Characteristic Symptoms
Twitchings of the facial muscles. Mouth and eyes open in rapid succession, irregular convulsive movements of one side of the body, most right; the head often jerked to one side. The words are jerked out. When the hand is put to the face, it is arrested midway, and jerked down. The movements cease during sleep (reverse Zizia), return as violent in the morning. Unsteady gait. Constant motion of the whole body, also in sitting. Violent erections of the penis, which is curved, and causes much pain.
