Dull pressure on the back of the right foot; in the lumbar vertebrae; between the left scapula and spine. Pressive and tearing pains, worse towards evening, about 5 o’clock; worse during rest; especially in the knees, dorsal muscles, elbows, hands, temples, and finger-joints. Dull pressive pain deep in the angle of the lower jaw, now of the left, now of the right side; also in the flesh of the left upper arm, in the ankle, and in the dorsal muscles. Transient tearing, rheumatic pains, especially on moving. The limbs and whole body are painful, as if bruised and beaten. It was very noticeable that the pains changed their location suddenly. Symptoms change from place to place, remain but a moment, and frequently recur. At times the left side seems more affected than the right. The left side seemed throughout to be more affected than the right; the symptoms seemed not only more numerous, but more severe on the left side of the body. Symptoms are usually more numerous and worse towards evening. The pains were aggravated in the evening from 5 o’clock until lying down, but not in bed; the nights were free from pain, except on waking, which, however, was not caused by the pains; the warmth of the bed, also, did not aggravate the pains. All symptoms occur while sitting; while the limbs are quiet, the symptoms appear in them, in the arms while walking, and not in the legs, or only very slightly. The pains in the joints, etc. diminish gradually after 9 P. M. and are not at all felt during the night. Symptoms entirely disappeared after taking Camphor.
