The principal experiment that I shall attempt will consist in taking from my kennels twenty dogs insusceptible to the disease, and placing the same in comparison with twenty ordinary dogs. I shall then have all these forty dogs bitten by a number of dogs in rabid state. If the facts that I have enunciated are exact, the twenty dogs that I believe to be proof against the disease will remain healthy, while the other twenty will become affected.
Having related enough cases of medicinal cures of mammary tumours to show that these tumours can be really got rid of with internal treatment, even when of a recurrent and cancerous nature, and having, moreover, made a few cursory remarks on their etiology, it only remains for me to tell any young or less experienced brother practitioners how to set about curing tumours with medicines.
Calcarea phos. The indications are similar to those under the carbonate. Perhaps there is a greater tendency to deficient ossification in the case of this remedy. I have thought that the Carbonica is of special value in cases of pedunculated fibroids; the Phosphate when sessile.
The growth in the foot was excised, and the patient recovered. The patient was now under the care of Professor Chiene; the microscopical examination was inconclusive. He also showed drawings of the hands of an American physician who had taken Arsenic for long periods in considerable doses.
The great art in curing tumours by medicines may be thus summarized–keep on pegging away! Only, of course, we must peg away with the right remedies. Any medical person who reads this book attentively will have a good idea of how to set to work. In the earlier stages operation is damnable and dangerous.
In this case the medicine was evidently quite homeopathic to the condition of the patient, and it is manifest that the Nat. mur. 6 profoundly affected his organism, as the chilliness of more than two years duration quite disappeared, as also the after-dinner drowsiness.
In this case the amelioration commenced immediately after the powders were taken, and as far as I can see the cure can be attributed to them only. This, critical reader, is the way I have wandered in my search after truth as it is in nature; from it I am forced against my will to admit the existence of a something in drugs that becomes operative by trituration.
You do not expect to play chess without learning the game but do expect to able to treat homeopathically without even knowing the homeopathic pawn! Hence my writing you all these reasons for my being a homeopath is a futile farce.
Nearly all these symptoms are in the pathogenesis of Natrum muriaticum. Hence Nat. mur. 6, twenty four six grain powders taken in a fortnight resulted in the permanent disappearance of all the symptoms excepting the emaciation and the chlorotic condition, for which she was put on Phosphorus.
According to Hahnemann then, the strength (size) of the dose is very important, and the more homoeopathic our remedy in a given case the greater the danger of doing harm. Yet we cannot accept any mans dictum, and faith can have no place in science.
The hiccough case directly on his one, as we have evidently to do with an ague suppressed with Cinchona. Therefore ordered Nat. mur., 6 trit., six grains in water every four hours. Not even the juice of one grape would pass, and some operative interference seemed absolutely imperative.
This lady has also become a homeopath, and now employs for her family the homeopathic practitioner living near her house, and her cure must stand as my forty-second reason for being a homeopath. Thus will be laid the foundation for a new and lasting monument to homeopathy.

After many doubts and fears very much as if I were contemplating a crime I procured Hughes Pharmaco-dynamics and Therapeutics, which my friend said were a good introduction to homeopathy.
On my enquiry when he was last vaccinated, he seemed completely frightened, and stammered out rapidly, “I should not like to be vaccinated again”. In fine, I agreed, at patients special request, to try to cure her cataract with medicines given on homeopathic lines !
