Chronic ill-health may follow a severe acute or chronic infection, injury, emotional upset or occasionally, after adverse effects of drugs.
Apart from demonstrable pathological sequelae the patients vitality-the general level of health-may be lowered, and it is often possible by constitutional prescribing to raise the patient’s vitality to the extent that functional disorders and diseases with reversible pathological changes may be cured.
It is sometimes also possible to help in this way to some extent even in incurable conditions.
