Characteristic symptoms
Very rapid respiration by going only a short walk, and by continued motion rapid, difficult and painful respiration, with painful constriction beneath sternum.
Therapeutics
Recommended by Hahnemann in typhoid fevers, with sensorial apathy, where other remedies are not indicated. The patient is in stupor, difficult to arouse, and falls immediately back into the same indifferent state. Hahnemann gave a few drops of the mother tincture in a glass half full of water every two or three hours, until reaction was manifested (compare Phosphor. acid, Helleborus). Recommended by Liedbeck, of Stockholm, as antidotes in the ill-effects of halophagia. (Confirmed by author in practice).
