CORYZA.

FLUENT CORYZA–

Fluent coryza, with sneezing, watery discharge. (Acute.)

DISCHARGES–

Watery discharge becomes Yellow and copious.

CHRONIC CORYZA–

Yellow, thick, and mostly from anterior nares, which becomes sore.

Yellowish-green discharge, becoming greener on exposure to light.

From posterior nares, tasting salty in the morning.

Thick yellowish discharge from nose; a greenish scab is sometimes blown from the nose in the morning.

With some blood and an offensive smell.

Scab seems to come from ulcer on membrane.

Pain at root of nose; it feels stopped up.

Starch-like, gray, salty-tasting phlegm hawked in morning and during day, with weight on chest.

WORSE–

In morning.

At night.

In damp weather.

TEMPERAMENT–

Inability to think; depressed; irritable.

Lively music makes her sad.

Dislikes to be spoken to.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH–

Dry cough, worse at night, with soreness in chest; must sit up and hold chest with hands; worse from tickling in throat.

LOOSE, CHRONIC COUGH–

Loose, purulent cough in morning, with pain in lower left side; and thick, ropy, greenish purulent sputa.

SPUTA–

None, at first (Acute.)

Thick, greenish, purulent ropy, rather scanty. (Chronic.)

Salty-tasting phlegm from the throat.

Gluey slime with asthma; 4 to 5 A.M.

WORSE–

Swallowing solids, sore throat.

From talking; sore throat.

From least motion, breathing worse.

When coughing, soreness of chest; better from pressure.

In damp weather, great dyspnea.

4 to 5 a.m.

BETTER–

From pressure.

All gone feeling in chest.

CHEST AND RESPIRATION–

Great dyspnea and desire to take deep breath, coming on in damp weather.

Asthma in young people from general bronchial catarrh; worse in every change to damp weather.

Asthma 4 to 5 a.m.; cough and raising of glairy slime; always in damp, rainy weather.

Soreness of chest when coughing; better from pressure.

All gone feeling in chest.

Stitches in chest, especially the left; stitches from abdomen to chest.

Hay asthma; patient has great dread of attacks; begins with sneezing and dyspnea; cannot lie down; breathing worse from least motion.

THROAT–

Tickling in throat.

Dryness of sore throat extending to esophagus; no thirst.

Feels contracted when swallowing saliva; worse swallowing solids and from talking.

Sometimes, great thirst for cold drinks; disgust for bread and for meat.

Great thirst; no appetite.

SPECIAL–

Constitutional tendency to catarrh in children.

SENSATIONS–

Desire to take a deep breath, with difficult breathing; worse in damp weather.

Stitches in chest, or in abdomen.
