Introduction

What relation have matter and energy to the manifestations of disease in human beings and to the homoeopathic system of medicine?

A very close and important relation, because disease consists primarily of a perverted energy activity within the domain of a human being, induced by an outside irritant of toxins; and the Homoeopathic system of medicine is based on the principle of energy activity in matter. In fact, the homoeopathic method of treating sick people and the value of potentized medicines cannot well be understood unless one is familiar with energy activity in matter the operation of the finer forces in nature.

Can we prove this statement by natural laws?

Yes, by the fact that all physical matter is basically condensed and concentrated primary energy; and that all changes in matter are the results of an energy activity, induced into a body of matter by an outside force. The force producing this change may be either harmonious and orderly or discordant and disruptive; hence thee results of such activity would naturally partake of the nature and quality of the causative force, either harmonious and orderly or irritating, disorderly and disruptive. Applying this principle to the primary cause of disease we note the following:

First, health is primarily harmonious functioning activity of the various glands, organs and part of thee body, supervised and vitalized by the life forces of thee body.

Second, any outside force or energy of an irritating or poisonous nature induced or injected into the body would naturally disarrange or disrupt the normal functional activity of the part affected. This disruption or dysfunctioning of the affected organ or parts would generate an energy similar in nature and kind to the irritating force and antagonistic and disruptive to the normal functional activity of thee organs or parts affected.

Third, such antagonistic activity within the body would derange and upset the normal state of health and produce symptoms of ill health and disease.

From the foregoing statements it is self-evident that the principles and laws which govern energy activity in matter have a definite relation to thee phenomenon in human beings called ill health and disease.

Is there any medicinal strength or curative power in the small sweet powders the homoeopathic physician prescribes for his patients?

From a chemical or physiological standpoint of drug activity there is none, because the crude drug substance has been removed by a process of potentization; but from the standpoint of medicinal energy they contain medicinal strength and have the power to eliminate and cure disease, when similar in kind and nature to the symptoms of the patient.

How does potentized medicine eliminate or cure disease?

It cures by virtue of its similarity in energy activity to the symptoms of the patient. When a potentized medicine is administrated to a sick person and the medicinal energy is similar in kind, nature and activity to the disease energy active in the patient, these two forces meet within the body and by virtues of their similarity in vibratory activity neutralize each other and when the diseased energy continued as an active process. This gives the life force of the body which was resume its normal activity in the part of the body which was ill or diseased and restore it to normal functioning.

Does the remedy act directly on the life force or on the diseased energy activity within the patient?

The remedy acts directly on the diseased energy activity within the body, and not on the life force itself. As we know the medicinal energy is similar unkind and nature to the disease, and as the disease process is disharmonious and disturbing to the normal activity of the life force it follows that the medicinal energy must act on the diseased energy to which it is similar, and not on the life force. The life force could not create and maintain life in human bodies were it subject to disruption by disease forces and activities. It must be perfect because it emanates from the great creative principle of all life; hence cannot be influenced or affected by irritating and disruptive outside forces. However, its harmonious activities within the body or part thereof can become disturbed and disrupted by outside irritating forces and poisons, and in this way the life force may temporarily lose its vitalizing and controlling influence of an organ or a part of the body thus affected.

Does ill health and disease affect the magnetic energy of the body, or the body “magnetism”?

Yes, profoundly. We have stated before that the magnetism of the body is the stored-up vital energy within the cells and glands of the body, the product of a harmonious life activity. This vital energy may be sapped and become exhausted by the action of ill health and disease and in the measure the vital energy of body is depleted it may seem that the disease would affect the life force itself but it cannot. Ill health and disease can only exhaust the vital energy of the body but not the life force itself.

What is the actual difference between a dilution and a potency?

The actual difference is that the dilution is weak in medicinal strength, while a potency is strong in medicinal energy. A teaspoonful of thee tincture of belladonna put into barrel of water would make a very high dilution but would contain no medicinal strength. A potency, on the other hand, is a medicine in which the medicinal energy of the drug has been liberated from the crude drug substance by a process of potentization and forced into a new media or an inert menstrum in which it is confined to space and limited in quantity.

How is a potency made?

A potency is made from thee tincture of a drug or a medicine. The first step in this process is to dilute one part of the tincture with either nine or ninety-nine parts of alcohol or sugar of milk, depending upon whether the decimal or centesimal scale is used. The next step is to take one-tenth or one hundredth part of the first dilution and put this into nine or ninety-nine parts of alcohol or sugar of milk; this process of dividing and subdividing the medicine is continued until the desired potency had been reached. So far they are only dilutions, but to insure a perfect permeation of the medicinal energy into menstrum or media and to make a potency of each dilution the bottle must be shaken or agitated or treated by a number of so- called succussion movements until every particle of the crude drug substance has been broken up and energy permeated or impregnated into the menstrum or media of each potency.

Are the lower dilutions and potencies homoeopathic in their relation to a case of ill health or disease?

Yes, if the provings brought out by the lower dilutions and potencies were similar to the symptoms presented by the patient; but they are naturally weaker in medicinal energy than the higher potencies because only a part of the medicinal energy has been liberated from the crude drug substance.

Could a dilution or a low potency act physiologically on the patient?

Yes, if the dilution or the potency still retains enough of the crude drug substance to cause a reflex nerve reaction on the body

At what dilution or potency is all crude drug substance supposed to be entirely eliminated from the potentized medicine?

At the sixth centesimal potency and up.

A- The therapeutic application of the homoeopathic principles in the treatment of acute diseases.

B- The nature of chronic miasms, and the cause and treatment of chronic diseases. C- Conclusions.
