Sexual organs

Even on the first night he noticed, after coition with his wife, slight burning on the penis, and there appeared a slight abrasion in the skin at the point where the prepuce joins the penis, although it was washed with cold water the soreness increased, so that after eight days there was a suppurating streak several lines broad running half way around between the glans and prepuce the spot was treated with charpie and linen, but continued to have an ugly look, the ulcer became larger, the margins hard, the base lardaceous, bleeding easily on slight pressure, so that it reminded one of a chancre frequently there was a small scab, beneath which pus continued to ooze, and which frequently came off and left a suppurating ulcer as before this continued for nineteen days after a few days a hard healthy scab formed in the middle, which at last fell off, leaving healthy skin, so that the form of the ulcer was completely changed, instead of being once long narrow ulcer, there were now two small round ones, these healed after thirty-seven days, leaving no visible scar, Frequent erections during the day. Frequent erections day and night.

General symptoms

Muscles somewhat relaxed. General exhaustion and disinclination for the usual business (third day).

Skin

Objective. Have seen several cases of eruptions on and behind the ears of children who had eaten freely of the nuts, and a few cases of extremely itching eruption, which made its appearance over the entire body. Eruption one the face, neck, shoulders, and back consisting of small red pimples, some of which were larger and contained a thickish fluid (a kind of acne). Pimples on the face. Small pimples on the nape of the neck discharging some moisture when scratched off like ordinary acne. An old tetter on the dorsal surface of the hand above the thumb, of the size of a penny (which had almost entirely disappeared under Mezereum). began to itch violently and became sore and red. Subjective. Itching in the skin in various parts of the body, itching here and there in the skin, Restless sleep on account of itching here and there in the skin many dreams and repeated erections, Burning and itching in the skin, of the legs, arms, and abdomen, here and there, with restless tossing about in bed and inability to sleep first night. Violent burning and itching on the flexor surface of the right forearm, near the elbow joint and the appearance of a red spot as large as a half dollar, in the middle of which small pimple developed the next day the red spot had disappeared, the pimples had become larger, very painful, and another furuncle was dreaded although some pus formed it did not increase in size but disappeared, so that nothing could be seen after six days. Itching on the sternum obliging him to scratch, itching on the dorsum of the right hand frequently obliging scratching afterwards on the feet, forehead, scalp, and abdomen, without visible appearance on the skin (seventh day). Itching on several fingers of the right hand, in the afternoon. Frequent itching of the hands. Constant itching of the right hand (after one hour). The skin of the right axilla itched and burned, and became sore and cracked during the next month it continued very red and scaly it became moist and a large tetter formed, consisting of small vesicles with very violent burning if I perspired much the tetter became much worse the next day the perspiration together with the secretion form the eruption made a greenish yellow stain and stiffened the linen the pain became so great at times that all violent motion of the arm was impossible the glands were not swollen in order to relieve the itching and burning the spot was at times washed with cold water nothing else was used. I notices that increased burning and itching were always associated with aggravation and extension of the tetter, so that always a few hours after increased burning and itching a new eruption of vesicles and a larger extent of redness became apparent during the succeeding month the same trouble broke out in the left axilla but did not become so violent another month later a small furuncle appeared on the shoulder (on the coracoid process). Suppurated and healed after a few days ten days afterwards a very large and painful furuncle appeared over the biceps muscles about two inches from the elbow; it was surrounded by a circumscribed redness and induration it ripened after ten days and discharge much bloody matter and speedily healed after still another month there appeared two red spots on the right elbow joint, which itched violently, and upon which there developed a small yellow pustule these both disappeared after eight days. At this time the tetter in the axillae had not entirely healed in the right axilla there was almost nothing to be see, in the left there appeared a new eruption of small burning vesicles, which afterwards formed a red moist spot perspiration aggravated the burning and moisture very much, so that the shirt over a lager space was stained yellow and stiffened about this time there also appeared on the right side between the ninth and tenth rib another furuncle, with decided induration and violent pain, which ran a course of nine days and discharged some bloody matter, leaving an induration for a long time. About this time a red spot appeared on the arm, not far from the seat of the second furuncle, continuing to enlarge for ten days, becoming rather hard, something like a small cystic tumor or indurated gland, but quite painless at this time there also appeared on the left instep and afterwards on the right (though here in a less degree) a peculiar skin-affection, a redness of the size of a half dollar, with itching and eruption of small vesicles, leaving behind a small hard scurf, whereby the whole place became elevated and very painful; the small scabs especially caused violent pain, since they were pressed in by the boot and rubbed off, so that the part became raw and was prevented from healing. The distressing trouble lasted for a month, after which it gradually disappeared though the spot remained of a bluish-red color, thickish and swollen, for a long time.
