Natrum phos [Nat-p]

GLANDULAR AFFECTION CASES [Glandular Affection c
NATRUM MURIATICUM DURING EXOPHTHALMIC GOITRE- Female, aged about 37. The case presented the usual eye, heart and thyroid conditions, but the most persistent and annoying symptoms were dryness of mucous membranes with thirst; lack of control of urine and absolute loss of sexual feeling. Natrum mur. 6x was prescribed almost continuously for a year with the result that the eyes went back to normal, the heart beat slowed down, the thyroid enlargement and nervousness became lessened, urinary control was re-established, and the sexual feeling returned, while the patient gained in weight from 134 to 167 pounds. (George S. Ogden, M.D).
CASE 2- A Colonial merchant who came to England in despair, none of his friends at the Cape ever expected to see him again. After being under various eminent (allopathic) specialists he was advised to come to me, and in six months’ time I sent him back cured by means of Natr. mur. 200 and nothing else, but a little Kali phos. 6x latterly in alternation. He is still a living wonder to his friends at home and in the Colony, as he not only had the excessively protruding eyeballs, but also terrific palpitation of the heart and nervous exhaustion. (Dr. C. S. Saunders).
Natrum phos. 3x relieved pressure in thirteen cases of goitre by taking a dose three times a day; pressure was relieved in from three to five days. In some instances a cure was effected. It is well to continue the medicine from four to six weeks. (J. S. Skeels, M.D., Hahnemannian Monthly, 1880).
A swelling under the chin the size of a pigeon’s egg was considerably reduced by Kali mur., but still there was induration (hardness) with an uneven surface. Calcarea fluor., taken for a few days, caused it to disappear altogether. Shortly after its disappearance the patient had slight conjunctivitis with swelling, which Kali mur. soon cured. (Dr. K. From Schussler).
Grauvogl, in his Text-book, gives a remarkable result from six weeks’ use of Natrum sulph. in a case of chronic swelling of the cervical glands, so extensive as to practically obliterate the neck. All known treatment at the universities failed; but Natrum sulph. 3x, every two hours, produced rapid improvement in the swelling and general health of the patient.
CALCAREA PHOSPHORICA IN ADENOID GROWTHS- Dr. G. H. Martin related at the meeting of the California State Hom. Medical Society a case of a boy, 12 years of age, who had an adenoid growth which caused nasal catarrh and deafness of one ear to such a degree that he could not hear the watch when pressed close to the ear. “By the administration of Calcarea phosphorica,” he said, “for four months the patient can now hear the watch at six feet, and the catarrh has almost entirely disappeared.”- Pacific Coast Journ. of Hom.
CALCAREA FLUORICA IN LONG-LASTING AND INDOLENT GLANDULAR ENLARGEMENTS OF THE CERVICAL LYMPHATICS- Dr. Sybel speaks very highly of the fluoride of lime in the treatment of indolent and long-lasting glandular enlargements of the cervical lymphatics, and especially where the hardness of the gland is pronounced. He thinks that similar results might be obtained in enlarged bronchial and mesenteric glands.
