Introduction.

Cervus campestris, Cuv. (called by Mure, Cervus Brasilicus). Brazilian name, Gouazoupita; the Brazilian deer. Preparation: Triturations of the fresh hide, covered with hair.

Mind.

Dejection during the day (3rd day).

Head.

Dizziness and heaviness of the head (1st day). The dizziness continues (2nd day). Dizzy-headed; slight weight on the forehead (3rd day). At 5 in the morning, the head feels heavy and dull, especially the front part (1st day). At noon, the head feels compressed, as by a band tied at the nape of the neck (1st day).

Weight in the forehead (2nd day).

Eye.

Vision very sensitive to light; he cannot open his eyes in the sunlight (2nd day).

Nose.

Sensation like a needle-prick on the right wing of the nose (1st day).

Face.

The face is mottled in various places (3rd day).

Mouth.

At 9.30 o’clock, the left side of the tongue feels hurt (1st day). Taste of doughy bread in the mouth (2nd and 3rd days). Coppery taste in the mouth, and a sensation of heat in the throat, when taking the drug (1st day).

Abdomen.

At 6 o’clock, slight pain around the navel, of short duration (1st day). Pricking pain in the navel when lying down (2nd day).

Intermitting pain in right groin after walking (2nd day). At 8 o’clock, pain like a needle-prick in the right groin in the direction of the joint, lasting a quarter of an hour (2nd day).

Stool.

Slight diarrhoea (1st day).

Urinary Organs.

Urine of the color of very strong tea (1st day).

Sexual Organs.

Erection in the evening, with desire to lie down (3rd day).

Superior Extremities.

Numbness of the arm on which he lies at night (3rd day).

Numbness of the hands and legs (4th day).

Inferior

Extremities.

Frequent pain, now in the left buttock, now in the thigh (1st day). Induration of the left leg, with lancinating pain (3rd day). Weakness of the left leg (1st day). Uneasiness in left leg (4th day). Sensation as if lashed with a whip on the inner side of the right leg, with red spots (2nd day). Small callosity above the left internal malleolus (1st day). Bruised sensation in the left toes (1st day).

General symptoms.

(Languid feeling; he wants to lie down), (1st day). Feeling as if tired and bruised all over (1st day). (unable to work), (1st day). Uneasiness (1st day).

Skin.

Appearance like incipient erysipelas (2nd day). Dark-red spots, with inflammation of the right side of the face (1st day). Red and moist spot on the left leg (3rd day). Feeling of gooseflesh, as if some one was cutting cork close to him (1st day).

Sleep.

Yawning (2nd day). Repeated yawning (1st day).

Drowsiness from 2.30 to 3 o’clock (1st day). Quiet and short-sleep; he wakes 4 times in the night (3rd day). Restless sleep, as on the 1st night (2nd day). Light or comatose sleep, with dreams of men dressed in black, pistol-shots, imprisonment (1st day). Awakes several times in the night, always preoccupied with the idea of quarreling with some one who frightened him (2nd day).

Fever.– Chilliness.

Shivering, with twitching (2nd day). Feels cold, although well wrapped up (1st day). Heat. Constant heat in head (1st day). 4 o’clock, the heat in the forehead and face increases (1st day). Heat of the legs (1st day). Heat in the right leg, where the red, sore place is (3rd day).

Conditions. Aggravation.

(Evening), Erection, etc.

(When lying down), Pain in navel.

(After walking), Pain in groin.

Born in 1837in Westminster, Vermont. . He was an orthodox doctor who converted to homeopathy
Dr. Allen compiled the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica over the course of 10 years.
In 1881 Allen published A Critical Revision of the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
