Introduction

An oxidation produce, from the juices of several plants, chiefly indigofera tinctoris, linn.

Natural order: Leguminosae.

Preparation: Triturations.

Mind

Illusions of sensation; it constantly seems to her as though she had a large goitre, which was very prominent; she was constantly obliged to look down and feel whether it was so, Very lively mood (third day). Head

Vertigo. Vertigo (fourth day). General Head. Pressure, or rather a cramp like plain, in the left temples (fifth day). pressing from with in outwards at the temples (fourth day). Pressure from within outwards in the right afterwards at the temple and immediately afterwards in the;left temple. (seventeenth day). Sharp stitches in the right temple, in the forenoon (third day). Some tearings in the right temple, and immediately afterwards in the chin and thumb with gnawing in the middle of the lower jaw. Painful tearing and sticking in the left temple, deep in the brain; in the forenoon (third day). Vertex. Sensation as though something heavy were lying upon the vertex (fourth day). Heaviness in the head as if a heavy weight were lying on the vertex, when stooping, in the afternoon, sticking in the top of the head, deep in the brain, and also externally (first day). Acute though only transient sticking on the vertex, in the afternoon (third day). Tearing on the vertex, deep in the brain, extending to the occiput. Parietals. The head feels screwed in from both sides relieved by stooping less violent on rising up (seventh day). Drawings in the right side of the head (after four hours) Pressure on the right parietal bone (third day). Sticking pain in the right side of the head, extending thence to the ear (after one hour) sticking as with knives in the right parietal bone and at the same time in the stomach, on sitting bent over, disappearing on becoming erect, in the afternoon (first day). A Coarse stitch in the right side of the head extending deep into the brain. Severe coarse stitches as with a awl in the left side of the head (after two days), Painful tearing in the right side extending forward, in the forenoon, while sitting (third day). Beating externally in the left parietal bone in the upper part near its union with the right; immediately afterwards a similar beating in the left outer ear, while sitting, after dinner, violent, jerking pain in the upper part of the right immediately after wards a similar beating in the left outer ear, while sitting, after dinner, violent jerking pain in the upper part of the right parietal bone, in the morning after rising, disappearing after some motion. Occiput. Painful raging in the bones of the left side of the occiput. Dull headache like a heaviness in the occiput, in the afternoon, Warmth and rushing like boiling water in the occiput (first day). Heat in the occiput, afterwards more in the middle of the brain lasting a long time (fifth day) Drawing pain in the left side of the occiput, in the afternoon. Pain in the left side of the occiput, lancinating shooting through the head to the occiput, (second day). Extremely violent sticking pain in the right side of the occiput (after two hours). Some violent fine stitches in the occiput, which reappear after a few minutes while sitting (first day). Throbbing together with painful stitches in the occiput, at 7 p. m. (first day). Pulsation in the left side of the occiput and in the right elbow joint (first day). External Head. Painful drawing in the upper part of the head, externally (after half an hour). A peculiar sensation of fine sticking and of coldness in the scalp in front of an above the right ear, spreading out like rays from this point quite momentary (first day). Several fine burning stitches as when one pulls out a single hair (third day) Feeling as if some one pulled a lock of hair on the vertex. Feeling as if some one pulled the hair on the left vertex, while sitting in the forenoon.

Eye

The eyes seems weak as though they would close without sleepiness, Pressure in the eyes for several days, pressure in the left eye (after half an hour). Orbit. Pain in the left side of the orbit (after two hours). Tearing in the bones of the left lower orbital margin, towards the nose, while sitting (after two hours and a half). Lids. Inflammation of the meibomian gland of the left lower lid (fifth day). Jerking or twitching above the right lid, painless (first day). Jerking and burning in the right side of the lower lid. Spasmodic twitching of the right lid (second day). An agreeable sensation about the lids and nose (fourth day). Sensation as if the upper lid were drawn down (after one hour and a half). Twitching in the right canthus so violent that it impaired vision, in the evening (third day), Fine sticking in the right inner canthus disappearing, on rubbing (second day). Itching in the inner canthus, now in one, now in the other eye, in the evening (third day). Ball. Pain in the left eyeball, in the evening (second day).

Born in 1837in Westminster, Vermont. . He was an orthodox doctor who converted to homeopathy
Dr. Allen compiled the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica over the course of 10 years.
In 1881 Allen published A Critical Revision of the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
