CORYZA.

DRY CORYZA –

Dry coryza, with intense sneezing at night; no discharge; cough has suddenly ceased.

FLUENT CORYZA –

Hot and acrid from the nares.

Thick mucus, white or yellow: or, Yellow excoriating thin mucus.

Green, offensive, purulent mucus from nares, without coryza.

WORSE –

At night, the breath seems hot to the mucous surfaces. Damp rooms, or work in cellars.

From cold.

BETTER –

From heat.

SPECIAL –

Throat feels sore, dry and stiff as if it had been strained.

Crusty fever blister on nose and lips (Natr. mur.).

COUGH –

DRY COUGH-

Dry, tickling, teasing cough; worse from uncovering even a hand; with moist skin, and stitching pains in thorax.

In the evening, after lying down, preventing sleep; lasting until midnight, or, until he gets up and walks around; stitches in chest.

Short, anxious, dry, painful cough, awakening from sleep; shattering head; short breathing; painful pressure at pit of stomach.

Dry cough, with taste of blood, though no blood is seen.

Dry during the day, wrenching the stomach.

Dry cough, with organic heart-trouble.

Teasing dry cough, before a chill Dry cough, with stiffness of neck and shoulders.

SPUTA –

Usually none; or, very scanty; with taste of blood; or, With bitter taste in the throat; evening; lying down; morning, in bed.

CHRONIC COUGH –

Green or gray-green cold mucus, of putrid smell o blood. (Chronic bronchitis.)

WORSE –

From exposure to cold air.

From motion, muscles of chest.

Beginning to move; better after moving.

At night, lying down.

Evening till midnight.

Change of weather; or, work in damp places.

From getting wet and chilled.

When at rest.

BETTER –

From warmth.

SENSATIONS –

Great sensitiveness to cold air.

Uncovering the least starts cough.

Stitches in intercostal muscles. Stiffness and stitches in muscles of neck.

Irritation to cough behind sternum.

Stiffness of back and limbs better from motion, but worse on beginning to move.

SPECIAL – Cough from strains, or over-exertion, as blowing wind instruments; from getting wet and chilled.

Typhoid states in pneumonia.
