Characteristic Symptoms
Headache, coming up from the nape of the neck and spreading thence over the head; all the head-symptoms relieved by wrapping the head up warmly. (Silicea, Magnes. mur.). Flushes in the face, violent pulsation of arteries. Neuralgia, especially of the supra-orbital nerve, pains increase and decrease slowly (Stann., Platina). Diarrhoea, worse at night, the patient is scarcely off the vessel before he had to return. Better towards morning. Sycotic eruption, moist, itching, and burning. Amelioration in open air, especially warm sunshine.
Therapeutics
Threatening apoplexy with violent congestion of the head, red face every time the patient walks. Swelling and caries of the bones in scrofulous constitution, especially the femur, with watery diarrhoea, which recurs constantly, worse at night. Chronic sprains of the ankle-joint with oedema, after Arnica and Ruta have failed.
