Abrotanum [Abrot]

It is one of the remedies, which is applicable in the metastasis of Mumps to the testicle or mammary glands [Arsenicum, Carbo V., Pulsatilla].

Arsenicum [Ars]

It is useful, in Parotiditis accompanying Scarlatina after the failure of Rhus Tox.

Belladonna [Bell]

It is useful in Parotiditis, esp. on the right side. The symptoms indicating it are: Stitches extending to the ear. The gland is swollen, hot and red; the orifice of Steno’s duct is painful, as if abraded. Mouth and throat coated with mucus of a thick and tenacious layer. Tongue is white and fissured. Saliva, thick, gluey, yellowish and tenacious.

Calcarea Carb [Calc-c]

It is one of the very best remedies, in the Materia Medica for Parotiditis accompanying Scarlatina, when the rash recedes, leaving

the face puffed and pale.

Lachesis [Lach]

It is only indicated when the swelling is purplish and the pus is not laudable, but thin excoriating and ichorous.

Lycopodium [Lyc]

It is also one of the very best remedies, ranking next to Calcarea Carb, for Parotiditis accompanying Scarlatina.

Rhus Tox [Rhus-t]

Probably it is the very best remedy in the Materia Medica for Parotiditis accompanying Scarlatina and it is the left parotid gland that is most likely to be affected under it [Ammonium Carb.-the right].
