Want Of Cleanliness, Taste and Judgment
1. M.M. 30 years has always been very unclean, did not even wash his face and hands..wearing hat and dresses very unclean. Had not taste..had not sense of judgment..excessively idle- naturally indolent-antipathy against his sisters.
1883, 6th January: I gave him Ammonium carbonica 200, which he took on the 11th January.
The 22nd January: He began to become more and more clean to such a point that he scolded others for their uncleanliness and watched over it.
The 28th January: Almost for the first time washed his face and combed his hairs, dressed with a good taste, mixed face and combed his hairs, dressed with a good taste, whom he always in bad company and did not meet his father whom he always avoided. His judgment is developed and he is more sensible,
The 11th February: As a consequence of a cold for which he was obliged to be in bed since three days and of which he was cured more rapidly than the preceding attacks, he has become less lazy, gets up in the morning at 8 instead of 10.30 to 11 A.M. He is watchful and obliging, formerly he was a quibbler and always made some oppositions. He becomes more and more clean. Formerly he never brushed his dresses, now he does it frequently. Formerly he avoided his family and frequented bad companies, to-day he does quite the contrary. His skin is more coloured. His calves have become more plump than before. The somatic amelioration has followed psychic amelioration in this case. Formerly he was so much so afraid so afraid at night that he used to keep handy a stick or a big knife. Now he has them no more.
II. Ch. B..16 years, proud, insubordinated, impertinent, insulting father and the mother, sulky, has always a mind to opposed and said, “I will not do it” however he did it. Unclean and not elegant in his bearing.
1882, 6th March: Platina 200. He takes the remedy on the 7th March in a cup of chocolate in the morning and from the 20th day, his defects began to ameliorate gradually. He is no more proud, neither personal, nor extravagant; but obliging, docile and caressing; he lovingly makes jokes. This movement of more expansion has favoured his intellectual and physical development. He is no more routineer; he become more intelligent. His body has developed rapidly and his muscles are strong.
He has become clean personally and clean and elegant in his bearing without coquettishness.
III has M.B. 47, haemorrhoidal. Fits of hysteria since 2 years following the death of a friend and an injustice done to him.
Fits manifested by: 1. Choking sensation in the throat and a constriction in the epigastric region which suffocated him. 2. General chill, then 3. Conclusive movements of the four limbs. 4. Finally general prostration.
Dyspepsia, flatulence, troubled sleep, sadness and constriction in the hypochondria, sullen, easily angered up to striking his son, very little broad minded and so little affectionate that he never thanked for services given to him.
Himself and two of his brother and sisters out of eight children could never digest eggs, even mixed with other foods and cakes etc. White of eggs mixed with sorell made them ill.
Hard worker, rising at 4 in the morning.
1882, 8th Feb: Nux vomica 30 10/5. Amelioration.
1882, 22nd Feb. : Nux vomica 30, 6//6. Slight aggravation.
1882, 23rd March.: Nux vomica, 10,000. Progressive amelioration as regards dyspepsia, flatulence and sleep.
Hysteric fits have not reappeared since the beginning of the treatment. The earthy brown colour of the skin has become rosy. Digests food with eggs.
IV. An old grumbler etc. Mme R, 80 years: exacting throughout her life, authoritative, have a grumbling character, scolding everybody who is not of her opinion, though herself to be infallible and always right; defects increasing with the increase of age from the age of 32 (1849).
1882, 26th June: Hydrastis 200, taken on the 27th June. At the end of of July only the character ameliorated almost suddenly, three-fourths of her defects disappeared; she is more well wishing and more obliging today (16the Aug.).
V.F. 45 years, married, never affectionate, not obliging to his wife, jealous since the 3rd March, drunk from time to time, becomes angry and breaks everything.
Miser, liar, hoaxer, hypocrite, artful with his wife and gay with others.
1883, 16th Jan: Nux vomica 10,000 made him more calm for only 8 days, afterwards more wicked and disposed to run out of his house; jealousy less since 28th January.
31st January: Lachesis taken 5th February.
Gallavardin set up a homeopathic Dispensary for the cure of alcoholics, often working in conjunction with priests, and he wrote several books on this subject.
Jean Pierre Gallavardin wrote Psychism and Homeopathy, The Homoeopathic Treatment of Alcoholism, How to Cure Alcoholism the Non-toxic Homoeopathic Way, Repertory of Psychic Medicines with Materia Medica, Plastic Medicine, and articles for The British Journal of Homeopathy, On Phosphoric Paralysis, and he collated the statistics on pneumonia and other cases for the United States Journal of Homeopathy, and he contributed widely to homeopathic publications.
