Eyes

Right eye became much inflamed; lids glued together. Purulent mucus (gum) is constantly in the eyes; she is obliged to wipe them frequently. Twitching and throbbing in the eyes, by paroxysms (after twenty days). The eyes are affected and watery (after seven days). A sensation as if fat were in the eyes. A feeling as if something painless were moving on the right eye. The eyes pain so that she is obliged to close them, with a feeling as if she ought to press them in (after eight days). A painful sensation as if a small foreign body were in the eyes (after seventeen days). Cold feeling in the eyes (immediately). Burning of the eyes (second day). Burning in the eyes, when closing the lids. Burning in the eyes, on the head, and in the throat (after seven days). Burning and itching in the eyes (after eight days). Sensation of heat in the eyes, with heaviness in the upper lids. Tension in the muscles of the eyes, on turning them, and exerting them by reading. Severe pressure, day and night, as if a grain of sand were under the upper lid. Pressure in the eyes, in the evening. Pressure and burning in the eyes, with lachrymation. Pain in the eyes, as if they were pressed in. Sticking pain in the right eye, as if a foreign body were between the lower lid and the ball. Sticking and biting in the eye. Severe stitch in the eye, which had a lachrymal fistula. Stitches in the left eye, as from a foreign body (second day). Stitches in the eye and in the head (during menstruation), (after eight days). Tearing in the left eye. Biting in the eye (after seven days). Soreness of eyes. Itching in the eyes, in the evening, but pressure in the morning. Orbit. Swelling under the left eye, without pain. Severe stitches over the right eye, in the supraorbital nerve (evening of first day). Lids. Swelling of the lower lid, in the morning, after rising. Swelling and redness of the lids, with nightly agglutination; during the day they are full of gum, with a hot sensation and smarting pain and lachrymation (after eleven days). Redness of the margins of the lid. Spasmodic trembling of the lower lid. The left lower lid was spasmodically moved downward towards the internal canthus. Twitching in the upper lids, with a sensation as if the eye were moving of itself (after eighteen days). She was obliged to wink when reading; the eyes kept continually closing (they were red and watery). Dry matter on the margins of the lids and in the canthi. Agglutination of the eyes. Agglutination of the eyes, in the morning, on waking (third day). Lids agglutinated in various places, in the morning (second day). The lids are agglutinated with gum in the morning, the eyes look watery, and pain if she looks at the light (after twenty- four hours). During menstruation the eyes become agglutinated, with lachrymation, together with heaviness of the head and inability to fix the thoughts. Smarting pain in the lower lid. Itching on the margins of the lids. Inflammation and swelling of the left canthus and lower lid, with sticking and throbbing pain and itching all about (after ten days). Burning in the inner canthus, with stitches near it. Stitches in the inner canthi, with alternating stitches and throbbing in the eyes, and after the pain disappeared, frequent blowing of the nose. Itching in the canthi. Itching in the right inner canthus. Lachrymal Apparatus. Lachrymation (second day). Lachrymation of the right eye (seventh day). Profuse lachrymation of the right eye, with burning (third day). Lachrymation in the morning. Lachrymation in the evening (after five days). Lachrymation on writing. Biting water runs from the left eye, which is red. Conjunctiva. Redness of the white of the eye. Redness of the white of the eye, with pressure in the eyes (after twenty days). Some blood oozes from the white of the eye, which is very red, but painless. Ball. Stiffness of the left eyeball, in the morning, after rising; is unable to move it without an unpleasant sensation. Pupil. Dilated pupils. Vision. Small objects seem more distinct than large ones. Farsightedness; she was obliged to wear convex glasses when reading. Farsightedness; formerly she saw both far and near objects distinctly, now she is unable to recognize anything fine near her; cannot thread a needle (first nine days). It seemed as though a shadow passed before the eyes, with very dilated pupils, so that one side of objects was invisible; she saw, for example, only one eye in a person. Dimness of vision; she felt the need of closing the eyes without being sleepy (after six days). Dimness of the eyes, after getting the head cold (after six days). Sudden blindness, immediately after dinner; he was unable to see the table, even, by which he sat; together with anxious sweat and nausea, and an appearance of a bright shiny light before the eyes; after an hour’s sleep it disappeared. The light blinds her. The sunlight hurts the eye and causes headache. The glare of the candlelight is sensitive to the eyes and head. Letters dance before the eyes. Appearance of flickering and sparks of fire before the eyes, in the morning, on waking. Flickering before the eyes, and weakness of them. He saw a halo around the light and the moon. In the dark, she seemed to see electric sparks before the eyes. Black spots float before the left eye (second day). At times, she saw a black spot before the left eye, which disappeared after a few minutes. A black point accompanied the letters, when reading. During physical exertion she often saw black spots before the eyes (after eleven days). Like feathers before the eyes. It seemed like a veil before the sight in both inner canthi, which disappeared with lachrymation. A darkness or blackness passes before the eyes at times. Frightful visions appear on closing eyes.

Ears

Objective. Great swelling of the right ear. Swelling of the left ear, with itching. Swelling of the inner ear and the right side of the face, with profuse secretion of the ear-wax. Swelling in front of the left ear, which pains like a boil when touched. Profuse purulent discharge from both ears. A little water trickles from the ear (with which he hears well), while it is difficult to hear with the other ear (which has good wax). Subjective. Sensation of fanning before the left ear. Flapping in the ear, as if a piece of skin were loose in it. Burning pain around the ear. Heat within the ears, like hot blood (after twenty-nine days). Heat streams out of the left ear (after five days). The bones behind the left ear seem swollen, and itch; the parts pain on touch as if suppurating. Cramplike pain in the ear (after seven days). Drawing, dull pain in the ears. Pressure in the ears. Crushing in the ears when swallowing (first days). Pain in the ear, as if something pierced through it. Shooting in the ear, when sneezing. Sticking in the left ear. Sticking and pain in the right ear. Stitches behind the left ear (in the morning, third day). Stitches in the left ear and in the temples, which disappeared during rest with closed eyes. Tearing stitches in the right ear (after three days). Tearing behind the left ear. Tearing in the left ear. Twitching in the right ear, with a hissing noise, every minute, and so violent that the whole body twitched with it. Pulsation in the ears (first day). Crawling in the right ear (after seven days). Burning-itching in both ears. Hearing. Sensitiveness in the brain to a shrill sound. Bad hearing (first three days). Hard of hearing for a long time. When blowing the nose very hard, something comes before the ear, so that she cannot hear well (on swallowing, it disappears). Noises in the left ear and in the head. Humming in the left ear. Singing in the ears, followed by crackling in them. Singing at one time, at another cracking in the left ear. Singing and roaring in the ears. Ringing before the ears. A cracking in the ear, when chewing. A grunting in the ear, when swallowing. A loud roaring in the ears, with difficult hearing, in the morning (second day).

Nose

Objective. Inflammation, redness, and swelling of the forepart of the nose. Swelling of the nose, especially at the root, frequently appearing and disappearing (after six days). Swelling of the right wing of the nose, with painfulness to touch. Sore, ulcerated nostril, preceded by frequent sneezing. Pimple in the right nostril, only painful on moving the muscles of the face and nose; the wing of the nose is red and itches externally and internally. Painful pimple in the left nostril, with itching- stinging pain. A red spot on the tip of the nose. Twitching in the external muscles of the nose (after fourteen days). A smell from the nose as of bad eggs, or of gunpowder (after one hour). Coryza; it affects him in every limb. Severe, coryza, which disappeared after two days and changed to a violent colic, lasting several days (after seventeen days). Severe coryza, with headache and oppression of the chest (tenth and sixteenth day). Severe coryza, with heat in the head, and cough (after thirteen days). Violent coryza, for eight days (after thirty-six days). Violent coryza, with pain in the lower abdomen. Fluent coryza. Fluent coryza for three days, with ulceration of the left nostril (after nine days). Fluent coryza with great weariness. Profuse fluent coryza. Frequent sneezing, without coryza. Much sneezing, in the morning. Profuse discharge of mucus from the nose, while it is stopped (fourteenth day). Profuse bleeding of the nose (after ten days). Nose-bleed, in the morning (seventh day). Severe nose-bleed, as in a profuse venesection, almost to faintness. Some nose-bleed, at night (thirteenth day). Blackish blood is blown from the nose. Stopped nose (after eighteen days). Complete stoppage of the nose, in the morning, on rising. Stoppage of the nose, with coryza. Subjective. The skin of the nose seems covered with oil (after twenty- five days). Dryness of the nose (after twenty-two days). Nose dry the whole day (first day). Dry nose at night; moist during the day. Tensive pressure above the nasal bones, as if they were swollen. Sore, painful, swollen, and erysipelatous-looking nose; it is quite hard to the touch, and attended with much frontal headache. Soreness of the right nostril. A sore pain on the border of the nostrils, and especially in the septum of the nose. The almost sore nostril stings and pains on touch. Itching of the nose, internally and externally (after two days). Smell. The sense of smell is very sensitive (after twenty-two days). The smell is blunted. Very offensive smell in the nose (after twenty-five days).
