IDENTIFICATION

      Face dark red, purple, the darker red, the more Baptisia; expression besotted.

ESSENTIAL

      Drowsy, cannot sleep because head and body feel scattered about bed, must toss about to get the pieces together. Confused. All the secretions, excretions and exhalations offensive, cadaverous, penetrating, even the urine and sweat. Tongue yellowish brown in center, edges red and shiny. Can swallow only liquids, least solid causes gagging. Bruised soreness causing restlessness, bed feels too hard, like Arnica Mouth and tongue dry. Prostration out of all proportion to at tack, like Arsenicum

      Restless, constant desire to move from place to place, like Arsenicum Effects of bad news, like Gelsemium

Face

      (L): Expression besotted.

Mouth

      (L): Gums dark red.

Throat

      Tonsils and throat painlessly inflamed. (L): Uvula dark red; spasms of the oesophagus, on swallowing; can swallow only liquids. Silicea, like Baptisia, can swallow only liquids, like milk, but unlike Baptisia, Silicea has aversion to milk.

Genitalia

      Considered by some as a specific in threatened miscarriage from mental depression, shock of bad news, watching, fasting, or low fever.

Sleep

      Dreams of: being chained to bed; swimming in a river.

General

      Low types of disease with tendency to disorganization of blood, restless, and generally with delirium or stupor.
