Respiratory Organs.-
Larynx. Aching pain in the region of the cricoid cartilage, aggravated by every attempt at deglutition (2 hours and a half after 1st dose, 4th day). Deepseated pain in lower part of the larynx, particularly in the region of the cricoid cartilage (1 hour and three-quarters after 2nd dose). A sensation in hawking or clearing the larynx, as though the surface was raw (3rd day).
Cough and Expectoration. Short hacking cough, with a constant, painful urging to swallow, which produced nausea and inclination to vomit, with profuse lachrymation (15 minutes after 1st dose, 3rd day). Constant, short, painful hacking cough, and what little is hawked up is streaked with blood, as if the throat was raw (1 hour after 2nd dose, 3rd day). Coughing, or even hawking, brings up a sanious fluid (half an hour after 2nd dose, 8th day); (after 3 hours, 9th day).
Heart and Pulse
Pulse 80 at 2 a. m. (5th day). Pulse 92 (1 hour after 2nd dose, 4th day). Pulse 94 (half an hour after 3rd dose, 4th day). Pulse 95 at 9 a. m. (8th day).
Inferior Extremities.
The legs feel as though I could not move them, and tremble when I attempt to stand (11th day).
General symptoms
Felt weak, and unable to attend to any business (5th day). Weak, and very much prostrated (1 hour after 2nd dose, 4th day). Terrible weakness and languor, particularly of the lower limbs, which compelled me to lie down (after half an hour, 11th day).
Sleep
Restless night (3rd night). Sleepless night (4th night).
Fever
Fever (4th night). Face hot (1 hour after 2nd dose, 4th day). Profuse perspiration (1 hour after 2nd dose, 4th day).
