PHOSPHOROUS

CORYZA.

Smell very acute; imagines foul smells; faints at strong odors of flowers, with headache.

Frequent sneezing, with stoppage of nose; better in open air; head feels dull; one nostril stopped, the other, free.

ALTERNATING CORYZA –

Alternate fluent and stopped coryza; smell and taste lost; head dull; throat sore.

Frequent alternations of fluent and stopped coryza.

Profuse discharge flowing down throat, with sleepiness during the day and after meals.

CHRONIC CORYZA –

Chronic coryza, greenish-yellow, blood-streaked, profuse discharge; worse in morning.

Dry crusts in nose; hoarseness and bronchial catarrh.

Sensation of dryness in nose; painful, or as if it would stick together.

DISCHARGES –

None, nose dry; or, dried crusts; or, Profuse discharge running down throat.

Profuse, acute.

Profuse, chronic, greenish-yellow; blood-streaked; worse mornings.

WORSE –

Strong odors of flowers; fainting and headache.

During the day and after meals, sleepiness.

In morning, coryza worse.

BETTER –

In open air.

SPECIAL –

All the senses too acute.

Eyes, ears, nose, touch, taste, perverted.

Tall, slender, pale, nervous, sensitive persons.

Tall slim girls, at puberty.

COUGH –

DRY COUGH.

Hoarse catarrhal cough.

From continual tickling in larynx and chest.

Dry, spasmodic, tickling cough.

Harsh, hacking, dry cough.

Hollow, shrill, spasmodic, dry cough.

Hollow cough, with expectoration of mucus.

CHRONIC COUGH –

Chronic cough, with aphonia.

Accompanied with shortness of breath; worse during inspiration.

Violent, debilitating cough, with night sweats (chronic).

Incessant cough, from weight and strangulation in larynx.

SPUTA –

Difficult sputa.

None, evening and night.

Of mucus, morning and by day. Fine, white, tasteless froth, dry cough; or frequent, every half minute.

Tough, reddish-brown mucus; chronic.

Viscid, bloody mucus, from dry cough.

Thick, yellow, tasteless, chronic cough, in morning.

White, tenacious, sweetish, very difficult sputa.

Tough, cold mucus, tasting salty, sour, or sweetish.

Frothy, bloody, rust-colored.

Yellow, bloody, purulent.

Purulent like very thin batter, spattering on a hard surface.

Vicarious blood.

WORSE –

Lying on back provokes cough. (Croup.)

At night; cough dry, evening and night; mucous sputa morning and by day; from tickling in chest.

In morning, loose cough worse.

Talking, laughing, or crying provokes cough.

Evening till midnight.

During inspiration; from motion; eating; drinking; cold, or hot drinks.

Going into cold air. When others come into room.

Exercise.

SENSATIONS –

Larynx – Feels sensitive and dry; as if lined with fur.

Feels painful, cannot utter a word.

Sensitive to touch.

Tickles violently while speaking.

Feels constricted; dry, spasmodic cough.

Painful and irritated.

As if a piece of flesh or skin hung loose, provoking cough.

Dry, and burning, with rawness in larynx and bronchi.

Sore cough. Much fever and thirst.

Lassitude and prostration out of all proportion to disease; much heat and pain in larynx and chest.

Of heat, dryness, and rawness.

Tickling, as from a feather, provoking spasmodic, shrill, violent, dry cough.

Weight, and strangulation in larynx.

As if a piece of flesh or skin hung loose in larynx Tickling, itching spot on one side of pharynx (M. W. V.) provokes violent dry cough.

Extreme dryness of back part of mouth and of throat; must moisten it often.

Tension of skin of face and forehead, as if too tight; frequently of only one side.

Trembling of whole body while coughing; sacrum feels as if broken.

Tingling, soreness and rawness of air passages.

Oppression of chest, with anxiety; worse after least food; or from exercise.

Smarting and pain about root of tongue in front of throat.

As if something were torn loose under sternum, difficult, tough, white sputum.

SPECIAL –

Looks, weak, pale, and sick.

Puffy lips and lids, or puffy under eyes; blue rings; hollow- eyed.

Color changeable; flushed from least emotion.

Slender, slim, fair, very sensitive, but colorless and lack adaisical.
