TEMPERAMENT –
Morose, forgetful; hysterical; contradictory and opposite states of mind in quick succession.
CORYZA.
FLUENT CORYZA –
Sneezing and lachrymation.
Sense of smell too acute; exaggerated.
Very foul, disagreeable smell before the nose.
The odor of his own body, or of his own clothing, very foul, like chicken dung.
DRY CORYZA –
Sense of smell lost; nose free.
Dryness of nose chronic; dry coryza, with purulent phlegm from fauces.
Firm, tough mucus in fauces.
Gagging and retching caused by raising this.
Rawness of throat.
Worse after eating.
Voice hoarse and deep.
Talking excites cough.
COUGH.
Violent, spasmodic cough, with fluent coryza, and loss of taste and smell.
Yawning and sleepiness, following violent cough.
Deep, hollow cough wakes him at night.
Sputa only by day.
Loss of breath on beginning to cough.
Abdomen feels as if it would burst with spasmodic cough.
Pain in vertex, or in occiput with spasmodic cough.
Oppression of chest drives him into open air : without pain, but with anxiety and heat.
Attacks of suffocation, in whooping cough.
SPUTA –
Sweetish or flat tasting, tenacious mucus; grayish, yellow, or purulent.
Tough, firm, adhesive mucus in fauces, causing gagging and retching (Agnus castus).
BETTER –
Keeping busy, and in open air.
WORSE –
Beginning to cough, loses breath.
After meals; but not at once.
Vomiting of food, with spasmodic cough.
Talking excites cough.
At intervals; 2 to 3 hours; every other day.
Dry at night; looser by day; sputa only by day.
SENSATIONS –
Loss of breath beginning to cough.
Abdomen feels as if it would burst from cough. Pain in vertex or occiput with cough.
Oppression in chest drives him into open air.
