Stool

Sensation of impending looseness of the bowels. pasty stool, brownish yellow very fetid, with particles of undigested food, preceded by colic below the umbilicus, Involuntary slight stool when urinating after the colic pain in bowels followed by dark pappy stool. Diarrhoea with pressing as far as the naval. Diarrhoea, with headache on the right side. Hard stool with blood, and violent pain in the head when straining, Burning in the anus and rectum after stool. Burning tenesmus and pain in the anus.

Urinary organs

When urinating, loss of power over sphincter ani, and a small portion of faces escaped. Urine flows away without any effort. Woke at midnight with urgent desire to urinate, Urine which had stood over night had a reddish pellicle on it, with a reddish deposit in he bottom of the vessel. Urine hot and high colored, with fever. No appreciable changes in the urine, as shown by an observation of every evacuation, time of day, amount, reaction, specific gravity, and microscopical appearance, for some time before and during the proving. (160) Urine at 4 pm. of light straw-color and very thick.

Sexual Organs Male

Increase of sexual desire. Two emission first night, one second night. Lascivious dreams three nights. For several months under the influence of repeated doses, the sexual desire and power was diminished; emission during coition too soon, and thrill deficient, Itching of glans penis.

Sexual Organs Female

Slight pains, as though preceding menstruation.

Respiratory organs

Habitual expectoration from the bronchia in the morning is freer, and a little blood appeared in the mucus. Hoarseness on rising. Hoarseness, With sore throat, When lying down, frequent desire to take a deep breath, worse when lying on the left side;so that could not sleep on that side. Craving for air, for a deep inspiration without any oppression of the chest; worse when lying down; much worse when lying on the left side, better when lying on the back yielding to the desire for deep breathing increases it; breathing gently and regularly relieves it. His habitual expectoration from the bronchia in the morning was freer, and on one occasion, a speck of blood appeared on the rather thick mucus.

Chest

Dull pain in left pectoral region disappeared, Severe pain behind the lower right portion of the sternum. Dull pain in left axillae, Sharp pains through upper part of chest.

Back and neck

Continuous pressing for some minutes in the upper scapular region, after sitting still for some time, Considerable stiffness, and sharp pressing pain across the shoulders on beginning to move. Drawing through side of head and neck to clavicle, first on the right side, next day on the left. After sitting awhile, much stiffness under lower angles of both scapulae on moving the body. Rheumatic drawing sensation across the shoulders up to the head, afterwards more in left side; Worse from any jerking motion in riding or in turning over in bed, from extreme flexure or rotation of the head, and mornings and evenings Dull pain under right shoulder-blade. (180) Pressure around point of left shoulder, as if firmly grasped, while sitting, relieved by motion of the arm. Pain worse when standing, riding, or stretching the part. Stiffness of neck and shoulders continued two mouths. Stiffness of neck and shoulders. Neck stiff. Dull aching pain in the back and lumbar regions. Aching lameness in the back. Serve backache. Aching of the back in the morning, as if it had lain unsupported. When going downstairs, sudden pain in the left sacral region (ninth day).

Superior Extremities

Hands and arms tremble. Decided feeling of weakness and tremor of the thighs and knees after a short walk. Legs from knees downward, including the whole foot, feel heavy, as if loaded. When walking in evening after sunset, frequent sudden pains in bend of left thigh anteriorly, making me stop walking (fifth day); the same, but less, in morning of sixth day.

Superior Extremities.

Hands and arms tremble. Pain in the left arm, as if he had struck himself, from the elbow down into the fingers, for two days, Drawing in the left arm from the elbow down into the fingers. Painful pressure in left shoulder and arm, with twinges of pain, relieved by pressure.

Lower Extremities

Tried feeling, especially in the lower extremities. Less weariness of the limbs than usual. The aching in the back passed down the next morning into the legs and feet. Suddenly, when sitting, a narrow streak of severe pressing pain in back of left thigh. Severe pain and lameness in muscles of lower portion of right leg. While walking, drawing, strained feeling of muscles of inside of right thigh. Peculiar hot tingling in the legs. Dull boring pain in left great toe-joint, almost unbearable, must move the foot to relieve it, for three evenings, from 8 to 9 p. m. The legs from the knees downward, including the whole foot, feel quite heavy, as if loaded. Decided feeling of weakness, and tremor of the thighs and knees, after a short walk.

General symptoms

Felt as though he were twice his natural size, during fever. Frequent pressing pains here and there all over the body. Less fatigue and faintness than usual on being obliged to walk at an early hour in morning. Tried feeling.

Inferior Extremities

Restlessness in the legs at 3.30 A.M. till morning. Decided feeling of weakness and tremor of thighs after a short walk. Felt very weak, especially on walking. Indium brought back symptoms in two cases which had long before been cured with Sulphur. Bryonia antidotes many symptoms of Indium.

Sleep

Almost constant inclination to stretch. Sleepy and irritable with the headache. Sleepy in the evening, obliged to retire early, with headache and nausea. Very sleepy from 4 to 6 p. m. Drowsiness on sitting in warm room; cannot keep awake. Great sleepiness during the afternoon. Great and unusual sleepiness morning. Sound sleep until long after usual hour. Sleepiness, with headache and nausea. Wakes at 3.30 A. m., with great restlessness, especially in the legs, preventing further sleep, Awoke between 3 and 4 for four morning in succession, the last time with vertigo, worse on turning the head on the pillow, much worse on rising. Vivid dreams of that which had most occupied his mind during the day. Troubled sleep and constant dreams of annoying accidents, of being in foreign countries. Awoke quite early not refreshed. Sleep constantly disturbed by dreams of foreign travel, chased by mad bulls, lost in mountains; when chased made desperate efforts to run, but could only walk at a slow pace. On account of difficulty of breathing obliged to lie on the back, which caused severe nightmare. Great and fruitless efforts to escape impending danger during sleep. Lascivious dreams. The following night, vivid dreams of what had most preoccupied his mind during the day, lectures and clinical studies.

Fever

Sensitive to cold. High fever with chilliness on moving, great weakness, sore throat, thirst, stretching, bad odor, violent backache and headache. Hot tingling in the legs. Easy perspiration. After eating, fever and nausea. Fever better out of doors.

Aggravation

Aggravation, (Morning), On waking, headache in forehead; on waking, smarting, etc., in eyes; obstruction of nose; on waking, bad taste; on first rising, hoarseness; stiffness in angles of scapulae; aching of back. Aggravation, (Afternoon), Headache. Aggravation, (Evening), Headache; throbbing in ears; sore throat; stiffness in angles of scapulae.
