The pains increase towards evening, in the knees, tibiae, ankles, and shoulders; hitherto they have appeared only during rest, but at this time (fifth day of the proving) they are also noticed in the knees while walking, as a severe pressure lasting for a few minutes. The pains in the joints only are worse on motion, not those in other parts. The limbs, when not in motion, were almost entirely free from symptoms. The pains in the joints were not worse on motion; on the contrary, while they lasted, they could only be relieved by moving the affected part; when the limb was in motion, the pains were much less severe than when it was at rest.
