CORYZA.

THICK CORYZA –

Heavy fluent coryza, with hard frontal headache all day, worse at 10.30 A.M.

Thick, grayish mucus from posterior nares.

Nasal catarrh with continual running down throat.

WORSE –

Coryza. 10.30 A.M.

Headache, stooping.

Hoarseness, reading.

BETTER –

From clearing out thick mucus.

SENSATIONS –

Feeling as of tight band drawn across forehead; worse leaning forward.

Pressure back of eyes, as if they would be forced out, extending over brain to back of neck (Spigel.)

Entire loss of smell.

Pharynx feels very stiff and sore.

Dryness and hoarseness of throat, especially while reading.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH –

Dry, severe cough, incessant at night, with dryness and lump in throat.

LOOSE, PAINFUL COUGH –

Terribly painful, loose cough; as if larynx would be torn to pieces, or the lining be torn off; with profuse, viscid, gray mucus, mixed with blood.

Deep, hollow cough, as if in an empty barrel; bronchi feel enlarged and hollow; and lining seems loose and flabby.

LOOSE, DIFFICULT COUGH –

Ineffectual hard cough; cannot get under rattling mucus, it seems too low down; cough not go deep enough; must lie down on face to raise gelatinous, yellowish, tasteless mucus.

SPUTA –

None, cough dry.

Profuse, difficult, viscid, grayish mucus.

Gelatinous, tasteless, abundant mucus.

Little, greenish, bitter balls.

WORSE –

At night, dry cough.

Lying down, dry cough worse; loose cough better.

From sweet things, dry cough.

Falling asleep, cough wakens.

BETTER –

Lying on face, raises better.

SENSATIONS –

Tickling under sternum.

Sinking under sternum; dry cough.

Terribly painful larynx, as if torn, or the lining were peeled off.

Dryness and excoriation of larynx; feeling of lump, with dry cough.

As if bronchi were enlarged, and lining membrane flabby.

As if could not get under sputa; cough does not go down far enough.

Heat in chest; burning in chest.

Soreness in chest; cough very raw and painful.

Burning, empty feeling in chest.

Sore, blistered spot in chest.
