Inferior Extremities.

Numbness of the limbs as if asleep. A feeling of lassitude in the limbs, as if I had walked a great distance (sixth day). When going down stairs a sensation as if the tendon of the quadriceps extensor would give way and would fall down stairs (second day). Pain in the lower in the extremities (second day). Pain in both limbs. Pains in the legs down to the feet. Pain in the leg. A peculiar pain along the outside of the left leg, which is very frequently repeated. Rheumatic pain in right leg, extending as far as the toes in the morning (fifth day). Rheumatic pains in the leg, form the hip down (after second dose, eighth day). Rheumatism in the right leg (tenth day). Rheumatism returned in the afternoon (eleventh day). Aching of the left leg down to the heel. Tearing in the left limb. Tearing the bones of the hips and lower extremities down to the feet. Tearing in the flesh, down the whole left leg. Hip. Sticking pain in the hip and sacral region (seven hours after second dose fourth day). Stitches shoot from the right side into the hipbones in the evening. Tearing in the hip bones extending down to the feet. Thigh. Pain in the forepart of the thighs, during menses. Pain in the right thigh. Pain in the right nates. Sticking pain in the thigh extending to the knee (first day). Knee. Pain in the knees. Pain in the left knee; (third day). Pain in the left knee and foot and also in the right foot repeatedly (third day). Pain in the left kneecap. Pain in left patella (sixth day). Pain in knee under right patella soon (sixth day). Pain in the bend of the left knee which is immediately followed by very right severe, frequent but brief pain the left index finger and afterwards in the right foot. Severe pain in the right knee, also in left ankle after retiring (fourth night). Violent pain in the right kneecap. Stitches on the lower part of the knee outside in the evening. Leg. On standing a weakness below the knees with a feeling as though I would fall down (six hours after first dose fourth day). Pain in the lower legs. Pain below the knees extending to the feet. Neuralgic pains in the leg, between ankle and knee-joint (first day). Numbness in the shins in the afternoon. Pain in the left tibia. Neuralgic pains in leg along the tibia (this symptom I have felt during the whole proving); at times very severe pain in the ankle (fourth day). Pressure in the left tibia, Pressure in the left shin, at 8 A.M. and in the left shoulder at 10 A.M. (first day). Ankle. Aching in the right tarsal bones. Foot. Pain in the feet. Pain in the right foot, Pain in the left foot (first day); very violent in the whole foot (tenth day); (after first and again after fifth dose). Pressure on the left foot. Pain as a sprain in the feet. Stitches in the feet. Sticking in the soles of the feet. Stitches in the soles of the feet and toes (after 30 drops second day). Jerking in the heels. Toes. Stinging in the toes. Stinging in the left great toe.

General Symptoms.

Objective. Very languid (14th day) in the morning (eleventh day). Great weariness in the evening particularly in the extremities so that it is nearly impossible to go upstairs. Very tried all the evening; do not feel like recording the symptoms (14th day). Fatigue of the muscles my legs feeling on going upstairs as though I was struggling under the utmost weight they could bear (after two hours and three quarters). Could not go above three steps without being completely exhausted and likely to fall from, weakness and dizziness. Muscular prostration was such that I could scarcely walk across the room. Restlessness, frequent turning. Restless went from one place to another looking for something and did not know what (half an hour after second dose, fourth day). Indisposition to move, with aversion to exercise. Subjective. A feeling of lassitude over the whole body (after first dose fifth day). Feel very tired can hardly walk in the evening (eleventh day). Sensation of great fatigue in all the muscles especially (when exerted; this appeared first in those of mastication which were excessively affected by a very moderate exertion. Faint feeling which left me with vertigo (soon after first dose fourth day). A feeling all over the body as if I had been exposed to a soaking rain (first day). Rheumatic pains all over the body (6th day). Slight rheumatic pains over the whole body but of no particular moment (first day). Pressing pains in the whole body (in one hour and a half after taking the third dose of six globules, which had been repeated every fourth day). Sticking pains in different parts of the body (third day). Bruised feeling all over the body (one hour after first dose, eleventh day). (Relief of pain and watchfulness). Want to stretch myself (first day). The symptoms subsided gradually and successively, having all disappeared on the sixth day.

Skin.

Objective. Holding the flowers in the hands caused an erysipelatous itching eruption similar to Rhus, first on the hands, then spreading with dangerous respiratory troubles (observed in a young, delicate girl, who afterwards, every year at the same time had a roughness of the cheeks). Red, inflamed spots in different places on the body which appear like the beginning of blood boils, very painful and continued for several weeks. Roughness of the cheeks every summer. A red spot about the size of a pea appeared on the outside of the left leg a little below the knee; which itched excessively and was followed by a burning pain this was succeeded by a second on the outside of the leg close to the knee with excessive itching (from the afternoon of the sixth to the seventh day); on the morning of the seventh day a small spot appeared on the right knee also with some itching of short duration. An itching red spot first on the left afterwards on the right knee. Subjective. Pricking sensation in the skin generally. Slight pricking sensation such as I have felt often in the spring attended with increased tendency to sweating immediately; considerably increased, and was most conspicuous in the scalp; this prickling; sensation is peculiar, and can be compared to nothing but the effect produced on the mouth by essence of peppermint, which is a sense of coolness, with pricking by innumerable minute points at the same time (after two hours). Itching (after two hours and three quarters). Itching and burning all over the body, as if I had been bitten by mosquitoes (13th day). Considerable itching. Itching in the face at night. Itching in the bend of the right knee, in the afternoon (ninth day).

Sleep and Dreams.

Sleepiness. Sleepiness (thirteenth day), lasting four hours and a half (after three hours). Sleepiness increased. Considerable sleepiness. Began to be sleepy (after half an hour) went to sleep in twenty minutes more and slept till awakened, one hour. Very sleepy (half an hour after first dose eighth day). Very sleepy cannot study because of the sleepiness (14th day). Feel very drowsy at 3 P.M. (ninth day). Very drowsy almost falling asleep while at study; cannot concentrate my thoughts on my books at 2.30 (after four hours and three quarters sixth day). Perhaps some somnolence. Considerable somnolency. Sleeplessness. Restless sleep; unpleasant dreams; awoke about 4.30 A.M. with a dull headache after that could only sleep a few moments at a time; awaken from frightful dreams (fourth night). After retiring restless; could not sleep for two hours; tossing about in bed’ felt as though I had worked too hard and could not sleep (sixth night). Very restless after retiring could not sleep (eleventh night); awoke at 4 after which I cloud not sleep very well only a few minutes at a time; would awake out of annoying dreams (12th morning). Talking in sleep. Getting up and walking while asleep. Dreams. Fantastic dreams, Fantastic and busy dreams. Unpleasant dreams. Wild unpleasant dreams all night (second night).

Fever.

Chilliness. Skin cool, covered with cold sweat (after two hours). Chill (this symptom was left before, but I attributed it to the weather, but I find it is a regular chill), (thirteenth day). Cold and shivering on two successive days. Shivering without coldness. A momentary shivering, without coldness about 10 P.M., in bed, which seems to pass from the top of the head to the neck, under the scalp, attended with a cracking noise and at the same time alarm, without palpitation of the heart; a sensation as if the body were surcharged with electricity; this sensation was repeated four times in the course of half an hour, and the whole ended with the sound of a horn before the ears. Rapid alternations of chill and heat all over the body (third day). Creeping over the back,. Creeping over the back and weariness in the limbs. Coldness of the extremities; (after half an hour). Heat. Feeling of heat all over the body (soon), (sixth seventh and eight days). Heat and burning with pains in the loins. After taking the medicine, heat all over the body flushed face (first day). Great heat all over the body (half an hour after first dose eleventh day). Alternate heat and cold over the body (second day),. Alternate flushes of heat and chilliness all over the body (after 30 drops, second day),. Heat in the head, in the morning (fifth day). Heat in the left shoulder extending to the forearm, and from there to the tips of the fingers (first day). Sweat. Sweating more freely than usual. Moderate sweating. Skin dry. Dry skin and cracked lips.
