CORYZA.

DRY CORYZA-

Dry coryza; extreme rawness and dryness of throat and larynx, without thirst; but with very painful deglutition, cutting like knives; or, raw and feeling as if denuded.

DISCHARGES-

None; or, Very scanty, adhesive, difficult, thick, gray, or green, bloody mucus.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH-

Sub-acute, or chronic cough.

Fatiguing paroxysms of cough; with great weakness of chest; hoarseness; and emptiness of chest, as if eviscerated.

Dry, in bed, of three coughs; shaking body.

LOOSE COUGH-

Loose tickling cough; profuse mucus, or purulent expectoration; with great weakness of chest.

Loose, easy cough; abundant mucus from trachea; great weakness of chest.

SPUTA-

Sweetish, salty, sour, or putrid sputa.

Like white of egg.

Thick, grayish lumps.

Copious, green, salty.

Profuse in morning.

WORSE-

Morning, loose cough; morning and evening.

At night, hard cough.

From motion; oppressed breathing.

From breathing deeply.

Lying on side.

From drinking anything warm.

Talking, laughing, or singing.

Talking weakens all over, but particularly the chest.

By raising a little mucus.

CHEST AND RESPIRATION-

Itching and tickling deep down in the chest.

Sore feeling in chest.

Empty feeling in chest and stomach, as if eviscerated; so weak he cannot talk; speaks only a few words at a time.

Asthmatic attacks lasting 36 to 48 hours; must sit up all the time; go off gradually; must have clothing loosened.

Oppressed breathing from every motion; coughing, lying down; in evening; fatiguing cough; chest so weak he cannot talk.

SENSATIONS-

Stinging dryness in the throat.

Temporary hoarseness in throat and chest; better by coughing up mucus.

Extreme rawness and dryness of throat and larynx; no thirst; very painful, and with cutting like knives.

Of extreme exhaustion in chest; in larynx; in stomach; of mind and body; so weak he cannot talk.

Tickling and soreness low down in trachea.

Internal feeling of rattling and scraping in chest.

Stitches in chest and sides hinder breathing.

Emptiness at pit of stomach; wants to breathe deeply.

Emptiness of chest, as if eviscerated.

SPECIAL-

Extreme exhaustion of mind and body; great sense of weakness in larynx, chest, and thence all over body.

Laryngeal phthisis; aphonia; short, hacking cough.
