CORYZA.
FLUENT CORYZA–
Profuse, fluent coryza, with much sneezing.
Eyes red, watery and smarting, with aversion to light. (First stage.)
Violent irritation to sneeze, without having taken cold.
Profuse fluent coryza in the morning, with much cough and expectoration, nose swollen inside.
DISCHARGES–
Profuse muco-purulent discharge, both by blowing the nose and by hawking from posterior nares; inner nose sore and painful. (Second stage.)
Profuse: bland from the nose, acrid from the eyes, causing burning and itching: with aversion to light.
WORSE–
In the open air, and from strong light (eyes), In the evening, and at night, lying down.
COUGH.
DRY COUGH–
No cough at night.
Tickling cough, with irritation of larynx.
Cough with severe coryza : it is difficult during the day, with scanty sputa : no cough at night: but in morning cough with copious sputa.
LOOSE COUGH–
Cough begins as soon as he rises; constant, continuous until he lies down.
Loose morning cough, no cough at night, not much during day after morning cough is over: deep inspiration difficult even when sitting.
Tickling in larynx, causes cough, worse from tobacco smoke.
SPUTA–
Profuse mucus in morning, scanty during day, none at night. Profuse discharge of mucus by hawking.
WORSE–
In morning : from tobacco smoke.
By day : from tickling in larynx.
BETTER–
At night: when lying down.
From sipping water : from eating.
RESPIRATION–
Deep inspiration difficult, even when sitting.
SPECIAL–
Cough by day, none at night, Worse in morning.
Loose cough, with copious expectoration.
