Homoeopathic Antidotes of Food Poisoning and homeopathy remedies for treatment of food allergies like wheat allergy, milk allergy, egg allergy, peanut allergy etc….


Study of today has built a bridge between dietetic and Hahnemannian therapeutics. It has also considerable relation with non-sector naturism.

There exists not only some food intoxications in general but some intolerances due to some individual factors. In the two cases it is good to apply the Law of Similars giving to the patients the remedies indicated in the table below:

Milk In babies: Aethusa (milk vomited in big clots), Antimonium-crudum. In case of sour vomiting and sour smelling diarrhoea: China Calcarea-carb. Magnesia-carbonica. With periodical liver troubles; Magnesia muriatica. Aversion to milk which is badly digested: Carbo-vegetabilis (flatulence) or China (flatulence which does not ameliorate), Sepia (Gastric goneness which is not ameliorated by eating) Sulphur (gastric goneness better by eating). Diarrhoea during dentition Podophyllum. Diarrhoea by milk : Natrum-carbonicum, Niccolum. Other remedies of troubles caused by milk: Arsenicum-album, Ferrum- metallicum, Kali- iodatum, Kreosotum, Lycopodium. Mercurius- dulcis, Oleum, Jequiris aselli.

Soups

Not tolerated by Kali-carbonicum.

Beer

Kali-bichromicum (Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea), Aloe,(hemorrhoids, diarrhoea). Sometimes China (painless diarrhoea). Cuprum-metallicum, Ferrum metallicum, Sulphur.

Cidre

Aloe, China, Colocynthis, Veratrum album for diarrhoea and colic.

Wine

Abuse of wine, alcoholism Lachesis, Nux-vomica, Sulphur (Ground remedies) Ranunculus bulbosus (Neuralgia) Spiritus quercus glandium (drainage).Nervous troubles: Zincum-metallicum, Cimicifuga. Delirium tremens: Stramonium absinthum Cimicifuga, Belladonna, Hyoscyamus

Acid drinks, vinegar

Arsenicum-album and Carbo-vegetabilis burning in the stomach; Antimonium crudum (diarrhoea). Desire for acids and pickles Sepia. Desire for acidulated drinks: Antimonium crudum (acute cases). Abuse of acid drinks: aloe, Phosphoric acid, Sulphur.

Gaseous drinks

Acute cases: Digitoxinum (solution of Digitalis in chloroforme). Flatulences: Carbo-vegetabilis, China, Kali carbonicum (abuse of Vichy water), Ignatia, Lycopodium, Nux-vomica, Sepia Thuja (atony, dilatation).

Iced drinks, Ice

Arsenicum-album, Pulsatilla.

Sweet drinks

Argentum nitricum.

Coffee

Abuse: Ignatia (Feminine, or feminised temperament), Nux-vomica (Masculine temperament, or masculinised temperament). Sometimes Chamomilla (insomnia) Palpitations, tachycardia: Aconite, Spigelia (Cafeine may also be tried in very high dilutions). Diarrhoea by coffee: Cyclamen, Cistus canadensis, Oxalic acid.

Chamomilla

Abuse: Ignatia (Irritable, capricious character. Neuralgia: Coffea. Drainage: Pulsatilla.

Tea

Thuja, Ignatia, Dioscorea, Ferrum-metallicum. Persons who drink beer prefer tea, and persons addicted to wine prefer coffee by instinctive antidotism (Hering).

Impossible to tolerate any food It is the indication of a nature cure which must be well conducted (Very fractional foods). Carbo-vegetabilis, Aletris-farinosa, Lachesis, Moschus.

Repulsion to the smell of to the sight of foods even if they do not intoxicate)

Arsenicum-album, Veratrum-album. For preventing intoxication take Lycopodium 5 granules and 5 in the morning 4 hours before taking shells; then 5 granules during meal, then 5 granules 4 hours afterwards.

Do not forget Ricinus in cholecystitis (very important for stopping nausea and vomiting). Prescribe Ricinus 6 every at 4 p.m., very often with China 30 while going to bed, Bryonia while waking up. Drainage by Berberis 6. Ground remedy Phosphorus.

In summary, one must remember Arsenicum-album the marvellous remedy for food intoxication, specially poisoning by degenerated foods or infected foods, either liquid or solid.

But one should also know the exact use of other remedies indicated by alimentary poisoning. This should never be forgotten.

Mauritius Fortier-Bernoville
Mauritius (Maurice) Fortier Bernoville 1896 – 1939 MD was a French orthodox physician who converted to homeopathy to become the Chief editor of L’Homeopathie Moderne (founded in 1932; ceased publication in 1940), one of the founders of the Laboratoire Homeopathiques Modernes, and the founder of the Institut National Homeopathique Francais.

Bernoville was a major lecturer in homeopathy, and he was active in Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis, and a founder of the le Syndicat national des médecins homœopathes français in 1932, and a member of the French Society of Homeopathy, and the Society of Homeopathy in the Rhone.

Fortier-Bernoville wrote several books, including Une etude sur Phosphorus (1930), L'Homoeopathie en Medecine Infantile (1931), his best known Comment guerir par l'Homoeopathie (1929, 1937), and an interesting work on iridology, Introduction a l'etude de l'Iridologie (1932).

With Louis-Alcime Rousseau, he wrote several booklets, including Diseases of Respiratory and Digestive Systems of Children, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Rheumatism, treatment of hay fever (1929), The importance of chemistry and toxicology in the indications of Phosphorus (1931), and Homeopathic Medicine for Children (1931). He also wrote several short pamphlets, including What We Must Not Do in Homoeopathy, which discusses the logistics of drainage and how to avoid aggravations.

He was an opponent of Kentian homeopathy and a proponent of drainage and artificial phylectenular autotherapy as well.
