Relationship

Very Similar are Laches., Naja and Elaps.; distinctions, therefore, are mainly relative. Crotal. is preferable in fluid hemorrhages, yellow skin (hence in yellow fever with black vomit, etc.), epistaxis of diphtheria. Naja has more nervous phenomena. Laches. has skin cold and clammy, rather than cold and dry; hemorrhages with charred straw sediment and more preferable in otorrhoea, and in affections of the right lung. The cobra-poison coagulates blood into long strings.

The Crotal. poison is acid; the Viper natural. The “Rattle- Snake” causes more sloughing than any other.

Compare also: Tarent. cub, Arsen. Lauroc. (tetanus, whooping- cough), Apis-carb. veg, Silic (vaccination), Camphor. (in coldness; probably Crotal. has more marked genuine collapse, with confused speech, etc.).

Effects modified by : Ammonium, Camphor., Opium., Coffea., Alcohol, radiated heat.
