Convulsive twitchings, especially after fright or grief.

Convulsions: during dentition, with frothing at the mouth, kicking with the legs; during the commencement of exanthematic fevers; of children after punishment; after fear or fright, return at same hour daily.

Chorea after fright with grief, worse after eating; better lying on back.

Children convulsed in sleep after having been punished.

Paralysis after great mental emotion, and nightwatching in the sick chamber.

Sleep

      Spasmodic yawning; with pain in the lower jaw, as if dislocated; so that water runs from the eyes.

Sleep very light, hears everything, even distant sounds, during sleep.

Restless sleep.

Snoring inhalations during sleep.

During sleep of children: chewing motion of mouth and startings (flexors); stamping with feet and grinding of the teeth.

Child awakens from sleep with piercing cries and trembles all over.

Relationship

      Ignat. antidoted: Zincum.

ignat. may be indicated in ailments from Coffea, Chamom., brandy, Pulsat., tobacco.

Coccul. removes the decreased sexual power produced by Ignat.

Antidotes to Ignat: Arnic. Camphor., Chamom., Coccul., Coffea, Nux vomica, Pulsat.

Inimicals: Coffea, Tabac.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
