ARE SERUMS VACCINES ETC HOMOEOPATHIC?

I want to give you an experience that has occurred in Toledo just lately. The telephone bell rang. A lady said, “My boy is going to have the measles. Will you kindly have Dr. Dayton Pulford come out and and see him?” Dr. Pulford went out. At the end of the week, the young man was over over it and well and in the prime of health. Right across the street from this family they had twins with the measles. Those twins had been immunized against everything known under the sun. thy had scientific treatment, doctors twice a day at here dollars a call, and a nurse at thirty dollars a week. At the end of the week they were so debilitated that one of the children came down with a severe case of pneumonia.

That necessitated the doctor coming three or four times a day, and a specialist at five dollars, and two nurses at thirty dollars a week. At the end of six of seven weeks, he had two sick children. Now, the first case coast three dollars, with a well child. The other case-you can figure up what it coast, and they have got to take the twins now out some place to recuperate. They have all been immunized against all the troubles that anybody could wish for. so there is an example of the conditions as they exist.

Hahnemann, of course, commenced the administration of his medicines in the form then in universal use. The dosology took the limit to be as much as the organism could stand. But it is known that Hahnemann always, even before his enunciation of the new principle, was moderate in his doses and allowed them to act without repeating or interfering by other medicines as long as they acted well. Already a year after the publication of the new principle he declared “simplicity is the supreme law of the physician” and lauded Hippocrates in the words: “Only by this simplicity of his treatment in diseases could he see all that which he saw and at which we are astonished.” We might, therefore, say that this law of simplicity revived from Hippocrates was the precursor of the law of healing which today we celebrate and without which the latter could not have been established.
