HOW TO CURE THE SICK

The prescriber should not only ask what is eaten and drunk. He should ascertain the way in which the food is cooked. Overlong cooking of vegetables and stews destroys the vitamins. Simmering for countless hours will make the food more palatable, but will ruin it. The addition of soda or bicarbonate of soda to the water in which vegetables are cooked destroys the vitamins.

THE CANCER PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION

Unfortunately the homoeopathic physician receives cancer patients as a rule only when it is too late. The cancerous are as a rule rushed to the surgeon and in innumerable cases the disease is terribly aggravated by surgery in every form. I have not seen a single case in which radium has produced a cure, but I have seen a large number in which radium has driven the previously local disease all over the body.

THE CANCER PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION

It frequently happens that an X-ray or radium worker had the first outbreak of skin cancer on a finger ten, fifteen or twenty years after he had burned it with the deadly rays. It also happens that X-ray and radium workers have the first outbreak of ray cancer, on their fingers, ten or more years after they have left off using the rays.

Orthodox Medicine & Homoeopathy – A Comparison

Medicine is ruled by fashion not by sense or by science. A century ago it was the fashion to “bleed profusely” even people who were dying of lack of blood or who had lost much blood from injury. Without any sense bleeding and leeching have been abandoned, and now every doctor uses the subcutaneous syringe. The journal. The Lancet, should be re-christened.

A CASE OF GLAUCOMA

The lady told me that about forty years previously, after child- birth, there was considerable sagging of the abdominal organs, and that ever since she had been terribly constipated. She produced, as a rule, a single motion a week, by means of a strong soap enema. One one day a week she had an artificially produced motion, and for six days she was constipated and absorbed the foulest putrefactive material from her bowel.

HOW TO RELIEVE THE INCURABLE

Homoeopathy has the glory of having cured hundreds of cancer cases who have been declared absolutely incurable by orthodox doctors and surgeons. Every able homoeopathic practitioners has effected cures of cancer. Unfortunately homoeopaths receive cancer cases as a rule, only when it is too late to cure them, and when orthodox medicine has done its best, or its worst, with operations, radium, etc.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

Hahnemann laid down the principles of the new art and science of healing in a large number of books, pamphlets and articles, especially in his Organon of The Art of Healing for the guidance of his disciples and his successors. In his writings the founder of Homoeopathy insisted that treatment should be given in single and very rare doses of a single medicine administrated at rare intervals such as once a month, or less frequently.

A BAD CASE OF TUBERCULOSIS

Obviously her troubles were largely due to the measles infection which she had had many years ago because Morbillinum caused an outbreak looking exactly like measles. Pyrogen 200 was also obviously indicated because in the right side where she had the old abscess there came “A throbbing like a gathering”, I sent her a similar selection of medicines as those which she had during the previous week.

HEART DISEASE AND GALL BLADDER TROUBLE

I believe the diagnosis was gall stones followed by serious developments in the gall bladder. He pleaded for medicinal treatment because he feared a grave operation, but he was told that nothing else could be done, and that it was quite useless to go to England and see the leading consultants because the medical profession had agreed that for his trouble there was nothing but radical operation.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

The unfortunate individual, who had hoped that a few doses of medicine would improve his trouble, leaves the doctors consulting room deeply disheartened. He did not know that he had an enlarged prostate and he dreads the visit to the bladder specialist who will charge him a number of guineas. He discusses the position with his friends and relatives, and at last makes up his mind that he will see the bladder specialist.

WAS IT PARALYSIS AGITANS

In sending him directions, I wrote: “I do not know whether one should dignify a slight trembling with such a long Latin name. I prefer to call your complaint an ordinary trembling, which you find in many people. In your case it seems that the condition of trembling has existed in your family for generations, for your grandfather was afflicted with a similar trouble.”

CHRONIC ASTHMA

Hitherto slight over-exertion had brought about a violent asthmatic attack. One day young McD. took part with the other body in a field drill. The boys marched out with rifles and had to do a good deal of running. Probably the youngster greatly over-strained himself. Anyway his strength gave way, he felt very ill and came home in a fever, but to the amazement of his parents there was no asthmatic attack.

EYE TROUBLES AND THEIR CURE

Some decades ago very eminent orthodox oculist in America, the late Dr. Bates, did what Hahnemann did one hundred and fifty years ago for Homoeopathy. Although brought up in the orthodox way he abandoned the usual method of the oculist and endeavored to improve eyesight by carefully devised methods of eye gymnastics, eye exercises and so forth, and he enabled thousands of people to discard their spectacles.

HEART FAILURE

An enormous quantity of gas arises from the indigestible food. The stomach taken on the shape of a balloon and the bloated stomach presses on the heart which begins to labour with difficulty. If the man would lie down immediately, following his instinct, al would be well, but he has begun his speech and he is determined to go on.

SALADS

Thus a salad may be made a highly nutritious dish, and endless combinations may be produced. Further, there should be a tasty dressing. A good dressing may be made with oil, vinegar and lemon juice, but there are many delightful dressings which will be found in any good cookery book. Salt, pepper and mustard should be used sparingly and occasionally sugar should be added instead of these.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol is germicidal. The Ancients cleaned wounds with wine and spirits. Even now in hospital practice wounds are frequently cleaned with alcohol. Alcohol is not only a good outer germicide in the case of wounds, etc., but is apparently also an excellent internal germicide. In many countries where the water is unwholesome the natives pour wine in the water to destroy the disease germs.

CHILLS, COLDS AND THEIR SEQUELS

In cases of severe chills Aconite should be taken every five or ten minutes. If the chill is very severe, Camphor in the form of Camphor pills or Camphor spirit should be taken. The latter may be taken in hot water, or a few drops should be taken on lump sugar at intervals. Another useful chill remedy is Ferrum Phosphoricum 2x or 3x, which is one of the tissue remedies.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

One can discover a great deal by interrogation. It is frequently quite unnecessary to examine the patient. However, it is advantageous to follow up the interrogation by a physical examination of the body as a whole. The patient complaining of rheumatism is, let us say, a man aged 48. He has told the prescriber all he knows, answering the numerous questions put to him.

THE MYSTERIES OF HOMOEOPATHY

The higher potencies are usually marked on the centesimal scale. Aconite 1 means that one-hundredth of a grain of Aconite is contained in a grain of the medicine. The indication Sulphur 3 means that there is a millionth of a grain of Sulphur in a grain of the medicine. The indication Ferrum 6 means that there is a billionth of a grain of iron in a grain of medicine.

DISEASES OF THE MIND

The delusions from which patients are pat to suffer are past counting. Some see ghosts, others see spiders or rats. Some find that all objects look very tall, others that they look very small. Some feel sure that they are being poisoned, that people are laughing at them, others are sure that they are in their grave, or that something terrible is going to happen, etc. For those afflicted with a fear complex, Scutellaria will prove most useful.

FRUIT INTOLERANCE

The day that she visited me she showed me the palms of her hands, which were covered with a nasty rash. She took up my treatment with enthusiasm. To her hesitation, and only owing to my constant urging, she tried a little fruit such as a strawberry or a fragment of apple. To her amazement the fruit agreed with her, and after a few weeks she could eat any quantity of raw and cooked fruit, even the most acid, such as gooseberries, agreed with her.

GALLSTONES

Characterizing the suitable drugs, we may differentiate between drug indicated in cases of constipation: Belladonna, Berberis, Bryonia, Carduus, Lycopodium, Magnesium muriat., Natrum chlorinicum and Nux vomica; and drugs indicated in cases of diarrhoea: Baptisia, Chelidonium, China, Mercurius, Natrum sulf., Phosphor., Podophyllum, Quassia, Taraxacum, Sulphur.

A CASE OF GIDDINESS

They are unable to swim properly, and float about in the most extraordinary positions and can be caught with the hand. It is a wonderful remedy for many forms of giddiness and also for sea-sickness, but of course in each case of giddiness and of sea-sickness the various remedies which can be employed have to be considered and weighed against one another before deciding one of them.

A BAD HEART CASE

Her heat and general health improved steadily. Instead of looking frail she began to look sturdy. She gained further weight, and before long she had put on more than a stone of solid flesh. All her friends were amazed at her improvement, and her doctors, who had given her no hope, could not understand what had happened to her. Even the most unpromising cases should never be neglected. Even in the most serious cases there may be a hidden reserve of strength.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

The same applies to he doctor who hands over his desk the prescription of a full diet, fresh air and cod liver oil to the tuberculous, the white mixture to those suffering from indigestion, a restricted diet and insulin to the diabetic, and sends all cancer patients to the surgeon. The doctor should not do the minimum of work for his patients but the maximum.

SOME BAD INDIGESTION CASES

The hands of poor Miss C. were absolutely useless. They were completely distorted. She could not wipe her nose. I took one of her hands, manipulated it vigorously, and immediately it became slightly usable. Meanwhile the passes I had made on her head, the dose of Ignatia, and my general attitude had obviously done good. Miss C. looked distinctly better and brighter, and could not deny it when she looked into the mirror.

SLEEP

Elaborate instructions for securing sleep by certain exercises, certain postures, by counting imaginary sheep passing, certain postures, by counting imaginary sheep passing thought a gate, etc., are worthless in most cases. Those who cannot sleep should try to get the most complete physical and mental rest by lying quietly, thoroughly relaxed, with the eyes closed. It is disastrous to switch on the light and read, turning night into day.

CANCER OF THE SWALLOWING TUBE

However, I refuse to give up a patient, even if his condition seems desperate and hopeless. One night, while thinking about my difficult cases, it occurred to me that the most horrible sticky phlegm is produced by dogs who suffer from hydrophobia. I had never seen a case of hydrophobia, but I had seen illustrations of dogs suffering from this ghastly disease, dragging behind them rope-like strands of horrible phlegm.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

Many homoeopathic doctors have told me that my homoeopathic prescriptions were inadequate, and that my successes were due to my diet. If doctors tell me this, I usually reply: “You know from my writings what diets I give to people. If I have such great successes owing to my dietetic prescription, why do you not act similarly? If you did, your successes in treatment would be much greater”.

A BAD CASE OF BOILS

Septicity of the body is favoured by the consumption of flesh, fish and fowl, which produce putrefaction, so she was to live on a strict vegetarian diet, her bowels were to be moved with the help of large quantities of bran, the most strengthening food which I know, and which, incidentally is very rich in iron and is valuable for the anaemic. The lady had come to me complaining of violent earache. Earache is one of the worst pains known.

NATURE CURE

Fasting is probably the most potent treatment of the nature curer. A strict and prolonged fast is extremely searching. The body, which is deprived of food, melts down the substance of the patient, but it does not do this indiscriminately. It singles out those parts of the body which are more or less useless. If an individual is fasting, the superfluous fat is melted down to keep the body alive.

NERVE WEAKNESS

In every case of nerve weakness we must carefully enquire not only into the occupation of the patient, his inheritance, etc., but also carefully study the patients diet. In most cases it will be found that the diet is a highly artificial one, that the patient lives principally on refined foods from which the essential elements have been abstracted, with a view to making the food more attractive to the eye, more easy to chew, etc.

THE DOCTOR SHOULD BE A DETECTIVE

The true diagnostician must possess experience, instinct, vision, and he must act like a detective. It is useless to examine the organs of the chest and the abdomen, and to let loose a team of ten or more diagnostic specialists who may waste weeks in an attempt at an exact diagnosis if the cause of the disease is to be found in marital unhappiness, in fear of disgrace, in the fear that some youthful escapade may become known.

MY TESTAMENT OF HEALING

The book is written in the plainest and simplest language, understandable to every layman. I should enable thousands who wish to practise the art of healing to take it up. It is necessary to study stodgy text-books written in un-understandable pseudo-scientific language. Common sense is infinitely more valuable than pseudoscience, or theory which masquerades as science.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK – SOME GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

A gynaecological disorder may be due to unsatisfactory sex relations or to lack of harmony between husband and wife, or to the fact that the woman has a bad foot, throws her weight upon the other foot causing the spine to be dragged out of position, with resulting pressure on nerves which control the function of the sex organs. Then we must attend to the foot and the spine rather than give homoeopathic remedies.

PLANTS AND HOMOEOPATHY

A copper coin shows no sign of wear even if kept in the water for several days. This shows that flowers are extremely susceptible to the stimulus supplied by copper in infinitely small quantity. I shall experiment with copper in infinitely small quantity. I shall experiment with copper in a homoeopathic form, and then it will be clear how flowers react to homoeopathic medicines.

TOBACCO

Inhalation of smoke is undesirable; those who draw smoke into the lungs are liable to the possibility of lung cancer. The taking of snuff seems to be very useful for those who have very dry noses and are liable to colds beginning in the nose. It is an excellent disinfectant of the nasal passages.

ENLARGED TONSILS

The pale and anaemic child whose case I have described needed building up. I gave her plenty of bran, especially as she was constipated, eggs, milk, cheese, an abundance of raw fruit, vegetables, salading, wholemeal bread, etc., and the diet led to the disappearance of her anaemia, to the strengthening of the body, and the strengthened body could, of course, more easily normalize the abnormal tonsils.

THE CURATIVE EFFECT OF HIGH AND VERY HIGH POTENCIES

In view of the enormous amount of manual labour needed to prepare high potencies such as the 100,000th, very high potencies are, as a rule, prepared by machinery. These machines are built around a little bottle. A drop of drug is put into the bottle and the machine is set going. A small tap fills the bottle, a small arm closes it with a stopper, and then the bottle is vigorously shaken and emptied of all but one drop.

TRUE DIAGNOSIS ONE MUST LOOK FOR THE CAUSE

The patient had been very athletic since childhood. He had been boxing since he was a youngster, he had frequently been knocked down, had received many blows on the head, and there was the possibility, though perhaps slight, that an injury to the head might have caused his trouble. For injuries Arnica is a sovereign remedy, and therefore he was to be given Arnica.

HOW TO TREAT WOUNDS

HOW TO TREAT WOUNDS. Commonsense methods are all that is needed to produce healing of wounds. Soapy water is an excellent cleanser and a perfect disinfectant. Blood is another disinfectant. A wound which has bled adequately has been disinfected by nature. If we wish to treat the wound with a disinfectant, the best thing to use is Calendula. Tincture of Calendula can be obtained from every homoeopathic chemist and is invaluable.

SOUPS

SOUPS. Delicious soups my be made of vegetables alone. Numerous recipes may be found in every good cook book, and it is not necessary to strengthen vegetable soups with meat, meat gravy, animal fat, etc. A meat flour can be given with Marmite or any of the other yeast products, and additional nourishment may be supplied by thickening soups with pea flour, bean flour, lentil flour, cheese, etc.

HOW TO CURE THE SICK

HOW TO CURE THE SICK. IF a student of medicine has learned a great deal in the orthodox medical schools or by study and self tuition, then he will have to handle patients. The efficiency and ability of the doctor are shown in the way he manages the sick and ailing who come to him. One can imagine a doctor of the greatest competence who nevertheless fails with his patients because he has not the right way with them. I knew two very eminent consultants. One was a specialist in disease of the digestive tract and the other was a mere specialist.

CHRONIC FITS

Still, he has never taken it since the first week he was under you, and he is a different lad. I feel sure if he could take his school leaving exam now he would pass. They had done nothing but tell him he never would succeed, and thus they had stupefied his mind. I bless the day when I saw your journal in a window in Wigmore Street with an article by you on an epilepsy cure that led me to you”.

DIARRHOEA

There are in the homoeopathic Materia Medica a large number of medicines which have wonderful effects in diarrhoea. These should be studied with the help of the homoeopathic books. Among the most frequently indicated is Arsenic, which is, of course, a poison, but which is not dangerous at all if used in the 6x potency. Arsenic is an excellent remedy for diarrhoea, including diarrhoea containing blood.

MEDICINES AND THEIR USE

The orthodox doctor knows little about the evil effects of vaccination. Every homoeopath knows that vaccination is often followed throughout life by many serious consequences and disabilities, by the formation of soft growths such as moles, and by many inward complications. Such patients recover rapidly if vaccination is antidoted with Thuja, Vaccinosium, Variolinum, and other remedies.

MY TESTAMENT OF HEALING

Every word of it breathes hope and confidence and it teaches the spirit of emulation. This book is a worthy follower of the many interesting volumes Mr. Ellis Barker has written on chronic diseases and their treatment by natural methods of healing, and we trust it will not be the last will and testament from his able pen.

CHRONIC BRONCHITIS

When he came to me he looked extremely frail, and he had been very depressed by the fact that an attempt to escape the rigour of the English winter had been a failure, because on his return form Jamaica he had been attacked by influenza, which had left him very weak. He loved England, loved his country place, loved shooting, and did not like to go abroad.

A CASE OF GLAUCOMA

The lady told me that about forty years previously, after child- birth, there was considerable sagging of the abdominal organs, and that ever since she had been terribly constipated. She produced, as a rule, a single motion a week, by means of a strong soap enema. On one day a week she had an artificially produced motion, and for six days she was constipated and absorbed the foulest putrefactive material from her bowel.

WATER SOFTENERS AND MEDICATED TABLE SALT

Those readers of mine who have positive observations to offer on the various salts would put all of us under a great obligation. The use of iodized salt is of course not permissible. Iodine is an extremely dangerous drug which no wise doctor will readily order for the sick. Many people in perfect health swallow iodized salt and other medicated salts day after day because of some wretched theory out of which the manufacturers of these salts make a large income.

INSULIN AND ITS ANTIDOTE

Some time ago a Miss H., living in a large town in the provinces, came to me complaining of diabetes. She had, of course, been given insulin long ago by her doctor, and she was injecting it every day, a number of times, in accordance with the results of the sugar test of her urine. Lately she started complaining to me about unclearness in the head and various other symptoms, which suggested to me the beginnings of insulin poisoning.

PSORIASIS AND GENERAL WEAKNESS

With regard to the psoriasis it is certainly not worse, and I see slight signs of improvement. The patches are not easy to assess, as the appearance varies from day to day, according to the amount of dry skin on the surface. I quite 18 months. This was over eight years ago. I felt it had been a waste of money. After trying one treatment after another, I have so often come to a similar conclusion.

AN OBSCURE BLADDER CASE

In prescribing for my patient I acted on the assumption that his trouble was probably due to scarlatina and vaccinal poisoning. Needless to say his condition was aggravated by an unsuitable diet which included meat, bacon, coffee two or three times a day, etc. I gave him a strengthening, blood clearing and eliminating diet, extremely rich in vitamins.

DEATH OF DR GEORGE BURFORD

Especially in later years he sacrificed a good deal of time and energy regarding well-paying patients in order to keep poor sufferers in comfort. Of course you know he gained a university medal at Aberdeen. In religion he was earnest and convinced rather than orthodox. He always tried to make Gods way his way. He had a rich sense of humour with a good deal of wholesome irony and satire.

A SCANDAL CASE FROM NEW ZEALAND

The first indication of an attack is a slight soreness and stiffening of the area surrounding, both of which gradually increase until the pain becomes so severe that I find it necessary to place myself in the hands of a surgeon. This condition is accompanied by rising temperature, but the latter, together with the pain, etc., immediately begin to disappear as soon as the affected area has been opened and the pus or decayed bone removed.

THE CANCER PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION

One always reads the same story; first one finger is amputated, then another, then a third finger, then the hand, then the arm half-way up to the elbow, then up to the elbow, then up to the shoulder, and so on until the unfortunate individual dies of generalized cancer specialists, unfortunately all surgeons, preach that cancer is a local disease and that it can be cured only by operation.

COD LIVER OIL

The applications are made three times a day, and atropine is used as well if the disease would normally require it. The treatment appears to reduce the number of necessary attendances. Mr. Bernard Chevasse has also been using the oil with very satisfactory results, especially in blepharitis and general soreness of the lids. The treatment is harmless, and can be used in conjunction with other remedies.

THE CORRECT DIET

The Hay diet may possibly be of value to some people here and there, but it is far too difficult to manage for the average person. Dr. Hay is a man of considerable enthusiasm which has helped him in his propaganda and his theory is plausible. One of his predecessors was Mr. Horace Fletcher who flourished greatly on minute quantities of food chewed for hours.

A VERY UNUSUAL CASE OF DIABETES

The combined effect of these things has produced at times a deep physical and mental prostration. I have the strong conviction, were I free from these troubles, that diabetes would have gone completely. As to insulin, I am happy to say that I have not injected any insulin for practically two years. You remember when I visited you, you told me not to discontinue the insulin until the sugar disappeared from the urine.

EUPHRASIA, THE HERB FOR EYE TROUBLES

Euphrasia is an exceedingly valuable remedy for many disorders, for it is excellent for watery eyes, burning and swelling of the lids and discharge of acrid matter, for a bad kind of head cold which is accompanied by burning lachrymation and by a bland discharge from the nose.

DIETETIC NONSENSE

There is no nutritive science. He who tries to regulate his intake by means of the fatuous information supplied by the professors of dietists, will fail. Three of the highest nutritional authorities I know suffer all three from serious digestive troubles. One has had serious gastric and duodenal ulcers, and has undergone a short circuit operation, and the other two are in a singularly deplorable state.

HOW TO FIND THE SIMILLIMUM THE REPERTORISER

The Repertoriser will, no doubt, be welcome to those who are of a studious and mechanical turn of mind, and who are very conscientious and who are bewildered by the masses of information contained in the printed Repertory. Of course when a drug corresponds to the patients symptoms, the prescriber must not prescribe the indicated drug blindly.

AN ENLARGED PROSTATE CURE

What makes me feel I must write to you is this. I have lost only this week another old friend of mine. He was suddenly afflicted by stoppage of the urine and the doctor said that nothing could be done except an operation. He was operated upon and next morning he was dead. He had been a strong healthy man and was 65 years old.

A PROSTATE CASE

There were ups and downs in his condition, but on the whole he improved. On July 25th the patient reported: “One evening last week pressure to urinate came very frequent. I had to go to a meeting that night of an hours duration. I attended to myself before going in; I had to go out in about ten minutes, and again in a half-hour, and immediately the meeting closed.

CURES OF A BEGINNER

Remedy changed to Rhus tox. 3x for one month. On April 7th patient called; no pain in last month– swelling gone and both feet and hands absolutely flexible. The feet so flexible that I discontinued further treatment lest there be some trouble in the opposite direction to that which existed primarily. This is, naturally, may real pet case to date.

HOW HOMOEOPATHY CURES WHEN ORTHODOX MEDICINE HAS FAILED

People did not wish to employ him because of his appearance. He was tall, thin, complained about icy feet with a wet stocking sensation, had always been constipated. He perspired heavily either from weakness or owing to a tuberculous tendency, had a sinking feeling at 11 in the morning, felt best in hot weather and was very tidy.

A FOX TERRIERS HEART DISEASE

Further the heart should be given some support, by a suitable tonic. In immediate reply I asked the lady to give the animal as much water to drink as she liked and to feed her on the minimum of raw meat and nothing else. I sent her at the same time a box of Crataegus, mother tincture tablets, one to be given every two hours.

A GREAT HOMOEOPATHIC CLASSIC

Orthodox medicine experiments on animals and then on patients, frequently with disastrous results, because animals react differently from men. Hahnemann, seeing the faultiness of this procedure, experimented on himself with complete unselfishness and at the risk of injuring himself.

A CASE OF KIDNEY STONES

This is one of the most rapid cures I have ever seen. I have frequently found that in cases of kidney stones and gall stones Belladonna in low potencies, 1x, 3x or mother tincture has has not effect but Belladonna 200 causes miraculous and prompt relief. It seems to act by relieving the tension and the inflammation in the duct produced by a stone which has been caught up causing spasms.

HEALTH IN THE SPRING

Nature provides a different kind of milk in the mothers breast from week to week in accordance with the changing requirements of the baby. Similarly, Nature provides in plants, in greenery, all that is needed for the changing requirements of animals and human beings. Instinct bids animals to eat this wonderful greenery.

THE DANGER OF ALUMINIUM

The defenders of aluminium have made experiments on animals with aluminium in order to prove that it is harmless. These experiments are quite useless. Animals react differently to human beings, and therefore all animal experiments are more or less unreliable. Rabbits can eat quantities of belladonna with impunity, which would prove deadly to human beings.

SOME WONDERFUL NEW FOODS

The natural food-stuffs are rich in all the mineral elements. The refining processes of civilization lead to deterioration of the food-stuffs. Bran is exceedingly rich in iron, phosphorus and numerous other mineral substances, and in vitamins, and is the germ of the wheat which is discarded by the millers together with the bran. Hence the civilized suffer from weak teeth, insufficiently protected by a layer of enamel.

HOW HOMOEOPATHY CURES WHEN ORTHODOX MEDICINE HAS FAILED

As the trouble was obviously not local but constitutional these ulcers kept on appearing. His left eye was bandaged because there was a big ulcer on the eyeball, and the white of the eye was swollen and inflamed. I did not even ask him to take off the bandage but merely interrogated him in the usual way.

THE DANGER OF ANTI-TOXIN TREATMENT FOR DIPHTHERIA

They had an outbreak of chickenpox after three weeks and she took it and they sent her home from the Hospital in a private car, with a temperature of 101, full of chickenpox and swollen glands. They did not have her back again but the specialists report was that the falls were due to hysteria and could be avoided.

WHO CAN HELP ME?

The lady has considerably improved during the month, in the course of which she received the medicines mentioned and the treatment of Miss Scarlett, but I do not feel satisfied that everything has been done that can possibly be done. Therefore I appeal to the numerous readers of this magazine for their advice and assistance, which will be received with the utmost gratitude.

MIRACLES OF HEALING AND HOW THEY ARE DONE

“Rheumatism is confessedly a very difficult disease to cure by the Old School treatment. Seldom is a case of the inflammatory form completely cured by them. The great majority of their cases run from the acute into the chronic form, and last for life. However, I went on experimenting and at last discover that my trouble was due to overnutrition.

DEAFNESS AND ITS CURE

The orthodox specialist looks upon disorders of hearing from the purely mechanical point of view. He examines the ear and the adjoining parts of the body with the wonderful instruments which science has developed. I came to the conclusion that her deafness was principally of a catarrhal nature.

PYROGEN A GREAT REMEDY

The homoeopathic surgeon will administer before an operation a few doses of Pyrogen in a high potency, which means in an infinitely small quantity, and he will feel confident that, either no septic developments will follow, or that septic developments will be exceedingly mild, and a few further doses of Pyrogen or of any other indicated remedy, may complete the good work done by the septicity medicine.

HOW TO TREAT SKIN DISEASE

It frequently happens that as soon as an eruption has been driven in the patient begins to complain about serious disorders elsewhere. A driven-in skin disease frequently produces extremely serious consequences in the organs of digestion, in the lungs, the heart and elsewhere.

ABORTION

The abortionists, professional and lay, are not only guilty of race murder but they are also guilty of the destruction of the national health. Ever-increasing numbers of women go to the professional abortionist, and they are persuaded to undergo treatment which they are told is “not risky”.

THE DISASTROUS DEEDS OF CHEMISTRY

The chemist is largely responsible for the criminal adulteration of our bread. It is no longer the staff of life but a source of disease. Our foods are no longer foods. Not satisfied with faking the foods of man, chemists have begun to take, and thereby deteriorate, the food of animals and the food of plants.

ENLARGED PROSTATES

There must be a reason for the enormous increase of cases of enlarged prostate, quite apart from the fact that enlarged prostate is a disease of advancing years. People live nowadays to a greater age than they did twenty, thirty or forty years ago. I am under the impression that the enlarged prostate is a disease of civilization.

A DOCTORS COMPLAINT

Among these are many of the most prominent members of the royal families of England and other countries, and among the great men of the past who were treated homeopathically were statesmen such as Disraeli, Bright, Bismarck. There are scores of homeopathic hospitals throughout the world.

A MEDICAL MONOPOLY

Some decades ago vaccination was made compulsory and those who refused to vaccinata their children or to be vaccinated themselves, were fined, put in prison and treated as criminals. The mischief done by compulsory vaccination cried to heaven. The medical profession claims to have the monopoly of the knowledge of the art of healing.

MISTAKES IN HOMOEOPATHIC PRESCRIBING

Even the best and the most careful homeopathic prescribers make avoidable mistakes in treatment, and every conscientious homeopath should occasionally review not only his success but also, and particularly, his failures. One must always carefully consider the common-sense aspects, studying the case of every patient like a detective.

DIETETIC MIRACLES

The result is, of course, disastrous. Mr. Cook, whose happy, smiling countenance is in front of you, is a great bee keeper. He will bear me out that the quality of the honey depends on the flowers visited by his bees. Wholesome food produces delicious honey.

A CURE OF DISSEMINATED SCLEROSIS

The woman was poor and ignorant, and sent me her photo. From the fact that she was particularly troubled at night, I concluded that the degeneration of the spinal cord might be due to syphilis, for syphilis produces terrible sufferings due to the ravages of the spinal cord, with pronounced aggravation at night.

ABSCESSES AND CARBUNCLES

The antiseptics which you have been using have prevented healing and have brought about this terrible condition. Your finger will be all right in a week or a fortnight.” I have seen many similar misadventures happening to doctors who treated themselves.

THE ADVANTAGES OF HOMOEOPATHY

Homeopathic doctors on the other hand have experimented to find out the smallest dose that will cure the patient. The results have been surprising. Infinitely small doses of a remedy often work miracles, when a large dose of the same remedy would be useless or even dangerous.
