Lachnanthes



Throat

Scraping throat, with stinging when swallowing, sleeplessness, dryness increasing, afterwards hoarseness, at 10 P. M. (second day); throat is better, hoarseness continues till 2 P. M. followed by burning and itching on the right knee, which looks scarlet-red (third day). Sensation of swelling in the pharynx; an itching sensation there when swallowing (after three hours and a half, first day).

Stomach

Aversion to meat (twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth days). Much thirst. Sweetish rising of water, with nausea, at 4 P. M. (fourteenth day). Hiccough in bed, lasting half an hour (tenth day). Sudden qualmishness in the stomach (second day). When walking in the open air, sensation of squeamishness above the navel (after two hours, second day). Rumbling in the left side of the stomach, very soon; later in the left side of the abdomen, then as if it were in the large intestines low down; can hear it, but does not feel it (first day). Fulness in pit of stomach (fifth day).

Abdomen

In the upper part of the abdomen, one inch above the navel, turning and twirling (after two hours, second day). Cutting in the right upper side of the abdomen (seventh day). Cutting pain in the right side of the abdomen over the navel (after seven hours, third day). Rolling of wind in the abdomen (fifth day). Much rumbling in the abdomen (first night). Frequent rumbling and rolling in the abdomen (fourth day). Continuous rumbling and rolling in the abdomen (after three hours, second day). Much rumbling and rolling in the abdomen and discharge of flatulency (fifth day). Sensation of heat in the abdomen, with a sensation as if the bowels would be moved, soon; after a movement of bowels, the sensation decreased (first day). Cutting in the upper part of the abdomen from the left to the right side (first day). Sensation as if the bowels would be moved, but they were not (after each dose, fourth day). Sensation in the left groin as if wind was moving in it (after seven hours and a half, second day).

Rectum and Anus.

A continuous stitch in the anus, in the forenoon (first day). Slight inclination to stool (fifth day). Frequent inclination to stool without success (third and fourth days).

Stool

Bowels are much moved, evacuation natural, passes much wind and has to strain a great deal, at 5.45 P. M. (after a quarter of an hour); has usually one regular evacuation in the morning, none in the afternoon (first day). Bowels moved twice, morning and night (second day); twice in the morning (third day).

Urinary Organs

Pressing in the bladder during micturition (after two hours and a half, first day). Some drops flow out of the urethra, coloring the shirt red, during the night (tenth day).

Sexual Organs.

Strong burning in the left half of the scrotum, extending towards the right side (after two hours, second day).

Respiratory Organs

Burning in the right side of the larynx (fourth day). Short cough, with sore throat, at night in bed (third day); worse in bed and preventing sleep (fourth and fifth days); slight (sixth day); a little, in morning (ninth day); some, in evening (tenth day).

Chest.

Feels full in the chest, and this compels him to take a long breath (after three-quarters of an hour, third day). Felt hot in the chest and around the heart (after five minutes, third day). Awakens at 2 A.M. with a crampy pain in the chest extending from the right to the left side; afterwards pain in the forehead, with general heat alternating with the above-mentioned pain in the chest; at last it moves into the neck and shoulders (first night). Stitches in the left side of the chest (seventh day). Stitches as with a knife in quick succession, in the right side of the chest under the right breast; motion or rest has no influence; afterwards stitches as with knives in the region of the left collar-bone, after midnight (second night); again under the right breast, at 8 A.M. (third day). Boiling and bubbling in the chest and the region of the heart; it ascends up to the head and makes him quite giddy; breaks out into perspiration (after three-quarters of an hour, second day).

Heart and Pulse

Sensation of heat in the region of the heart, going and coming (after fifteen minutes, third day). When lying, he feels the beating of his heart to his head (after three hours and three- quarters, third day). Pulse 54, at 5 P. M. (fourth day). Pulse 58 (after six hours, first day); 60 (after one hour and a quarter, second day); 64 in the morning (third day). Pulse 60 (after three-quarters of an hour); 74, some beats are slow, others are fast (after one hour and three quarters); 54 (after three hours and three-quarters); 68 (after six hours and three-quarters); 76 (after twelve hours and a quarter, third day). Pulse 84 (before taking); 80 (after twenty minutes); 72, after lying down and sleeping (two hours and twenty minutes after first dose, first day); 74 (on taking second dose); 58 (four hours after second dose, fourth day); 86 (fifth day).

Neck and Back

Neck. Stiffness of the neck (fifth day). Pain in the neck and shoulders (first night). Pain and stiffness in the beck, going over the whole head down to the nose, then like pinching the nostrils together (after one hour, second day). Pain in the nape of the neck, as if from dislocation, when turning the neck or bending the head backward (after two hours, second day). Back. Burning in the spine, about four inches above the small of the back (after one hour and half, second day). Sensation of pressure under the short ribs of the right side of the back, deep-seated, while taking a long breath (after three-quarters of an hour, third day). Dorsal. Burning on the right should-blade (eighth day). Stitches as from the stings of bees on the inner edge of the should-blade (after two hours and a half, first day). Lumbar. Burning in the region of the left kidney, deep internally, drawing towards the right side, soon after the burning in the juncture of the ilium with the sacrum (after three quarters of an hour, second day). Sacral. Burning in the os sacrum (after seven hours and a half, second day). Burning in the right side above the sacrum (fourth day). Burning in the spine four inches above the sacrum, in the forenoon (fourth and seventh days). Burning in the juncture of the ilium with the sacrum, deep internally, drawing towards the right (after three-quarters of an hour); soon after burning in the region of the left kidney, deep internally, drawing towards the right side (second day). Tearing in the right ischium (second day); deep inside (after three-quarters of an hour, third day).

Extremities in General

Tearing in the limbs (twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth days).

Superior Extremities.

Tearing in the left upper arm from the elbow-joint to the shoulder joint; it pains most in the elbow-joint (after five hours and a half, first day). Tearing in both elbow-joints, sometimes upwards, then downwards, frequently through the day (seventh day). Tearing in the left elbow-joint (after one hour, second day). Tearing in the right arm below the elbow (eighth day). It drew the left index finger crooked (after one hour and a half, first day). Tearing in the knuckles of the middle fingers of the right hand (tenth day).

Inferior Extremities.

Thigh. Burning on the right thigh, far up on the inside (after three-quarters of an hour, third day). Knee. Pains below the left knee-pan (seventh day). Tearing in the right knee, while walking (tenth day). Tearing in the right knee- cap (ninth day). Tearing in the left knee (tenth day). Leg. Tingling in both lower legs and feet, through and through, but worse in the calf (second day). Tearing in the right tibia (eighth day); in the afternoon (fourth day). Cramp (spasm) in the right calf, in the morning when lying in bed (fourth day). Foot. While running, suddenly a sensation as if the left foot was out of joint, so that he stumbles, afterwards tearing in the joint of the left foot (fourth day). Stitch behind the right external malleolus (after three hours, first day). Cramp in the left foot, continuing for half an hour, about 9 A.M. (sixth day). Cramp in the left foot, at night (seventeenth night). Toes. Burning in the left big toe (after one hour and three- quarters, third day). Burning under the nail of the left toe (after one hour, first day). Tearing in the right big toe, waking him from his sleep (sixth night).

General symptoms

Feels weak (ninth day). Restless, throws herself about (first night). Very restless while perspiring (eleventh night).

Skin

Objective. Appearance of some few little pimples in the bends of the elbows (fifth day). On the left gluteus muscle just on the point is formed a pimple with hard red circumference of the size of a penny, is very painful, when touched exceedingly sore, afterwards burning (sixth day); the pimple does not break, but is very painful (tenth day); a few more pimples formed around the gluteus muscle, they itch, and when opened by scratching ooze out some watery substance (eleventh day). On the forehead elevated red pimples (fifteenth day); they become larger and suppurate (sixteenth day). Subjective. Itching and burning of the skin, lasting all night, worse after scratching (third night). Stinging itching all over, for one hour (thirteenth day). Sensation on the skin of the inside of the left lower leg as if blisters were bursting; soon after the same sensation on the right lower limb (after fifteen minutes, first day). Burning and itching on the right knee, which looks scarlet red (third day). Burning stinging in the left knee-pan of short duration (after seven hours, third day). Burning stinging pain over the left knee-pan (after three hours); above the left knee- pan, on a spot the size of a cent (after nine hours and a half, second day). Tingling in the lower extremities (after fifteen minutes, third day). Tingling in the lower parts of both legs from the knees to the ankles (first day). Tingling and itching about the scrotum and around it (after three hours and three-quarters, third day). Itching as if deep within the right thigh (after one hour and a half, second day). Itching in the left tibia (after one hour and a half, second day. Crawling itching on the left elbow-joint, soon afterwards on the right elbow-joint, continues for several days, and is worse in the evenings (fifth day). Stinging-itching on the lower side of the first joint of the right second toe, when lying down in the afternoon (fourth day).
