From the orthodox point of view, chronic diseases are incurable. Orthodox doctors and specialists scarcely try to cure a chronic case because they consider the task hopeless. It is the glory of Homoeopathy that it successfully tackles chronic disease.

The largest book produced by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann is entitled Chronic Disease, and all those who follow the directions given by the founder of Homoeopathy and his able successors may cure innumerable cases of chronic diseases which orthodox medicine cannot touch. I suppose I need scarcely mention that each case of Disseminated Sclerosis had to be treated individually and that there are no “specifics” for that disease.

James Ellis Barker 1870 – 1948 was a Jewish German lay homeopath, born in Cologne in Germany. He settled in Britain to become the editor of The Homeopathic World in 1931 (which he later renamed as Heal Thyself) for sixteen years, and he wrote a great deal about homeopathy during this time.
