The temperature neednt worry you very much; if you have the right remedy, the temperature will come down or the patient will die quickly.
DR. DIXON: I wasnt asking why we use high potencies. I was asking why it takes so long to get away from using Ferrum phos. in the 2x.
My experience is that it works beautifully in the higher potencies and I think the explanation is that we all learned our Ferrum phos. from the Schussler remedies, which were all given in 2, 3, or 6x; or some Silica or Natrum muriaticum. They recommend the 12x and 30x in that and it didnt bother us to get away from using those remedies in higher potencies, but Ferrum phos. has stayed down low, and I resent it.
DR. PORTER: Dr. McLaren said that the person who got the most out of a paper was the person who prepared it. I think that very often we get more out of the discussion than we do out of preparing them.
Dr. Boger raised a good point in talking on Aconite this morning, which I confirmed this week on one of these patients that had had the Ferrum phos. Later she developed some bladder trouble and she was given some Cantharis, and after that cleared up, in a few days her cough developed, and she didnt seem to improve. She was given a few more doses of Ferrum phos. and the next day she came in and said I didnt need to go to see her any more. She was well.
