MORAL SYMPTOMS.

Taciturn.

HEAD.

Heat in the head and some coryza.

DIGESTIVE APPARATUS.

Rheumatic drawing in decayed teeth. Acrid sensation in the pharynx, gradually spearing to the stomach with greater intensity, and finally occasioning vomiting. Metallic bloody taste in the mouth, with frequent spitting. Loathing, nausea, disagreeable burning sensation in the stomach and oesophagus, violent vomiting of a large quantity of watery substances resembling the white of an egg, attended with diarrhoea accompanied by anguish, coldness of the body, viscid sweat, violent cramp-pains in the lower limbs. Violent excessive evacuations, upwards and downwards, attended with complete prostration. Increased evacuations. Violent urging early in the morning, as if a diarrhoeic stool would come on, followed by violent burning at he rectum. Violent burning of the ascarides in rectum, in the evening. Violent itching of the orifice of the anus, at night.

Charles Julius Hempel
Charles Julius Hempel (5 September 1811 Solingen, Prussia - 25 September 1879 Grand Rapids, Michigan) was a German-born translator and homeopathic physician who worked in the United States. While attending medical lectures at the University of New York, where he graduated in 1845, he became associated with several eminent homeopathic practitioners, and soon after his graduation he began to translate some of the more important works relating to homeopathy. He was appointed professor of materia medica and therapeutics in the Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia in 1857.
