Mouth Teeth.

Looseness of an upper back tooth, followed by ulcerative pain the whole day. Feeling of tightness in the hollow lower wisdom tooth of the left side, perceptible during sleep (6th day). Grumbling in a diseased upper back tooth, as if air streamed in and out of it. Boring toothache with pressure in the head, and at one time heat, at another coldness; towards noon, better in the evening. Drawing and sticking toothache, now in the right side, now in the left, in the upper back teeth, in the open air as in the house. Stitches in a hollow tooth when touched, wherewith the gum is inflamed, swollen, red and painful, and bleeds easily (after 20 days). Tearing toothache with tearing in the head from morning till noon. Violent tearing in a left upper tooth. Shooting tearing in the upper incisors, in the open air, in the evening and next morning (after 39th day). Ulcerative pain in the upper especially the back teeth (after 8 days). Throbbing toothache wakes him at 3 in the morning and at midnight from sleep aggravated by cold, unchanged by warmth. Throbbing toothache in the left upper row, in the evening while walking in the open air (17th day). Jerking pain in the teeth (8th day). Jerking toothache in the left upper row like an ulceration. Jerking toothache in a left upper back tooth. Frequent jerking in the upper back teeth. The toothache is aggravated on drawing in the air and extends into the incisors. Gums. Swelling of the gum externally of the right upper teeth with great painfulness. The gum on the inside of the right upper teeth seems swollen, with violent throbbing in it. A scorbutic condition.

TONGUE.

Tongue coated white (1st and 7th day). Tongue coated white as far as the tip (7th day). Tongue coated very white (13th day). Tongue covered with a white mucus coat (after 5 grains). Tongue red, but quite clean (after 4 hours). Small burning pimples on the tip of the tongue, aggravated in the evening (after 14 days). A burning blister on the tip of the tongue (after 18 days). Dryness of the tongue and mouth, in the morning (6th day). The tongue burns at the tip and anterior surface as if sore (cut), in the evening (15th and 16th days). Violent sticking followed by burning in the right half of the tongue. General mouth. Coated mouth in the morning (3rd day). Offensive odor from the mouth which she does not notice herself. Small painful swelling on the right side of the palate. Dryness of the mouth without thirst, disappearing after breakfast (11th day). Sleep interrupted several times by dryness of the mouth, causing thirst (1st night). Dryness of the mouth and tongue and great thirst woke him after midnight (3rd night). Nauseous taste, persistent even after drinking water and cocoa (13th day). Taste disgusting (soon). Sweetish nauseous taste (soon). Sour taste in throat in morning after rising. Disagreeable sourish taste (14th day). Acid taste soon (after 7 grains). Disagreeable, acid taste, after breakfast (2nd day). Loss of speech.

Throat

Hawking of mucus in the afternoon, with expectoration of a piece having a form and consistence of liver, of a sweetish taste. Pain in the throat (4th day). Burning in the throat for three days relieved for only a short time by cold drinks. Frightful burning in the throat, stomach and intestines. Pressive pain in the throat like commencing inflammation, lasting 24 hours (after 9 hours). Cutting pain in the throat, as if in the larynx, with impeded swallowing (after 8 days). Sticking pain in the throat, in the morning on rising also externally on pressing on the larynx and on eating. Sticking pain in the throat, aggravated by swallowing. Sticking in the middle of the throat and fauces when swallowing. Sticking pain in the left side of the throat when swallowing and speaking, relieved by taking food (16th and 17th days). Sore throat day and night, with inflammation of the arch of the palate and uvula for 4 days (after 10 days). Sore throat at night very violent as if the throat would grow together and as if she could not get air through it. Sore pain in the throat (3rd day). Rawness in the throat immediately. Rawness in the throat, with hoarseness and burning in the pharynx like heart-burn. Rawness and scraping in the throat; she was frequently obliged to hawk, which caused pain in the chest; in the evening and morning (after 8 days). Rawness in the choanae, as if coryza would occur (1st day). After the most violent paroxysms of cough there was frequently experienced scraping in the throat, as from acidity of the stomach (from which I had never before suffered). Tickling in the throat; he was obliged to hawk, but raised nothing. Uvula and Tonsils. Uvula and tonsils red, with painful swallowing of saliva, aversion to smoking, and general prostration towards evening (2nd day). Oesophagus Glutinous sensation in the oesophagus, as though the mucous membrane were covered with a thick glutinous jelly (5th day). Soreness of the oesophagus so great, that for five days she was unable to swallow irritating food or drink. She swallowed very easily whenever she ate.

Stomach Appetite.

Good appetite in spite of all troubles and pains (after 30 days). Incessant desire to eat and drink. Ravenous hunger returned between 10 and 11 a. m. and alternated with some cutting pain in the region of the umbilicus (after 9 grs). Ravenous hunger, without real desire for food, together with increased thirst (after 2 hours). Violently ravenous hunger, in the forenoon (after 7grs). A kind of ravenous hunger without real appetite, towards evening (5th day). A kind of sensation of hunger, no real appetite, followed by real aversion to food the whole morning (over 3 hours), with white coated tongue so that my coffee was not taken, contrary to habit; at 10 a. m. with real appetite, bread and butter was so much relished that without intending it I ate a piece more than usual, after which I felt very well (10th day). Diminished appetite; (after 7 to 8 grs). Loss of appetite and much thirst (5th day). (Loss of appetite with increased hunger) (2nd day). Appetite bad (7th day). No appetite (1st day). No appetite in the evening though I had eaten nothing, yet the supper tasted very good, of which I ate largely (10th day). No appetite, though she eats from habit without difficulty. Appetite completely suppressed. Thirst’. Thirst in the afternoon with burning in the throat, disappearing after drinking water (20th day). Thirst during the menstruation (19th day). Thirst without remarkable appetite. Increased thirst (after 11 and 13 grs). Much thirst (1st day) (3rd day). Much thirst but no appetite for breakfast (7th day). Great thirst (2nd and 3rd days). Great thirst, constantly. Violent thirst. Drank a good deal of water. Loss of thirst with good appetite almost every day. Eructations. Eructations the whole day (7th day). Eructations and nausea. Eructation and a feeling of warmth in the stomach (immediately), (1st day). Repeated eructations (after a quarter of an hour);recurring (after 2 or 3 hours); repeated (after every dose ). Frequent eructations and nausea (soon). Violent eructations (immediately). Eructations of air (1st and 2nd days). Hiccough. Hiccough in the morning fasting (14th day). Heartburn. Heartburn. Nausea and Vomiting. Nausea in the morning in bed (7th day). Nausea woke her from sleep at night and only disappeared after much gulping up of mucus. Nausea and shivering for some time after dose (3rd day). Feeling of nausea in the stomach, with burning and pressure (2nd day). Nausea and inclination to vomit, lasting 5 hours ( one hour after 9 grs. ). Nausea and painful vomiting. Nausea, frightful retching, vomiting and purging. Qualmish nausea in the stomach and painful movings about in the abdomen, followed by diarrhoea. Qualmish nausea in the stomach (soon). Qualmish nausea with pressure in the stomach and aversion to food, at 5 a. m. in bed. Qualmish nausea in the afternoon, followed by eructations from the stomach, retching and then uprising of bitter water which afford relief, repeated after half an hour in the evening (after 50 days). Qualmish nausea in the stomach with uprising of water. Qualmish nausea and retching. Qualmish nausea, trembling of the whole body, headache pressive and as if beaten, retching in the throat, burning in the eyes, weakness as if sleepy. Qualmishness in the stomach, with accumulation of water in the mouth (during menstruation). Qualmishness and accumulation of water in the mouth, soon after supper, relieved by eating again (6th day). Qualmishness and nausea in the pit of the stomach in the evening (7th day). Qualmishness in the stomach with nausea and a feeling of heaviness, in the evening after soup (6th day). Painful retching about the umbilicus, with nausea, while walking after dinner. Vomiting; (a few minutes after second dose); (after a quarter of an hour). (Vomiting towards evening, after taking a glass of beer), (5th day). Vomited immediately, constantly, so that she was unable to take the least thing (2nd day). Vomited freely (after 10 minutes). Violent vomiting. Violent vomiting, but no purging, as far as could be ascertained. Violent, painful vomiting with diarrhoea. Vomiting of blood. Frequent vomiting of bloody mucous fluid (after 4 hours). Vomiting, at first of mucus and water afterwards of bloody mucus. The ejecta from the stomach were mixed with much dark blood. Vomiting, first of contents of stomach and then of blood; a good deal of fluid and clotted blood of purplish color was ejected; continued vomiting for 4 hours, during which she must have drunk and vomited above 2 gallons; for 6 hours afterwards she took nothing; but then again became sick, and vomited repeatedly for three hours; ejecting grumous blood, both fluid and clotted. Stomach. Inflammation of the stomach. Distension of the epigastric region, tasteless eructations, and once accumulation of water in the mouth like water brash, with no appetite, thirst, and white coated tongue (2nd day). Faint like weakness about the pit of the stomach. An irritable condition of the stomach and intestines and of the urinary organs continued for a long time after the attack. Heaviness and fulness in the region of the stomach (2nd day). Disagreeable feeling in the stomach as if something were turning about in it; in morning after rising. Feeling of coldness in the stomach. Feeling of coldness and pain in the stomach, followed by sharp, sticking pains, not only in the stomach but through the whole body, which became so violent that for 15 minutes he could not take deep breath without the most acute pain on every inspiration. (* After taking an ounce in eight doses, one every hour and a half. Hughes. *) Icy coldness in the stomach, with pain when touched; disappearing after lying down in the evening; with qualmish nausea and uprising of water; also afterwards in the 20th morning after milk-broth, though without qualmishness. Pain in the stomach. (* Falconer (No. 18) is “pain in the stomach extending to the bowels.” – Hughes. Pain in left portion of epigastric region, only when walking. Pain in stomach as if disorder though without efforts to vomit (after 50 days). Painful sensation in the pit of the stomach and epigastric region on taking a deep breath and on blowing nose. Violent pains in the epigastric region immediately. Violent pain in stomach and whole body immediately. Cardialgia, Slight sense of heat in the epigastrium. Sense of burning heat and severe pain at pit of stomach (After a quarter of an hour). Burning in the stomach followed by pressure in the epigastric region, immediately after a new dose (seventh day). Frightful burning in the stomach, Severe burning pain in her stomach, immediately (second dose), Extreme burning pain in epigastrium, much increased on pressure (after four hours). Long lasting pain and soreness of the stomach, attended with much flatulence and flux of saliva in the mouth. (* Revised by Hughes. *) Pressive burning pain in the epigastric region, Which gradually increased and at last became a dull boring pain (immediately). after half an hour a cutting pain along the tract of the intestines, so that it seemed as though he could follow the action of the drug in the bowels; at the same time, profuse emission of flatus and desire for stool, with heartburn and some heat over the whole body after an hour, a normal stool, Feeling as of fire in the stomach, Burning fire in the stomach, Feeling of fullness in the stomach. A fullness with loss of appetite disappeared only towards 5 p. m. after a thin, scanty stool, after which I had great appetite (tenth day). Great fullness after dinner, followed after three hours by pain in the stomach, as though something heavy were lying in it, lasting till evening (sixth day). Tightness of the pit of the stomach as from painful contraction, while walking and standing in the morning. Inclined to cramp in stomach. Griping in the stomach, soon after a dose (third day). Twinging in the stomach, with nausea and accumulation of the water in the mouth for several minutes, soon after supper (fifth day). Momentary twinging in the stomach, while drinking cocoa (tenth day),. Pressure in the stomach, (first day),. Pressure and burning in stomach increased with thin stools (second day). Pressure in the epigastric region (first day). Feelings of pressure in the pit of the stomach (seventh day). Pressure in the stomach relieved by eructations, in the morning (fifth day) Pressure in the pit of the stomach for two hours, in the afternoon (eighteenth day), – Pressure and gnawing in the pit of the stomach, which is also painful to external pressure (twenty second day), – Pressure in the pit of the stomach from without inward as from the knob, also with sensitiveness to external pressure, immediately after dinner (twentieth day). Pressure in the stomach and chest, so united that it was difficult to distinguish which was really the suffering part (fourth day). pressive pain in the posterior and upper portion of the epigastric region, near to and behind the cartilages of the ribs, which extends almost to the tip of the stomach only when waking this pain returned next day in the upper portion of the left half of the epigastric region while walking towards noon, not felt in the afternoon and evening even while walking rapidly. Pressive pain in pit of stomach. Cutting stitches in pit of stomach, and upper abdomen after breakfast,. – Sensitiveness of the stomach, with accumulation of water in the mouth, during menstruation. Epigastric region very painful and sensitive to the slightest touch (second day). Became almost faint from the gnawing and burning pains at the scrobiculus cordis not continual but violently spasmodic. A sensation of the distant beating of the pulse in the epigastric region, towards the cardiac extremity (after eight minutes).
