CORYZA.
DRY CORYZA-
Smell abnormally acute; lost, with dry coryza.
Sneezing in the morning; nose dry.
Alternately fluent and dry coryza.
FLUENT CORYZA-
Periodical attacks of fluent coryza of short duration, with continually stopped nose and breathing through the mouth.
DISCHARGES-
None; or, alternately fluent and dry.
Painfully dry: chronic, offensive, slimy or purulent mucus; nose sore when blowing it.
Sore, cracked nostrils.
Yellowish, thick, fetid mucus.
WORSE-
In cold air; and in open air.
SENSATIONS-
Smell abnormally acute, with fluent CORYZA.
Nose painfully dry; smell lost.
Soreness of nose when blowing it.
Nose continually stopped.
Chronic hoarseness.
Voice impaired; cracked in singing.
COUGH.
DRY COUGH-
Hoarse, dry suffocative cough at night, which is relieved by eating.
Spasmodic, suffocative breathing, wakens him out of sleep.
Must jump out of bed and hold himself firmly.
Straining, strangling cough; passes wind when coughing.
Cough at night, better from eating.
Tickling cough, from soreness and roughness in larynx.
LOOSE COUGH-
Loose cough, from tickling low down in the chest, with loose sputa; provoked by deep inspiration.
SPUTA-
Wanting (first stage), cough dry.
Loose, tickling sputa.
Salty, day and night.
WORSE-
At night; relieved by eating.
From deep inspiration, loose cough.
When falling asleep, dry cough.
After falling asleep, dry cough wakens him in a spasm of dyspnoea and coughing.
BETTER-
From eating anything whatever.
SENSATIONS-
Strangling cough.
Deep inspiration provokes loose cough.
Constriction of chest, especially when falling asleep; chest feels too narrow.
Suffocative paroxysms, that waken him out of sleep; must jump out of bed and hold himself firmly.
Lower chest feels raw and sore, like raw flesh.
Pain in middle of chest with cough; scraping rawness and soreness.
SPECIAL-
Tendency to humid eczema.
Painless swollen glands on neck.
Women inclined to obesity, and habitual constipation.
