Characteristic for its choice are the general weakness and paleness, the dryness of the mucous membrane, formication and numbness of hands and feet; the craving of warmth– in opposition to Secale –aggravation from walking in the dark; potatoes always agree poorly.
“Rheumatism is confessedly a very difficult disease to cure by the Old School treatment. Seldom is a case of the inflammatory form completely cured by them. The great majority of their cases run from the acute into the chronic form, and last for life. However, I went on experimenting and at last discover that my trouble was due to overnutrition.
Menstrual difficulties obtain here also– uterine discharges of a chronic character, sterility, ovaritis, ovarian neuralgia, colics, pituitary headaches and many other “algias” and “isms” which deplete the body of its health and happy vigour. The child was now better under all conditions, could sleep indoors and take its food without any discomfort.
It frequently happens that as soon as an eruption has been driven in the patient begins to complain about serious disorders elsewhere. A driven-in skin disease frequently produces extremely serious consequences in the organs of digestion, in the lungs, the heart and elsewhere.
Inimical microbes as well as body cells are composed of protoplasm. Both are simple in form and structure but highly organized chemically, and in the course of evolution have come to be the peers of each other as a result of the struggle for existence. In Natures eyes, “one is just as good as the other”, and both have a right to live.
Such fruits as grapes, limes, lemons (in moderation) oranges and grape fruit or such like juices will do much to purify the blood rather than increase its sugar content, in spite of the contra opinion held and advice given by the majority of doctors. This change alone, if persisted in, would in the majority of cases eventually bring about the desired results.
In bathing, especially in winter, it will be sufficient to soap the body only twice, or even once a week, except in the folds or hairy parts of the skin where odours might develop. If the skin is sufficiently frictioned with a wet rough washcloth every day it need not be soaped at all except where odours might develop.
Notwithstanding my criticism of the attitude of the doctors, surgeons, and researchers towards the cancer problem, I would like to repeat that this book is of considerable value and I hope that it will be widely read. I will give a quotation characteristic of the book:.
There being no convenient anchorage on left side he was compelled to forego the use of his pipe entirely, but the sore did not get well– in fact, it grew. He used all sorts of soothing and healing applications to no avail and the sore continued to grow. In size it was 4 or 5 mm. in diameter with just a denuded skin and mucous membrane.
Hippocrates claimed two thousand three hundred years ago that “all disease comes from impurities in the blood”. It is essential for health that the blood be pure, and rich in the vital elements so that the body which is nourished by the blood in all its parts, be fed and invigorated with a pure life stream.
Cases are there where not only internal administration of medicine but mechanical manipulation of surgeons knife is absolutely necessary. Here we should not misconstrue the issue at point. Modern surgery with its up-to-date paraphernalia is doing wonders, where the idea of cure by medicine will be simply ludicrous.
