Antimonium tartaricum

11. M. CHAUPPE divided the two pneumogastrics in a dog, which was then allowed to rest till the vomiting provoked by the operation had entirely ceased. He then made a subcutaneous or intra-venous injection of an emetic dose of the substance whose action he was desirous of investigating. With tart. em., vomiting occurred as quickly and as freely in all instances as when the nerves were intact; and more so than when the drug was introduced into the stomach. (Gaz. Medorrhinum de Paris, Aug. Ist, 1874.).
