Wilhelm Karo gives a detail description of the female symptoms of homeopathy remedy Gelsemium, in his book Homeopathy in Women’s Disease, published in 1942….

      It is the drug for nervous, excitable, hysterical women, suffering from onanism.

General Symptoms.

      Great irritability, cannot bear to be spoken to. Every exciting news causes diarrhoea. Nervous headache; dizziness of the head with blurred vision; aggravation by movements.

Special Symptoms.

      Menstruation retarded with severe pains at the onset. Menstrual flow very poor with sharp, labour-like pains in the genital organs.

Leucorrhoea : while discharge with aching across the lower part of the back.
