Chest

Cramp rising up in the oesophagus, with intermitting pains extending to the upper portion of the wall of the chest. Pressure moving about in the upper portion of the wall of the chest.

Pressure above the lower portion of the wall of the chest.

Sticking and pressure in the left wall of the thorax. Pressure above the lower portion of the thorax. Pressure in the upper part of the thorax. Stitches in various parts of the thorax. Front.

Violent beating and pressure behind the sternum, while walking.

Dull pressive sensation low down in the sternum, as if in the oesophagus. Pressure in the sternum. Sides. Sticking pain in the upper part of the left wall of the chest, without affecting breathing. Intermitting sticking pains in the upper part of the wall of the left chest, afterwards in the right, without affecting respiration. Pressure in the upper part of the left wall of the chest, disappearing and returning without affecting respiration or motion. Pressure in the left wall of the chest, coming and going several times without being affected by respiration or motion. Stitches in the right, then in the left wall of the chest, not aggravated by inspiration.

Heart and Pulse

Heart. The sensation of violent beating in the heart occurs frequently in the evening on lying down in any position, lasting only a moment. If walking is persevered in the heart makes itself felt by its rapid, tremulous, tumultuous action. Some violent beating of the heart. Violent beating of the heart, at times with a feeling of pressure. At times while walking a peculiar sensation in the heart, like violent beating; this symptom occurred very frequently during the day. Pulse. The pulse during the first quarter of an hour after 25 drops was irregular, the beats generally fuller and harder. The pulse remained unchanged for half an hour, except that it was fuller and slower than usual. Pulse weak and quick; on walking a short distance it becomes very quick. Pulse frequent, for half an hour (after 20 drops). Pulse rather fuller and somewhat slower than usual (half an hour after 10 drops).

Neck and Back

Violent pressure in the nape of the neck and cervical vertebrae.

Stitches here and there in the thorax and back. Sensation as if hot water were creeping through the back from below upward, lasting a quarter of an hour. Pressure and stitches in the region of the spine. Drawing in various parts of the back. Stitches in the final processes of the vertebrae. Numerous violent stitches in the vertebrae. Drawing in various parts of the dorsal muscles.

Stitches in the spinous processes of the middle dorsal vertebrae.

Violent sticking in the spinous processes of the last dorsal and upper lumbar vertebrae. Pressure in the lumbar muscles and hip- joints.

Extremities in General.

Pressive boring in the muscles and joints of the upper and lower extremities and in the head, even while walking. Boring in the fingers, wrists, shoulders, and knees. Sticking in the fingers and toes. My nails were colored blue, and also Mr. G.’s lips were the same. Pressure and boring in the bones of the wrists, tibiae, ankles, head, and face. Tearing in the fingers and toes. Pains in the limbs. Pressure in the muscles of the shoulders, upper arms, and thighs. Pressure on the backs of the feet and in the wrists.

Violent pressure in the muscles of the upper and lower extremities. Violent pressure about and above the ankles, about the leg, and afterwards in the forearms. Very frequent violent pressure in the malleoli, in the tarsal and metatarsal joints, wrists, shoulders, and muscles of the arms, with bruised pain.

Pressure on the backs of the feet and in the wrists. Pressure in the elbows and arms, afterwards in the fingers and toes. Some pressure in the left knee and then in the right forearm. Pressive pain in the shoulders, knees, and ankles. Pressure in the ankles and forearms. Drawing in the calves and scapulae. Drawing in several joints and phalanges. Wandering pains in the limbs.

Stitches and pressure in the toes, shoulders, fingers, and their joints. Drawing and pressure in the shoulders, arms, ankles, and occiput. Pressure in the left knee, and afterwards in the right forearm.

Superior Extremities.

Violent painful sensation of weakness in the left shoulder and in several fingers, frequently during the day. Violent stitches in the shoulder-joints, some muscles of the arms, and in some finger-joints. Stitches in several finger-joints and in the shoulders. Shoulder. Violent pain in the right shoulder. Bruised or weary pain in the muscles of the arms and shoulders. Pressure in the shoulder-joints. Pressure in the shoulders and clavicles.

Pressure in the left shoulder, extending to the upper arm.

Pressive, stiff pain on the forepart of the left shoulder, and scapular portion of the clavicle, aggravated by motion, in the evening. Stitches between the scapulae. Stitches in the shoulders. Arm. Weakness of the whole right arm; on raising it seems heavy, as if too thick or full. Heaviness and weakness of both arms. Heaviness in the arms. Pressure in the muscles and joints of the arms. Pressure in the muscles of the arms. Pressure in the arms and wrists. Pressure in the arms. Violent pressure in the elbows and upper arms. Stitches on the inner side of the left upper arm. Stitches in the muscles of the upper arm. Elbow and Forearm. Drawing in the elbows. Pressive pains in the elbows and wrists. Violent pain in the left elbow and upper arm. Pressure in the left elbow-joint and right forearm. Violent tearing deep in the left forearm, extending into the wrists, in the evening, in bed. Pressure in the forearms and wrists, in the evening.

Pressure in the forearms and wrists. Violent pressure as with a plug in the middle of the left forearm, especially in the soft part. Pressure in the right forearm. Wrist and Hand. Boring in the wrists. Internal pressure on the back of the left wrist. Violent pressure in the wrists. Pressure in the wrists. Drawing in the left wrist. Stitches in the wrists. Weakness of the right hand, with stitches in some of the joints, followed by weakness of the right shoulder-joint. An unsteady sensation in the hands on holding objects. Feeling of unsteadiness in the hands, like a trembling, on grasping or holding objects. Pressure in the bones of the hand, at times very violent. Fingers. Sudden, violent sticking burning pain in the first phalanx of the third finger, with swelling, redness, and very blue veins; motion is unaffected and without pain; pressure decidedly aggravates the whole condition, but only for a minute; the redness and swelling last till he goes to bed, and even the next morning; the next day violent pressure causes some pain, though much less than on the previous day. Tearing in the fingers. Violent tearing in the right fingers. Tearing and pressure in the left fingers. Violent tearing in the right fingers. Tearing and pressure in the finger-joints. Pressure in the thumbs. Burning stitches on the backs of the joints of several fingers. Stitches in the second joint of the right little finger. Frequent stitches in the joints of the fingers. Stitches in several finger-joints. Stitches and pressure in one or another of the finger- joints. Stitches in the second joint of the right little finger. Some stitches through the left thumb and right index finger. Stitches in the left thumb. Violent sticking in the fingers and joints. Drawing pains in the fingers.

Inferior Extremities.

In General. Pains in various joints, especially persistent pressive pain in the left hip-joint. Long-continued pain in the whole left leg and ankle, especially on moving the ankle, painful towards the external malleolus. Pains in the lower extremities, even while walking. Boring, pressive pain in the lower extremities. Boring in the left hip, tibiae, and feet. Violent pressure in the right leg and ankle, and in the malleoli. Drawing and pressure in the legs and the backs of the feet. Drawing pressive pains in the thighs and tibiae while sitting. Hip and Thigh. Pain in the left hip, associated with pain in the skin and soft parts about the joints. Awakened about 3 A.M. by violent boring persistent pain in the left tibia. Persistent and violent pains in the left hip-joint. Drawing in the hip-joints. Pain in the hip, aggravated by walking. Pain in the right hip-joint.

Pressure in the left hip. Drawing in the right thigh. Knees.

Violent persistent pressure in the left knee, worse while sitting, obliging walking about, which somewhat relieved.

Pressure in the left, then in the right knee, and in the ankles.

If walking is persevered in the knees shake, and, refusing any longer to remain rigid, give way. Pressure in the knees. Drawing and pressure in the knees. Sticking in the soft parts above the right knee, at times very violent boring while sitting and walking. Boring in the knees. Drawing and pressure in the knees and calves. Violent stitches in the left knee in bed. Violent stitches in the forepart of the left knee. Leg. Drawing and heaviness in the calves and hollows of the knees.
