief of the pain. Griping and cutting in the upper abdomen, as from a purge, while walking. Feeling of general discomfort and fulness in the abdomen, just above the navel (sixth day). Sensation of great emptiness in the abdomen, after emission of much flatus (after nine days). Emptiness and a feeling of weakness in the abdomen. Feeling of great weakness in the abdomen and back, so that she was obliged to lie down (after twenty-eight days).
