THE WONDER DRUGS VS THE HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDY

After about a month of illness it was proposed by a friend that they should try Homoeopathy. Calc. carb. appeared to be indicated on constitutional and other symptoms and was started in the 30th potency twice a day. The child started improving generally but on the third day he started passing mucus in his stools. The temperature now did not go above 99 degree. When the mucus in stools persisted and the progress appeared to come to a stand-still, the case was re-examined and presented Merc. sol. symptoms which was given in the 30th potency twice a day. The mucus gradually disappeared and the range of the temperature came down between 97 degree and 98 degree. The treatment covered about 3 weeks, but the child was improving from day to day, keeping quite cheerful and taking almost normal food.

CASE VII.

Mr. G. S., one midnight, started getting severe pain in his left eye and developed rashes with much burning and pain on the left side of the forehead above the eye-brow. There was much swelling of the left side of the face. The disease was diagnosed as Herpes, and the inevitable Penicillin started, and pushed on for three days. The swelling subsided but the pain and its aggravation at night, particularly midnight, persisted. There was ptosis and the eye did not open. The writer was called in. Ars. alb. 30. was prescribed, three times a day, with marked relief of the pain which showed no recurrence from the 3rd day onwards. For the persistent ptosis of the lid. Causticum had to be resorted to in the 30th and later in the 200th potencies with complete cure. The treatment covered about two weeks.

CASE VIII.

October 6, 1950. The writer was consulted by Mrs. U.A., aged 22 years, wife of a doctor in state service, and the following history was recorded. In December 1948, she gave birth to a dead baby, and after nine days started getting fever. Streptomycin injections were given and the fever was more or less cured. In February 1949, again started getting fever which was controlled by homoeopathic treatment. Was all right for about 3 months. Continued getting attacks of fever off and on. In June 1950 again gave birth to a baby (alive). Penicillin was given. No fever for 9 days. Again started getting fever off and on. Several courses of Penicillin and Streptomycin had been given with temporary relief only.

The fever now (10.6.50) rises daily in the evenings for the last three days. Gets a little shivering about 1 P.M. when the fever begins to rise. Pain in the abdomen and back almost all the time. Feels worse by lying on the left side; feels a sort of drawing sensation in right side, ameliorated by lying on back. When fever rises, feels dryness of mouth and takes small quantities of water at a time. When fever is on, her feet burn and she wants to put them in cool place. Gurgling in abdomen. Bowels move 2 or 3 times a day but there is a feeling of dissatisfaction in spite of that. Formerly used to have burning during urination, but not now. Used to have good appetite but now for sometime it has decreased.

Pyrogen 200., a single dose, was given with marked improvement as regards fever and the other symptoms referred to above. After a week the effect seemed to have finished, when the dose was repeated. But this time it did not take up the case so well and on reconsideration Lycopodium appeared to be indicated. Four doses of Lycopodium 30. were given twice a day on 23rd and 24th Oct. 1950 with marked all round improvement. The temperature did not exceed the normal throughout the day. On 5th Nov. 1950 it was reported that the appetite was very poor and there was a little constipation, nausea, weakness, anaemia, pain in the back and leucorrhoea which influenced decision in favour of Sepia and later Natr. mur. While steadily improving, she had to leave the station. The latest information received on 9th Feb. 1951 shows that she continues well without any relapses of the fever.

Now, dear reader, what is your verdict? Would you cast your vote in favour of the modern “wonder drugs” of the “scientific” school of medicine or in favour of the homoeopathic remedy which gives as WONDERFUL RESULTS today as when Hahnemann first announced the homoeopathic LAW OF CURE to the medical world and sick humanity?.
